Look at those rat hands/feet. The cogs in the shoulders. The forearms open.

Want!

Interesting to see that his traditional pistol has been upgraded to a rifle. Heeey... those forearms look like they can open up! Could the possibly have little bombs inside them?!? :D ;)

IMHO the new tech specs should list his function as "Saboteur" rather than "Spy." :)

I recon that blaster is made up of two or three separate pieces, if only because of the fact that a weapon that size would be difficult to hide in such a small figure.

Possibly the hilt will resemble his original blaster:

With other accessories added to make the larger weapon.

Meh... if they were doing the Transmetal version I'd consider picking him up. Not a fan of organic looking alt-modes. But can cetainly understand why BW fans would be chuffed about this figure.

Love it. But I don't like the gun being translucent.
The forearm compartments don't look big enough to store the separate gun pieces nor for transformation, so assume he has his trademark bombs?:p

Mega MEGA awesome news!
Love Beast Wars and I'm stoked that they're focusing some attention on them.
Love this Rattrap (although the originals still hold a special place in my collection :))

Very nice indeed. The translucent weapon doesn't bother me all that much, i'm sure i can find a replacement.
I find myself preferring these modern updates of the BW figures more than some of the existing G1 reimagings.

That mould is so awesome!! I'm going to need to wait on see how TT plans on working their shiny paint magic - hopefully some on the translucent rifle.

Very keen on seeing a size comparison with CHUG Dinobot and Cheetor.

Whoever is designing these BW figures is doing a masterful job at the size they are being released.

I am glad the job went to someone who either loved the series, and this the characters or someone who understands the quality of design and construction of the originals and only wished to improve upon them with today's progression in manufacturing.

I only own a few original Beast Wars figures, only wanted a few specific figures. But these classics Beast Wars figures, damn I gotta get them, they look so good.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooo-------------------------------------. *ahem* I mean splendid, that looks very nice,
Not 100% accurate to the show model or original toy like Rhinox and Waspinator were, seems more like a re-imagining like Dinobot was back for Universe 2.0

Regardless he looks great, even with the translucent gun (which could just be a prototype or something right? I seriously doubt he'll have a clear translucent gun when he's released)

looking at the forearms they can definitely swing open, but I doubt there would be removable bombs stored in there. it might just be an opening panel with a moulded bomb or something.

I am so happy that more Beast wars characters are getting the Classics treatment especially now that it's finally time for one of the first transformers I ever owned (Him and Snapper were my first 2 transformers figures)

Can't wait to pick this up :)

Good observation! :D

I don't think the final product will have a transparent blaster. Surely this is still a WIP photo of the toy. I'd be quite surprised (and disappointed) if the rifle isn't coloured upon final release.

The original form is certainly a better robot in disguise. TM Rattrap = Dinobot's taxi. :p

Yeah, the original Rattrap is still my favourite. The flipchangers cop some flak from some fans, but I quite like them because you get that "real time" transformation during play. With other toys you kinda have to suspend the action while transforming. "Big Convoy, henshin!" <30 min later> "Maximals, att---, aah screw this..."; whereas w/ flipchangers it's like, "Rattrap Maximise!" <3 seconds later> "Pew! Pew! Pew!" :D

Yeah, but IMHO Univ. Dinobot and Cheetor really didn't improve much on the original toys, whereas Rhinox really looks like a significant improvement in terms of design/engineering (mind you, he's also a larger and dearer Voyager whereas the original was a Deluxe ;) - Univ. Dinobot and Cheetor were Deluxes same as the originals). Rattrap looks like a marked improvement over the original, although I doubt he's a Scout.

I suspect so. A very nice feature if it is true. :D

The thing to note is that Rattrap's head/brain piece looks to be transparent as well, so the gun pieces would be cast in the same piece of plastic.

I'm going to take a stab and say that the Takara version will have a chrome head piece (and thus perhaps chrome blaster) where as the final Hasbro version will just be grey.

Yeah I agree. I also suspect that the photo seen here is heavily photoshopped and that the real Hasbro Rattrap won't be as 'shiny'. Will go with the Japanese version most likely. Need to get myself that Rhinox too.

Looking forward to this. It looks extremely good.

Not sure where the "scout" idea comes from. I don't see any way this toy is anything smaller than deluxe. Although given the shrinking size of deluxe's, that may work out well.

Try and find the 10th Anniversary repaint/resculpts of Optimus Primal and Megatron. They'll look great next to these new 'bots.

And if they do make Blackarachnia then I hope Tarantulas is not some lazy repaint.

Tarantulas with a heaving boosum and a curvy figure? I think not.

Since the original Rattrap is almost certainly a lost mold and can't be reissued it's great to see him get a new mold that looks similar to it. I just hope he is on the small side so he's not completely out of place size wise.

It's speculated that the pic we have shows the figure transformed incorrectly. The beast feet are more likely to be folded up into the beast 'calf' if the leg and be hidden.

Verno be right that the gun is made up of smaller guns. Leaked picture from the club mag shows him holding 2 small guns.

Also, looks like the rat feet makes up his heel for balance.

Woo he has removable bombs!! Maybe why all accessories are in translucent plastic, there's a few of them. Pity the bomb hangs down below the arm.

I wonder if Taktom will paint the bomb and gun??
