Probably best not to grab any of the current masterpiece sideswipes/lambors.

"QC issues present in the initial release of MP-12 should be resolved for this production run. Delivery Date Confirmed for Mid March!"
What the?! I guess the lambor sign on his chest will probably be more visible and some of the other issues?
Tempted to grab this reissue myself :O

so the current Lambor thats out now will most definitely drop in price when this one is released.
might be a good opportunity to see what they have really fixed and if its worth anything different $$ wise.

I've been patiently waiting for this reissue, any improvements will be a big bonus :)

When it does get re-released, just make sure you get it from a reliable source, as there are a lot of the KOs out there now, and people are going to try to pass it off as the re-release... or buyers might not know or remember there is a fake.

If they address the shoulder issue and reissue MP Alert, then I'd consider getting it. Here's hoping. :)

Interestingly I notice along with the second run of Masterpiece Sideswipe BBTS list another run of G1 Sideswipe, due for release in the 4th quarter 2013 though...

Fairly good likelyhood of Mp-14/15/16 happening I would think!

I've noticed that not many places have yet listed the second run (revised) Sideswipe for Pre-Order, is that unusual? I am keen to get this guy but hoping to take advantage of better pre order pricing.

Reissue Sideswipe hasn't been appearing on many sites despite its release due in the next two weeks. Chimungmung has it but for some reason its $74.50 USD whereas the rest of their MP cars are $59.90.

Not sure i'll be able to pre-order this one, may have to try my luck on eBay after March 15.

I am not panicking, there may be a Hasbro version down the road. Nothing to really worry for me.

I thought he was no longer coming to TRU? I am not willing to risk it myself, I wasn't collecting MP figures when Sideswipe was first released yet he was one of my favourite characters, so hopefully now I can get a hold of him without being ripped :)

That is just talk, there were talks saying sideswipe is back into the list.
I am not worried as it is like the Grimlock it was reissue. This will be reissue again and again. If the price is correct, well that's fine. But I won't be touching it if I cannot get him at what I paid for G2 Sideswipe most definitely.
Something tells me this is a hk reissue second run rather than a Japanese reissue call.

I heard that the listing for him in that leaked database was actually a Hasbro HK listing for the Takara version.

This is most likely correct and thus you wont see it on Japanese websites.
I think you stand a better bargain on Ebay though.

It seems a bit odd that BBTS seem to have this in stock but no one else does? Release dates listed on most sites as end or Mar or April in some places so I am guessing April is right but the first lot went to BBTS?
The price seems to be around $80-100 usd on most sites, I haven't been able to find it for the usual cost of around $60 usd unfortunately and not at all on eBay yet.

Tony from Chimungmung said to me that he's now expecting it next week. I've already orders/paid for two.

my question is why is second run $74.90 at Chimungmung and G2 at $59?
Don't make sense, it just tells me is a money opportunity grabbing business.

Simple as supply and demand. They know people want it, so they up the price a little from the first run. Not saying I completely agree with it, but it's just business. It will likely come down in price later, if people are willing to wait that long.

yeah, no rush, not like sideswipe is a must buy figure for me, since I don't have mp-10 anyway.

I was told this re-run was done because a business person said he/ she wanted to make 6000 pieces of this hence the license was given to him/ her to produce.

I am not sure what to do myself, I really want an MP Sideswipe since i wasn't collecting during the first run and so I was really hanging out for this second run with its QC improvements but there are truly mixed results on TFW2005 regarding this model and it seems like there is a very good chance of ending up with a dud despite paying a lot more for this second run. So disappointing.

Well looks like you are more desperate than I am as I am in your shoes, and I am not paying overprice RRP for this. I will gladly wait and see if Hasbro will decide to release sideswipe since they have interest in releasing prowl.

Look if you're not completely satisfied with the product once you receive it, ask for an exchange or refund. You'd be entitled to it.

To be honest, I am buying for the RRP price point, if $90 TRU gets me a sideswipe, I just get it and hong kong stores wont get a dime from me because they are being selfish in their rerun.
At this stage I don't really care much for this piece for the current price. If is a do or die, I worry about getting a mp-10 first.
Simply put, I am not worried.

It can happen. Hasbro's MP Starscream and Rodimus had improved QC over their Takara counterparts. And even if there's no improvement, as far as the more recent MPs are concerned, even Australian RRPs work out substantially cheaper than TakTOM's. e.g. Hasbro's MP Soundwave has QC issues with the paint apps on the visor which TakTOM's doesn't, but considering that it's approx. $110 cheaper (not incl. postage) than TakTOM's, who's complaining? ;)
I'm personally hoping that Hasbro will release the cars, including the Lambos.

So I pulled the trigger on this guy and got him for $84 delivered. Well worth it! I love this mold! I have all 3 Datsun brothers but prefer this in both Robot and car mode. I found him more intuitive to transform too. My second run had no issues at all. So no marks, joints are good, face looks right, the paint all matches and the Autobot symbol is straight. Very pleased :D

May I ask where you got him from?

I purchased him from chimungmung but with other items, no coin and some negotiating to reduce the price.
