G'day all,

heard about this forum from a while back via a friend of mine that was a collector (not too sure if he was a member though) that would pop by here on Transformer news. Admittedly, my research was usually triggered whenever i had an itch to go on an eBay raid... which when i think about it (in comparison to sites like RK and EHBS), "could have gotten it for a cheaper price!"

Anywho, i've been lurking this forum ever since i found feedback on eHobbyBaseShop (EHBS). Must say that i purchased MP-17 to MP-19 from them. Very happy with the condition of the items as well as how it was securely packaged, prompt freight times (received all 3 within a week of release of MP-19), decent prices (inc. postage) and absolutely delighted when i (unexpectedly) received the coins for each MP and Prowl's shoulder missiles!

Well... i'm going off tangent. Just some quick things about me... grew up in the sorta dodgy part of the South East of Melbourne (shout out to anyone from Carwatha here!), went to Monash Uni. and done Engineering (started a club among other not so good things), moved North of the Border with my sombrero to Sydney for a few years (first job) before being deported back to Mexico (Melbourne).

AH! And of course, decided to join up not only out of courtesy and to meet to like-minded hobbyist, but also because i'am bored shitless in the office! It is quite demoralizing when ya' see an office that usually has 150 (at capacity) reduced to (approx.) 30!

Anyways, better get back into it... see you guys around!

@ Wheelie and Trent: Cheers guys

@ Megatran: I technically graduated in 2009 but finished studying in mid-2009 and done Industrial Engineering. How 'bout yourself?

Chemical Engineering 1999. It was a long time ago. HECS was a lot more affordable back then. :D

Engineering in Australia appears to be contracting (or at least recruitment is slowing down) due in part to the 'end' of the mining boom. I hear of Engineering firms shedding jobs due to market slowdown. I got out Engineering some years ago and moved into Product Development in the Food Industry. People have to eat, right?

@ MayzaPrime: Cheers big ears!

@ Megatran: made a typo.... graduated in 2009 but finished studying in mid-2008. Ahh... Chemical Engineering.... i dont know if this particular lecturer was around at the time, but did ya' ever have a "Dr. Andrews" (coke bottle glasses) in any of your Chem. Eng. classes? And ever had anything to do with Dr. Abachi?

Yea... HECs... still paying mine off -_-... Guess it can't be as bad as what International Students pay, though.

Can't say much about the Engineering industry as a whole (i work in the Retail industry, but in the Supply Chain side) but on a casual glance, things seem quite bleak, especially if you are in manufacturing (automotive in particular).

Seems like you've read the signs early and bailed out. Glad to read it has worked out for you so far :)
