is there anyone in Australia who grades comic books and toys in Australia or is AFA the only way to do it

Not to my knowledge. If you want to get it graded just to protect your investment, you can buy the cases from eBay. Last time I bought one was for a G1 Megatron box and that cost me approx. $50 which is a lot less than getting it graded.

Yeah, may as well protect it yourself by buying an AFA box.

The AFA grade itself lost a lot of credibility when incidents were reported of them AFA grading KOs by mistake.

That to me has lost every creditability. For something like this its shows they just want money to grade something.

I agree w/ what 5FDP and kup said. It can't be that hard to look at a toy and inspect the condition of the packaging and toy for yourself. And if you're the kind of person who wants the cardboard to be as flawless as possible, then get the toy directly from the case. Because handling by store staff when figures are shelved/pegged can cause wear (I've seen entire shelves of carded toys at some Targets where the cardbacks are BENT at the top to squeeze them into the shelf space (rather than just adjusting the height of the shelves). Short of being present when a new shipment arrives and just being there when they crack a case open (it's happened to me on a few rare occasions... moreso years ago when store staff were more willing to let people into back rooms and open cases that were still sitting on palettes ;)), or otherwise just purchase an entire case and sell off the excess to other collectors.

I know there is a trading card grading company (Card Grading Australia (http://www.cardgradingaustralia.com/)) but I don't thing there is anyone that does toys here

Lets just hope that site never disappears, many MISB collectors were caught out when these KO's first popped up too, thinking they were getting a good deal. Many people still get caught today especially with loose dinobots and technobots. :(

TFW hopes it never disappears as well since they love plagiarising it :p
