Hi All
My mother inlaw has just found two old Transformers in there orignal boxes.
Starscream 5781/5784 ASST
Ramjet 5984/5785 ASST
Would like to find out what they would be worth or who I could get to Value them and then assist in selling.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Colin

Images, or links to images will be necessary as there have been a lot of toys with those names. (do a google image search)
Or, the year on the back of the box or toy might narrow it down as well.

Those are a G1 (original Seeker mould) Starscream and Ramjet - we'd just need to see their condition.

And given the characters, possibly those (Chinese?) reissues from the early 90s

I was thinking along.the same lines, but the 90's reissue Ramjet is marked as F 5984/5784.
Colin, are you able to provide any photos of their condition?

Thanks for your replies
My mother inlaw bought them as orignals from Big W in the late 80's but never gave them to her son. Both are in original boxes and unopened. The Ramjet box has a slight mark on it.
I am having some issues posting the photos. They will be up as soon as I can
Thanks

Just use a photo hosting site (e.g. Photobucket) when putting the photos in the thread replies. The forum has disallowed photo attachments ( which might be what your encountering as - difficulties) as it is eating a whole lot of bandwidth or something. But it is easier as well using photo hosting sites for this.

It looks like they are nearly Pristine, I'd love them both but couln't pay you enough for what I imagine they are worth. Largely because I'm a cheapskate.
I haven't looked at mint sealed G1 toys in a long while so I can't give you an accurate number. i'm not even sure where to look. perhaps eBay and check the items that have actually sold as there are often very high unrealistic listings on there as well.

This happens sometimes, but they show the boxes well enough regardless.
I don't think you'll have any trouble selling these here, but shop around for a good price. Valuing vintage TFs can be hard, particularly examples like these.

Dibbiemac - you should be able to get $200+ for each one.

As far as I can tell, neither have been Knocked Off "in Gen1 box" yet, so IF they are both still sealed on both sides of the boxes... you could get a fair bit for them.
But be aware that ebay US prices are often significantly higher than ebay AU prices, as there is greater demand over there which drives up the prices.
Also note - since both have been reissued a few times (they both were even legitimately produced for the Chinese market in the 90s), the value is only if they are still sealed. They both can fetch a fair bit sealed ($200 for Ramjet, $400 for "rub sign" Starscream), but if either end of the box has the tape cut or broken, you might only get about $50-100 for each.
Ramjets sold on ebay in the last few months...

Comes with a non-sealed AFA box.
Starscream is an odd one, as my couple of searches didn't find any sealed originals that were NOT being sold as "AFA graded" (the toy is sent to a company in America that seals and rates your toys).
As such, if you wanted to spend a little time and money on your Starscream, you could look up the "toygrader" site and get your Starscream AFA graded. It isn't anything officially endorse by toy companies, but it is accepted as a qualified authority by toy collectors (essentially guaranteeing the quality and contents of the toy inside).

US$830 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/G1-Transformer-Starscream-MISB-AFA-80-/291028559996?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item43c2a7687c&nma=true&si=RW11U%252ByiWKMCqQA%252FOdvfguANmHc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557) (auction) - AFA sealed box (rub sign version)
US$209 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Transformers-G1-Starscream-w-box-Vintage-Hasbro-Transformerland-/271304922293?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item3f2b0894b5&nma=true&si=RW11U%252ByiWKMCqQA%252FOdvfguANmHc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557) (buy it now) - not AFA, NOT sealed, toy removed from bubble, box damaged (rub sign version)
US$202 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Starscream-MIB-WITH-2X-TRAYS-Vintage-Hasbro-1985-G1-Transformers-/141112912437?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item20dafc2a35&nma=true&si=RW11U%252ByiWKMCqQA%252FOdvfguANmHc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557) (buy it now) - not AFA, NOT sealed, toy removed from bubble, box damaged (rub sign version)
This means that you should be able to get between US$200 and US$800 for Starscream on ebay as an auction, and about US$200 for Ramjet. Even more if they are AFA graded (which can cost a bit of money though, so is a gamble).
If you are willing to sell them, and are happy with a price below $200, you can list them here for sale if you want, and hopefully they go to a fan, and not someone who is planning to just resell them for quick profit.
So do some homework if you want best value from these figures and can sit on them for a while, but if you just want the current demand value, put them up on ebay America as separate auctions, making sure that Americans can buy them (ship worldwide & list on Ebay US).

I believe the "Ages 7 and up" Ramjets were the reissues that we got around 1989. As Paulbot said, the fact that it's Starscream and Ramjet here suggests that's what they are.
