Hi,
Do I have no choice but to buy the DVD's sets from America? Particularly, Transformers Animated and Transformers Prime. As I see no indication that Madman will be releasing them in the near future. I would prefer Blu-Rays but I think its wishful thinking from Madman. Thanks.

All indication is that Madman will be releasing the DVD's of both animated and Prime here this year, there are no concrete dates though.

You will need an NTSC compatibal player to play import from the states.

it looks like Animated will not be getting a Bluray release either here or anywhere else for the moment.

You may also need a region free player to play US releases.

Hi, I use a program called "DVD Region Free" to play the US DVD's (Animated seasons 1 and 2) on my computer, but unable to play the Blu-Rays.

Thanks for the post. I reckon I'll just buy TF Animated Season 3 from the US. Thanks again.

If I have no choice but to buy from the US, I create a 'back-up', remove the region encoding, and convert to MP4 format for playback on my media player. It's a lot of stuffing around, but for one I don't have a region-free player and secondly, it keeps my discs like new.

Just about every DVD player can be made region free if you know the code to change it. On this site you can put in the make and model of your DVD player and it will give you instructions on how to make it region free.

I used that site for the 2 DVD players in my house, and I've never had an issue with region coding since!

Not for many of the Panasonic models - you have to send it in to an authorised repairer to be done for free (shipping and/or your time is extra).
