At Toyfair LAST YEAR, there was an unknown, unnamed silver BotShot figure, and it wasn't until October that had the leaked Hasbro database listing "TRA BOT SHOTS ROM THE SPACE KNIGHT A2587" did people pair it up with that silver BotShot toy.

With Botshots winding up, it will probably never be known if this toy was indeed going to be release officially as a Transformers character... but now a website article (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/rom-the-spaceknight-coming-to-the-idw-transformers-universe/29468/) has reported on the three trademarks that Hasbro registered last year relating to ROM - toy, cartoon, comic.

So there almost was a toy from Hasbro, and word is that IDW are looking at the comic side of things. Now the question is, will there be a cartoon coming, and will it have anything to do with Transformers.
Or, are Hasbro just sitting on the trademarks to make sure no one else uses them?
ROM is probably fairly unknown by most, despite being a 75 issue comic by Marvel from 1979-1986 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rom_%28comics%29), but considering the "Knights" theme with IDW and BotCon this year, it could be good timing to have the character reborn into the Transformers universe.
