The Brand is definitely being pimped out to all sorts of new avenues this year, with two more Mobile/Tablet App games with Transformers themes.

The first is "Battle Masters" (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/video-games-17/transformers-battle-masters-mobile-game-released-179368/), which is the online version of the upcoming battling robot toys we've seen recently (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=17807) (that look very little like existing Transformers characters).
There are 8 characters to begin with, and another 6 to unlock.

The second one is "Battle For Cybertron" (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/video-games-17/transformers-mobile-social-game-transformers-battle-for-cybertron-179367/) but is just a Casino App with a Transformers Theme, in a slot machine format. I can't see it saying how much it costs, but the description implies that it could be a proper paid gambling game.
It says in the press release - "relive the fun of TRANSFORMERS from anywhere"... by gambling? Oookay.

If anyone plays either of these games, let us know what they are like... and if the Casino one is indeed a pay-to-use game, and what characters are in the Battle Masters game (as it could let us know what toys they are releasing).

I was reading about this on Seibertron yesterday. I find the idea of a slot machine/gambling game based on Transformers very disturbing. They could argue that there are plenty of adult TF fans and that is who this is aimed at, but they are using FOC characters and that was a PG rated video game that was certainly played by a many youngsters. I'm surprised Hasbro has agreed to this to be honest.

I was thinking the same thing, being a Brand that targets kids from 5-12 years old (regardless of them growing up, or even becoming a significant demographic themselves).
One thing I thought about as being similar was a slot machine in Vegas that was Star Wars themed (and it was so much fun, I was on it for a couple hours)... but the difference with that one is that the target demographic is a little older because it is movie based. It's still at least an older (Teen) demographic, which is also under the gambling age, but closer to it to have more active fans of that Brand reach that legal age to want to play it.
(there were a few themed slot machines based on movies or fiction, but it was the non-gambling extras on those machines, like bonus games on the computer screen or animations)

This one being a mobile device makes it easier for kids to access, as there is no bouncer on mobile devices like there are at a casino (to enforce age restrictions).

I totally agree with you there. Gambling should not be associated with any form of childrens property.

exactly, the slot machine was on a floor where underaged are not allowed by law, a touch app is available everywhere. different situation.

I downloaded and had a go at that Transformers FOC casino app.

How fricken boring! Do people really enjoy this kind of thing?!?

There is some Fall of Cybertron artwork that we have all seen before, and a twangy version of the G1 cartoon intro song plays in the background. That's about it for the TF influence on the game.

All you do is press the roll button and watch to see if rows of symbols come up, just like a pokies machine. Personally I have zero gambling bug and just cant see the point of this at all. I'm buggered if I know how people get addicted to this in real life.

I be interested in a more relaxed paced game. The legends chewed my batteries badly and that was it for me.
