Looks like word is out about the next Transformers cartoon to come out. 2015 Will usher in a new series being that appears to be a mix of Prime aesthetic and Rescue Bots art style. I'm calling it Animated: Redux. :)
The only picture we have so far is of Bumblebee. 2D and looking a little like he and Smokescreen had a "The Fly" style transporter accident.
The post I'm sourcing can be found HERE (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-prime-39/new-transformers-cartoon-revealed-first-look-at-bumblebee-179502/).
What are your first impressions?

im positive about this. Hoping its a show that harkens back to the TF of old.
Havent watched prime as i like to watch TF with my 2 and 5 year olds.
Im assuming Optimus is no longer with us at this stage of the game and if this is a sequel?
First reponse....bring him back for the kids! and lets see who else is on the roster ;)

Looks very uninteresting to me. Seems more of the same borefest only with more Bumblebee.

Not looking promising by the looks of that Bumblebee. If I was 5 years old then maybe. Where's my Generations Transformers TV series?

They have shown a pic of Bumblebee from the new cartoon set for next year. As reported last year, it will be set in the Prime/RescueBots universe. (the aligned continuity).
Doesnt look too bad, from the artwork and the description it may be somewhat reminicent of TF: Animated :D
Here is a quote below:
The Hub Network, champions of family fun and the only network dedicated to providing kids and their families entertainment they can watch together, announced today that a new animated series is currently in production for the globally renowned TRANSFORMERS brand. Set to debut in early 2015, the new action-packed series is being produced by Hasbro Studios, the production and distribution division of Hasbro, Inc., and is executive produced by Jeff Kline ("Transformers Prime," "G.I. Joe Renegades").
Taking place years after the battle between Autobots and Decepticons in "Transformers Prime," this all new series centers around our hero Bumblebee stepping up to lead a brand new team of Autobots. The show features an all-star cast with Will Friedle ("Boy Meets World") returning as Bumblebee, along with Darren Criss ("Glee"), Constance Zimmer ("House of Cards") and Ted McGinley ("Married with Children"). Blending 3D characters with hand-painted environments, the series mixes action-packed adventure with lots of comedy, making it a rip-roaring experience for kids and families to enjoy together.

Hmmm. That must have been an interesting discussion at Hasbro about deciding to have a series without Optimus in it. Even if it was a given that BB would replace him.
I wonder how long he will stay gone?

As far as Hasbro management is concerned, there are only two characters in the whole TF universe - Prime and Bumblebee.
Now it seems that there will be only one.
Expect more shelf warming Bumblebee variants that nobody but the fat old fart at the retail store wants.
....I wonder if that will be the final death knell for the Transformers brand in Australia? It is already on life support.

I updated the thread I started about this topic last year with the same new news story (I hadn't seen this thread yet Jinto - sorry mate :)) and the powers that be deleted my post! :( Don't know if it was so there would not be two threads about the same thing, or they thought I was being trying to be nasty and ursurp this thread but it seems rather odd
By the looks of Bumblebee and their description about how humor will be contained in the new show, it's sounding very reminicent of TF: Animated and that suits me right down to the ground :D

I've Tweeted Derrick J. Wyatt and asked him if he's involved and he said it's Jose Lopez who he's known for years and they both have similar influences.
I eventually got into animated and enjoyed it, the super kiddy irritating characters bugged me, like professor princess etc.
Prime would have to be my favorite transformers series so far. I will be interested to see where they take this next series, I'm going to opt out of the toys for now, primarily on a space requirement. I'll probably end up caving like I did with Animated but for the moment I'm sticking to my guns barring a couple here and there.

No, there was nothing wrong with your post... it was just moved into this one, since it seemed to be attracting all the attention now for the Bumblebee image, not the original announcement of the series existing.
Since it's posting date slotted it in before other more-recent posts, a comment on the move would be out of place. (and I figured that if you thought it went missing, you could just look up your "recent posts" in your profile page to find it)

I remember being horrified when I first saw I pic of animated Prime. That show turned out to be a lot of fun. So im trying to be open minded with this.

That solo promo pic of Bee isn't very encouraging but a look at how it looks in motion as well as the rest of the cast is needed before judgement is rendered.

I think my kids will enjoy this very much...
Somehow, it just doesn't work for me.
I was never a fan of the Prime design and artwork so mixing this with the Rescue Bots just isn't my cup of tea.
It will appeal to the kiddies tho :)

That was more animated than Prime style, but it is only a 2D drawing of what will be a 3D series.
The comment about hand painted backgrounds surprised me and is a very interesting art choice.
I expect his to be somewhat akin to an earlier ben 10 style animation and show, even beware of the batman; empty locales and the only 3d characters will be the main cast and everything else will be ghost town.
It is a great chance to use some lesser known characters to keep their trademarks up to date and to tie in to older products from other lines, Smokescreen, Sideswipe, Skids, Jetfire, Omega Supreme and I expect there to be Dinobots, Drift, possibly Windblade and Nautica at some point.
I'll need to see more before I get excited or give up, but being set in the "aligned" continuity does not a good start make.

What happened to TF's with noses? Was there a great disaster on Cybertron where they lost them all?
I know robots don't need noses, but the same could be said for their mouths. :p

I'm still quite happy with the direction this series is suppose to be taking. It's built for 5-10 year olds and that's a good demographic to target. This is were hasbro should be heading from a business sense and the fan base they need to foster. But then again, I'm biased. I want a show for my boys to watch and develop their connection with. I want them to get the same enjoyment in seeing the autobots kick the decepticons butts every Saturday morning
I get most of my TF kicks from collecting the toys and reading IDW stuff these days ;)

After the great uproar and collective aneurysm that the fandom had over the chins in animated () Hasbro decided to not risk something like that happening again.
Personally I liked the large chins. And besides that, it's a cartoon… Relax people ;)

I'm glad to hear that they are continuing w/ TF Prime and not taking the "lazy" path of rebooting continuity. Also interesting to see that Bumblebee is maintaining mantle as Autobot leader... wonder how long that'll last before Optimus Prime makes a miraculous return. And I'd really like to see Megatron stay out of the picture too, or if he does return, perhaps he could even join the Autobots (that way Hasbro still gets to maintain the trademark yada yada). Wouldn't hold my breath though, but one can (not so) secretly hope. ;)

I'll be honest, I'm looking forward to this and hopefully the toys look amazing or at least have sophisticated iterations integrated into the Generations line.

So I had a dream that a new Transformers series was announced (yes I sometimes dream of transformers related things :p ) only to wake up and find that a new Transformers series was announced, sadly what I saw in my dream was much more exciting than this promo pic of Bee.
But that said I like that they are continuing the Prime series with this new series, the art style of 3d models and 2d backgrounds sounds interesting but makes me think of Energon/Cybertron, which isn't really a good thing....
The decision to go more comedic is a good idea to attract kids, but I still hope that there is enough action and story to make it more than just mindless laughs.
I can't help but wonder what the story will be for this series though, since (SPOILER ALERT) at the end of Predacons Rising Megatron disbanded the decepticons leaving only Starscream, who may or may not have survived his confrontation with the preds. (END SPOILERS) so it makes me wonder who or what the potential villains will be.
the cast members announced sound good enough to me, although I feel Darran Criss' voice is maybe not suited to a transformer, which makes me wonder if maybe he might play a human companion (bringing the series back to earth.) but if he does play a Transformer then that will be fine too, I would especially love to see some entirely new characters
all in all I look forward to seeing more from this series, and will remain hopeful
(speaking of hopes, I hope even though they won't be main characters that we still get to see Bulkhead, Arcee, Smokescreen and especially Knockout again)

Representative of final design, which is polite way to say its fugly and there was massive fan outrage

...and actually Cheetor was one of the strongest parts of the Beast Machines story too, as his character development logically followed on from Beast Wars. :) Yes, the series did have its flaws - no argument there - but Cheetor was one of the highlights of the show IMHO. :o Too bad his toys sucked.

Woah, that would be trippy.
I quite like the initail look. And those animated-ish styles allow for a lot more flexibility with the figures... which should already be under way, if they intend to have them appearing some time next year.
Come ooooon cool new Knockout figure. :D
