Power Rangers was freaking cool, loved them when I was younger. Transformers meets Godzilla for a pure win. The Zords were cool toys the real stand outs being the Godzilla-esc Dragonzord!

Bad-ass!

The Original Megazord was a pretty cool combiner.

sweet stuff, and tempting to reacquire if it wasn't for the horrifying prices on eBay.

Anyone else love the dodgy-dub fun of the Rangers?

I used to watch it after school back in 1994, I even went and saw the movie - it had cgi combining robots! - and while I was interested in the designs, I was never interested in buying any of the toys.

I just got a mini-combiner about a month ago. My kids get some of the new figures sometimes. They love the Psycho Ranger movie. Think it's the original movie.

Yep, big fan, but I also didn't get the toys. More into Lego then I think.

When PR first came out I wasn't all too impressed. Felt it was a cheap Voltron rip-off (which in a way it was)

Yet I still ended up seeing it at the movies. Simply because our one and only local cinema was closing down (haven't had one since) so my sister and I decided to see as many movies as we could.

Power Rangers and Species all in one night!

Though a couple of years ago I watched all over Dino Thunder, mostly because Tommy was in it. Dunno why I liked that guy.

Never got the toys though. See 'em in the stores but they just never interest(ed) me.

I'm not a fan of Power Rangers at all but I do like Japanese Tokusatsu/Sentai series. My favourite is Super Star God Gransazer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iiEyfKc1mY&feature=related). :) I used my Sazer toys as authoritarians (e.g.: Prince Escalus, soldiers) in my Shakespearian TF/Star Wars photocomic. :D

The Sazers move in to stop another public brawl that has broken out as a result of the continuing feud between the MontaguesTransformers and CapuletsStar Wars.

I used to collect them with a passion and had every deluxe megazord up until Timeforce. For some reason, Bandai stopped releasing the deluxe zords into stores after the first Space series and as a result, I had to hunt them all down from the US which was very pricey considering their size and weight (alot of diecast content). I stopped collecting them cause I had new priorities (mortgage, shiny new car) and not enough space and ended up selling 3/4 of my collection just recently. I still have the last 3 I'm selling on ebay at the moment and once these are gone, I'll be done with PR for the forseable future. But I do like the designs of some of the later series even if I'm not going to buy them. The only ones I've kept are the Lightspeed zords (Supertrain, Omega, Max Solar, Lightspeed) and the Delta and Astro Megazords. The rest have been sold or are in the process of being sold.

Some good memories. But most of mine were about perving on the pink and yellow ranger. It was that age. :D

Back in the 90's, i remember the first day it showed on Agro

i hated it then, i must have been 6 0r something and i knew it was ridiculous.

Everytime they have to move or do something they have to flick their arms around like this (waves arms to nobody)

The puttis were hilarious and so was Rita and those 2 guys who were 25 and still in school , it was like watching some form of pschotorture.

Where did the first wave of powerangers hide their dino vehicles? They just seemed to fly out of nowhere while the theme song played.

and every ep, the enemy would grow to 100000 feet and they would jump 1000000 feet into their giant robot. I always wanted the robot with the saucer head to die, and i remember the head in the giant jar.

And i remember my cousins and i were taken to the Powerangers play or movie premier and it has a paper mache comet that exploded with a BANG

I used to collect the Zords... had heaps of em but ended up getting rid of em all.
Really liked the Zords but hated the show.
Liked the fact that they were mostly big chunky combiner bots or bases and they displayed really well if you put em all together.
The Japanese versions were always of better quality and had heaps of diecast although price-wise, there wasn't much of a diff (not including shipping that is).
Always felt ripped off buying the US versions due to the quality and price

I remember seeing the movie on video when I was Babysitting my cousin who was really into them, he had a good dozen or so toys as well.

Acting wasn't as cheesy as I thought it would be (was still bad though) and I liked seeing Sydney on film, but that was about it.

If I catch the series that are made in NZ on the tv I like watching a few minutes of it to have a good chuckle.

Be careful about perving on the original yellow ranger... out of costume = girl, in costume = guy. Fact! :D

A friend of mine used to be a massive Power Rangers fan when it came out. He collected everything - so much so that he got a small caravan and placed it in the back yard. Its sole purpose to house his MMPR collection... and it was packed. You opened the door and there wasn't enough room to step in! He also got onto the set of the Power Rangers movie (which was shot in Sydney) and took lots of behind-the-scenes happy snaps (with permission... this guy had contacts). :) It was interesting seeing how much damage their stunt doubles would do to their costumes after each shot... each of those gymnastic stunt moves they would do kept on tearing their suits!

There is nothing like the originals...;):)

I got these from Fungal Infection not that long ago (Thanks Again for giving me a chance to requiring these again...":D )
I am also thinking about "if not trying to" get these sets from reprolabels for them
Dragonzord (http://www.reprolabels.com/MMPR/MMPR/Mapdragonzord2.jpg)

Pteradactly and Mammoth/Mastodon (http://www.reprolabels.com/MMPR/MMPR/Mapmastpter2.jpg)

From the April Acquisitions thread (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?p=94018):

...together they look like Autobot Power Rangers. Ironic considering that Takara's original name for Transformers in Japan was 「変身戦隊トランスフォーマー」(Henshin Sentai Transformers - "Transforming Battle Squad Transformers"*). For those who don't know, all the Tokusatsu Sentai TV shows in Japan (the kinds of shows which are later culled to make Power Rangers) typically have the word "Sentai" (Battle Squad) in their titles, e.g.: (discussion continued in Power Rangers thread (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=1824) :)

「恐竜戦隊ジュウレンジャー」 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lL_qHfb7qo)(Kyouryuu Sentai (Dinosaur Battle Squad) Zyuranger)
「五星戦隊ダイレンジャー」 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL9RzjXwoPo) (Gosei Sentai (5 star Battle Squad) Dairanger)
「高速戦隊ターボレンジャー」 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpliNcM29qc)(Kousoku Sentai (High Speed Battle Squad) Turboranger)
「電磁戦隊メガレンジャー」 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMzhLXY1kOk)(Denji Sentai (Digital Battle Squad) Megaranger)
「特捜戦隊デカレンジャー」 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWbjUuOfork)(Tokusou Sentai (Special Police Battle Squad) Dekaranger)
etc. You get the picture. ;)

roller and Lord_Zed (and Geminii too?) know that I love singing these songs at Karaoke. :D

Power Rangers bah!!! it was crap and just a crappy version of Voltron IMO!!!

Well, Lion Force Voltron (aka Hundred Beast King Go-Lion) was basically the same thing - just animated instead of live action. Ditto Gatchaman (aka Battle of the Planets, G-Force, Eagle Riders) - only their vehicles didn't transform into robots or merge into a big robot (although they did transform from regular vehicles into super vehicles and could all dock with the God Phoenix).

I much preferred Vehicle Force Voltron (aka Armoured Fleet XV Dairugger) - 15 military vehicles capable of interstellar flight > 5 cats. :p

I preffered Vehicle force Voltron too, but I notice that not many people seem to remember that one.

As for Power rangers, never liked the toys, but the show was cheezy good fun! I found it being shown on Channel 7 at 1 am in the morning a while ago! Good stuff!

The bad guys would be winning and then they would grow and the PR would get their Zords and win the day. Why the bad guys didnt just stay small I could never understand...

The latest one...."Power Ranger RPM" so far, seems a little bit more mature than the last ones and in my opinion, it kind of makes me want to watch it for the story than anything else.

I remember the Power Rangers, I used to watch it all the time when I was 8 or 9, I kinda grew out of it after the movie was released.
I have some figures stashed somewhere in storage, found a couple of them the other day and had a good laugh.

I loved them back in the day, I had the red ranger but none of the huge toys...

WHen I moved house I found my red ranger with blonde felt stuck to his head...wonder what I was trying to do as a kid? Maybe make him super saiyan as I loved DBZ too

Man i loved power rangers back in the day too... Especially with the original MMPR cast
I can still remember the tune from their wrist communicators....
I never bought the toys though... i think i stopped playing with toys by then... just watched the show and the movies...
damn kimberly was hot... not so much now though...

really random fact:
One of my brother's uni mate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Chan) graduated and worked for a while as a doctor but then decided to take up acting.... a couple of years later, he became a green samurai ranger (http://www.rangercentral.com/prns-rg-cam.htm) on the power ranger: ninja storm series!!

Sorry dude, i dont think my bro still stays in regular contact with him any more...Different life, different circles i guess...

I dont know where you can hire or buy a full adult power ranger suit but i know for sure that if you try some of the professional tailors/dressmakers near your area, they would be willing to make you a custom fitted one if you give them just some photos!!!! It might cost a bit though for the materials and labour...

I did a cosplay/fight choreography/martial art demonstration thing for a convention a while back based on the theme of mortal kombat and my friend's friend (who is a tailor) made all of the costumes....They turned out pretty damn cool too...

So a power rangers costume is not impossible.
