is anyone on here with hasbro connections able to get a confirmation that we are 100% getting it?
Yes we are. 900 Grimlocks will be available -that's 300 units more than both Optimus Prime & Soundwave & some members even bought extra Soundwaves for others, but ended up taking them back. There will be more than.enough :)

OCD's suck in situations like this... I got MP Grimlock the first time he was available at TRU, with that one-of-a-kind, doesn't match anything, doesn't fit anywhere packaging, but I feel compelled to want MP-03 now that they are uniforming the look of the boxes... CURSE YOU OCD'S!!!!!!

Can always sell of the other and keep this one if it bothers you that much.
I only find that this release is way due and I suspecting Christmas if this is how it pans out.
What about sun storm? We not getting that?

Both appear to be in their system, but it is taking longer than expected for them to get to stores. Maybe they are trying to sell of some of the Movie bulk first, to trim down their inventory of Transformers Branded toys...

Perhaps you could ask if anyone who's intending on getting this toy but not keeping the box might like to give the box to you --- or even entirely swap that toy with yours. Would be better than paying $150 (or however much this toy costs) just for a box. ;)

Hasbro product number - A8734
And it is suggested that a second shipment will be in two months time... so if true, if you miss out this time, keep an eye out for October for more.

Hey mate chaddy has some prowls but they aren't on the shelf, if you go down by the registers there is a bunch in a glass cabinet, I never realised they had stuff there! There looked to be at least 5 so you should be safe to grab one :)

Original Hasbro has better tampos (to look more like the toy) and better joints.
Original/reissue Takara has better paint apps.

Bugger, I noticed the hasbro MP-03 of Grimlock has some issues, it's lacking the paint strips on its upper arms and I got the same elbow joint pieces for both sides, which is not something that can be replaced or turned around.:(

The strips on the arms have been clearly noted as absent since the US re-release in July. Actually the reason I pulled the pin on a first-run US one when I did.

Sigh, I don't even know if it's worth the time and effort to take it back and get it replaced. More than likely they won't have any more units left if I do take it back. I just wished they did more QC checks.

There might be a second batch shipped to us in October so you might be able to jump on that. I'd be concerned about getting an even worse copy of the toy though, so you might wanna hang onto the one you have instead of a flat out exchange just in case.

hmmm....
this review/comparison mentions loose joints on the hips:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ymwWf0-P7o
is that something that would affect the majority of units or random qc error? i am REALLY keen to grab this as having only recently come back into transformers I was not around/aware of previous versions etc so $130 is an awesome price for something that looks on average $200 plus shipping online.

Given multiple reviews, it doesn't look like loose joints are an isolated case for MP03. However they are generally fixable: http://www.allspark.com/forums/topic/102553-how-to-fix-grimlocks-loose-joints/
Hopefully the elbow thing is less prevalent though.

You can always start a WTB thread & see if a member in your state can assist. I'd also ring the store in question and ask if they have a home shopping option available. If that doesn't work at a store level, try their Head Office & see if they can organise something.

I got Grimlock from TRU today and I'm really not sure what to do... My original thought was to do as Gok suggested and sell of my 2010 Trapezoid Grimlock so I could get MP-03 Grimlock for the uniform box design to go with Soundwave and Acid Storm. But after a quick look, I prefer my 2010, and I don't think I'm THAT keen for the box. I could maybe sell the 2014 Figure in the 2010 package, but would anyone want that? I guess it would be fine for people who throw out the boxes anyway. Otherwise I guess it's a returner...? Not sure what grounds TRU allow for returns.

Yup unless I want to display both modes I think I may be keeping my takara one after all.

1) WOW what an imposing figure! I didn't quite realise how large he was!
2) WOW it really is quite loose... :( Not just in the hips....
Oh well I'm still pretty excited by having a gigantic t-rex too intimidate the others :p I might post some more thoughts in the review section.

I mean I can have a ebay seller ship to me cheaper than what they offer so unless I get it on the shelves I am not better off at all.

I think limited release like these should have a proper release date so collectors are aware of the exact date they are coming out and there should be a purchase limit of 1 per person unless you queue up again.
Footlocker do this pretty well with the limited releases and the Jordan retros and it's a pretty good model to follow for TRU.

I like to update on the reviews accuracy on legs. The tt version on mine are loose as well but everything else with the sharper teeth is still good.
The plastic still didn't look as solid either on the grey.
And no crown which you must have the dumb crown coin they called.

that's primarily why I was so keen. the only major difference with the takara one seems to be the teeth and claws are slightly sharper and colour of the grey plastic and the colour of the transparent stuff, that's it. the 2010 hasbro one seems to have like 3 more paint applications.
as I don't have any other versions I was pretty happy to snap this up at $130 without shipping :)

Increased quantity may gain them a marginal discount (like some store-chains here get), but not by a significant amount.
We've occasionally seen how cheap Hasbro can sell stock here... sometimes rivalling American prices on the more expensive general-release items and excess foreign stock, but when the prices are double what they cost in America, it is sometimes hard to point fingers at the culprit without seeing wholesale price listings or retailer invoices.
But the one thing to keep in mind is that each toy sold here and in other non-American countries, have to pay a commission back to Hasbro America on top of their own profit margins (which is why Hasbro America's International revenue and profit are significant portions of their quarterly financial statements (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/conventions-15/tfw2005-coverage-of-hasbro-second-quarter-2014-earnings-conference-call-180748/)).
It's annoying, but while Hasbro is an American company that is listed on the stock exchange (which puts shareholders dividends before the best interests of the company by appealing to more consumers), our wholesale prices here will remain about double the wholesale prices of American stores... and only adjusted according to what our retailers are happy to accept. :(
