Good to see some G1 happening.

@ Trent , Is that the die-cast version? Looks sweet!. (i have a customized plastic one but I have never pulled it out of the box) Im always impressed how they managed to keep the doors and hoods opening as they're supposed to on those things... Now to get a real one:p:rolleyes:

That is correct chum. Mirage was an alternators release only.

Nope. And Hot Rod was released as KISS Players and then as an SDCC (I think) exclusive.

Hmm, I can't remember what I posted in the April thread, but...

Masterpiece Lambor (MP-12) x 2, Masterpiece Lambor G2 ver. (MP-12G) x1, Masterpiece Soundblaster w/Ratbat (MP-13B) x1, Generations Cosmos/Payload, Armada Unicron (missing one small hip-covering piece, but perfect for alt-mode display), Takara Mega-SCF Starscream (for display sans-crown, cape, etc).

And I think that's it!

Coming up? I've got a Takara MP-13 Soundwave (2nd run) on it's way).

Not Mirage. He was only ever released in plastic in Binaltech, and ONLY in clear-transparent plastic (http://m1.miiduu.com/store1/21201/image/cache/data/TFS/1188045866-320x320.jpg). :( I totally would've bought Alternators Mirage if that toy was released here. Sadly it wasn't. :(

If anyone has a spare Alternators Mirage, I would seriously consider a swap for my BT Mirage. Clear-transparent "invisibility" toys really aren't my thing, but I know some people dig it. :o

No. That mould was released in Japan as KISS Players Rodimus (http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/4/4f/KPHotRodimus.jpg) -- also plastic like the Alternators toy (so I just picked up the latter at Kmart :p).

Picked up AOE Slug and Scorn today. Passed on the other two. Not really liking Slug but Scorn is a nice figure.

And so ends my AOE figure collecting although may pic one up if im board later on.

I'm inclined to agree with you. :) IMO the designs of the AoE Dinobots are somewhere in between Beast Wars and Beast Machines -- not quite as bad as BM (because at least you can immediately tell what the beast modes are meant to be :p), but not as good as Beast Wars.

People who dislike both BW and BM would do well to steer clear of these toys altogether.

Spotted the new AOE wave at Kmart this arvo. $49 for Voyager Grimlock is a bit high for me until i see some reviews/pics, so i picked up Construct-Bots Grimlock instead for $19. The box art makes him look gold in colour but he's closer to burnt orange. I really like the set, both for the price and the design, and will pick up the rest of the Construct-Bots Dinobots later in the week.

Takara Transformers Masterpiece MP-13 Soundwave/Laserbeak

So, I caved. Now? To find a way to display him, with Soundblaster that has him looking different from my two Hasbro Masterpiece Soundwaves...

Thank god I (almost) exclusively collect Masterpieces, and it's gradually transferred from Hasbro to Takara.

As for a QC issue with him, I had to disassemble the right forearm to reposition the clear piece that Laserbeak attaches to - it wasn't hitting the base of the wrist (where it swivels) properly, so the right hand was floppy. All good now.

The latest issue of the club magazine arrived yesterday.

interestingly above my address it says "none" my wife is pretty sure it usually has a membership number there.
has anyone else noticed this? it's a little concerning since I'm a paid member for this year and expecting to log in a buy a Botcon ticket in the next day or two.

Technically some of these arrived in April
Firstly I have MP 10 and MP 11 from the wonderful Ploughmans Lunch. Did me a great deal on them both which is much appreciated.

Secondly is this lot which I picked up today. I went to just get Thundercracker but on the way out grabbed some extra cash "just in case". The guy wanted to sell some of his doubles as a result I walked away with this lot for $245 total.
I would have got more but I ran out of money.

I am not overly fussed on the looks of the TF4 figures, but SCORN stood out and appealed to me.
Although I dont mind him, I'm fairly sure I wont be getting any others (especially after actually seeing wave 1 at KMart).

Not sure if I should pick up that action battler strafe to go with these guys. I'm hoping he should be in a deluxe wave soon? So he's actually a transformer and not some gimmick crud.

Strafe is in the second wave of AOE deluxes (with Slash and Drift) according to the New York toy fair reports.

Should have a black 1x1 lego block with a stud spot out the side.... You know, like a cars headlight holder.

Mine had a half hight block with no side stud spot.

Actually, jaguars got one too.... So look at his instructions if I wasn't clear

Busy week for me, got all released deluxe and voyager TF4 figures. ordered rhinox and whirl, also picked up goldfire and dreadwing generations.. and found someone willing to sell a beast hunters prowl.

Got the 3 "new" legend class Transformers released. Whilst they use a past mould I am impressed with package art. Also gives people a chance to get these figures if they missed out.

Was able to complete my latest microchanger wave as well so very happy! Got all these figures at Target, which was good to see as I have only been able to pickup kreo microchangers at Big W thus far which made it scarce to acheive full sets, good news for us collectors that the spread is improving :D

For those enjoy collecting Legends Class figures like myself, i noticed two different paint apps while browsing tonight; Bumblebee has either a red or a plain black outline Autobot symbol & Optimus either has or doesn't have his Autobot symbol on his left shoulder

Picked up deluxe Slug and Scorn, OSC Grimlock, and Voyager Grimlock on Friday, then exchanged Voyager Grimlock due to an instant breakage yesterday. New Grimlock is fine quality wise and I'm very happy with all four.

How did the instant breakage happen out of curiosity? Something was already wrong with it in the packaging? Just curious if he has a week part etc.

The first time I transformed him one of the tabs that connects the dino head to the body broke. I took him back as it was literally the first time, but it might have been me that broke it. I think others have mentioned seeing stress marks on those parts in the review thread.

That doesn't make it OK to be charged that sort of money for a deluxe.

It's unfortunate that pricing changes so much from Country to country even over such a small distance as from Aus to NZ. I realise there are plenty of factors involved, volume being one but it's got to be cheaper to import things like Transformers into NZ.

Retail in New Zealand is $35 for Deluxes, a $5 increase on Prime toys.
Toyworld is known for its price hikes, and I passed on the information to my local store on their inflated prices.

However, Kmart is charging $39 as well

FYI - I did not pay $40, I paid $28 which was 'ok'

Seeming as Target had a toy sale, I got some spare cash. And GoktimusPrime's (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/member.php?u=6) Reviews and Action Pose (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=773&page=244) images were so good. I had to jump on the wagon and get Crosshairs (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=414600&postcount=14) and Bee (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=18454). Really happy with them. I also had to grab Little Op, after sifting threw 20 of them, I managed to find one without the Autobot Insignia on his shoulder.

Nice find. I thought some wave 2 might start to peep out.

I looked at Drift and couldn't tell it was a Generations toy or some other class. It wasn't until I scrolled and saw Slash that I got it.

Well they have been coming out on some posts in Facebook, from toyshops in Phils. mebbe Aus gets to release it first like those other figures (can't remember which was it. Would be nice if it did. :D I'm after Strafe as well.

Damn, so jelly! I went out hunting these guys today with no luck.

How ever I had a nice package in the mail from LJ7369. I purchased them off his sale thread (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=16840). They need a little dusting, but fantastic figures none the less. So wrapped, been after them for a fair while :D

I'm just looking at their site now and I'm a bit confused by the pricing. sideswipe and red alert are 16,500 yen which is roughly $174 AU. that seems to be just over double the US price on a few stores! However the G2 sideswipe is much cheaper.

They also have 2 listings for masterpiece soundwave, one at $280 AU and one at $153 but there is nothing I can see different in the descriptions. Am I missing something??

Thanks for the correction :p Yep I was thinking the same thing (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=17907&page=2). I'm not big on the MP-line, but have not come across drastic differences in the two Soundwave editions to justify such a difference. They do seem to have a sweet deal on MP22 (http://www.nippon-yasan.com/figures-transformers/7148-transformers-masterpiece-mp22-ultra-magnus.html), so maybe they're improving their prices as they negotiate better with Takara.
