i think its to make up for the all the white...
just looking at the figure, the arms and legs are so dull - compared to Springer last year which really pops out with the yellow and green and all the mold detail.

Backpack Supreme should be its name. Bit dull.

Looks nice. Only thing I don't like is the lack of red on the ankles and the chest cockpit being clear, rather than a light blue, though the pictures all look a bit dulled themselves, even the background.

That's come out great since protos. Like it and hope it gets local release ;)

Just looks bland, and I would prefer more red. Don't like the red chrome on the weapons, the bling makes him look cheap. Would of preferred just red with some black. Well while I'm complaining Im going to pick it up anyway , hopefully we can get some interesting repaints, as there are probably heaps of potential candidates.
Fingers crossed the next leader class figure is awesome :D

I like it. If I ever see it on a shelf I'm more likely to buy this than I ever was with Metroplex.

Noob question, when is his release date? Q3 or something?

I think that alt mode is the best part. It's just looks so badass and such a cool modern interpretation of the original jet. And nicely sidesteps any infringement problems in the process

It sure does.
Hasbro need not worry about Harmony Gold either; they won't be able to take them to court for the same thing if it happens again.

It's an excellent time for me too, as my birthday is in August, so I'll have some cash to buy this guy and some others. I don't know exactly when the deluxes come out, but I'd like to get that Nightbeat as well. :)

Me to aye, I'm about to dump a load of money on some figures. And head out and grab the new Dinobots when I can find them. So the delay till August I welcome at the moment hah.

I'm with some people here in that it looks rather bland (just look at his all-white legs), the nose cone doesn't sit well with me, and the vacuumized paint on the weapons is unnecessary IMO. It simply doesn't offer anything over the Voyager aside from scale. Unfortunate pass for me :( (if you could call it 'unfortunate' considering I have the voyager which is one of the best Generations toys ever :D )

I'll definitely buy it if it comes out locally. But it doesn't compel me enough to want to import it.

I still don't know if I want to pay $100 for this guy. Hope there's an introductory sales price, a little like FE Op.

Preorder now up at RK. $60 USD before shipping may be a little steep for me though:

Maybe it's all the third party purchases in the past year, but $60 for a Leader Class doesn't seem over the top?
I guess I revisited that thought once reviews are out, and depending on how intricate/intuitive his transformation is - my main yardstick for a mould's value. The initial pics does make him look hollow-er (see inside thigh). Overall aesthetics and proportions does school the current third party offerings.

At the current exchange rate, AU$60 works out to roughly 30GBP. Given that I used to easily hand over 40GBP for a leader when living in the UK, that actually works out as a price reduction for me!

All that says to me is that MP cars are overpriced for what they are. Alternators were twice the size, just as well engineered (if not better), and $10-$20 less. For $60 a pop, I want all die cast with rubber tires

http://www.toycollectors.com.au/myday.jpgLol yep :)
Who volunteers to go back in time and hand Takara a MP-12 and MP-17 and say 'make it'? And if Takara took the new MPs as inspiration i wonder if they still would have enlarged them and added rubber tyres? Or would they like the 'smaller, cheaper' idea enough to just sell them for $30.

I actually like plastic tyres. I am so scared off from rubber tyres because of CR/RID that I prefer the plastic tyres that will last for decades.

Maybe the same time-travelling board-member can visit Takara and warn them of this (http://tformers.com/ig.php?mode=view&album=23259&pic=prime-12.jpg&dispsize=600&start=0&sl=target-exclusive-age-of-extinction-figure-sets-construct-bots-new-images) and to stop it at all costs :p

It was AUD $95
Seeing though some places still charge $100 for leader class figures at Aussie retail, I was pretty happy with this price.

That's not bad, though I hope he goes on sale price, similar to FE AOE Optimus Prime. He goes for a bit lower than $100 at some stores. Nevertheless, I'm still happy to pay full retail for this guy.;)
