TRU TF4 Movie Deluxe sale AND 50% off second figure

Went to Chaddy today and AOE wave 2 deluxe is out. Toy R Us has them for $23.99 catalogue price but I mentioned that their website had a banner for "buy 1 and get the next 1 half price". Sales rep checked with their manager and was able to honor the deal. Got Strafe and Slash for $36.

The big banner says its only for Marvel Titans, but the smaller banner doesn't say what it is for... but when you click on it, it comes up with four Marvel Titan products AND the TF4 Movie Deluxes (http://www.toysrus.com.au/www/732/1001127/search.asp?frombox=true&searchstring=31857%2C+38011%2C+38064%2C+38175%2C+3 8177&selecttype=2).
PLUS, since the TF4 Movie Deluxes are on sale ($24 instead of $30), if you buy two, you get one for $12... adding up to $36 for the pair. A total saving of $24.
If it is an error on the part of Head Office, use it before they fix it.

I won't be able to get to any Toys R Us stores before sunday night/Monday morning. but I'd really love to take advantage of this chance to grab cheaper AOE stuff

Just came back from local TRU, no need to ask manager as it automatically scanned at $36 for a pair of Deluxes :)

I added two in to cart, the first item showing up $23.99 but the second item is only showing at $9.99. That make's both items at a total of $34 + shipping. Must be an error I say.

Just went to TRU and thought that I would only get one pair discounted, as I only wanted three Deluxes (wave 2 only has 3)... but all three came up as $15 each.

Each Deluxe is normally $30, but are currently on sale for $24.
The offer is supposed to be - buy one and get one at half price (which would either be $12 or $15, depending on which price the offer refers to).
And it should only apply to pairs, but for me it looks like the computer (register) applied the discount for any amount after buying 2.
(the register beeped when one was scanned, alerting the staff-member to check the catalogue and enter in a code... but maybe the wrong code was entered in)

So instead of an expected $60 (24 + 12 + 24), I was only charged $45.
That's half price for all figures. (full price at TRU would be $90)

Not sure how... but I wasn't complaining.

If it is normal, I again recommend getting these before it is fixed (or ends).

I tried carting them on the website, and it isn't discounting the second one... so maybe they did just fix it.
(maybe they were spying on this site... then again, if they were spying, they would have responded to the news posting of Australian Exclusives, which had them emailing me to say that they don't have any exclusives coming)

Offer was working at 1.30pm at TRU Liverpool but W2 deluxes didnt scan so they scanned a W1 deluxe I had 3 times.

Got Slash and Strafe from Liverpool TRU, they didn't scan so I got them for a little cheaper than the sale price, as they didn't know the correct price :D:o

Just went to TRU Moore Park. Also wouldn't have a bar of the 2nd item half price gig. Real shame. Looks like they figured out their slip up in the afternoon. I bought 4 deluxes and the register chick who served me looked like she just scanned 1 deluxe and multipled it by 4 rather than scanning each package individually. Maybe that prevented the system from picking up the second item half price glitch....

It only works with Wave 2 because they aren't in the system, and only if the operator types in the product code from the catalogue (have one in hand to "offer" to use when at the register) without double-checking to see if the price is even the same as the one in the catalogue.
If you have a Wave 1 Deluxe, they will just use that price because it scans up... or if they call up someone to do a price check, you will also end up with Wave 1 pricing.
This is why you need a catalogue on hand (grab one when you walk into the store) and only buy Wave 2 figures while this glitch is in play.

Ravagecat sent me a message that it worked for him at 7.30pm, and Justowen got all three as well at 8.30 (while I was with him).

That said, it isn't advisable to try to scam them into getting Wave 1 Deluxes for $15 if the check-out Operator isn't scanning all the items you bring to the counter, or complain if they follow a different procedure when items don't scan.
Benefit from this one-off, minor glitch if you can, but don't abuse it, or draw too much attention to it.

Ha! I hadn't read that post and didn't have a catalog with me but that's EXACTLY what happened to me at TRU in Chadstone yesterday! They wouldn't scan so the lass checked out a catalog and I got Strafe, Slash and Drift for $15 a piece! :D
