Images aren't good and there might be more to come (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-masterpiece-47/tokyo-toy-show-first-shots-of-masterpiece-ultra-magnus-cloud-shockwave-and-rodimus-180295/), but we get our first look at Cloud Shockwave and Rodimus (which were the two moulds we had seen in artwork - Springer & Whirl), the new Legends (Generations) Beasts, and a coloured MP Ultra Magnus... along with the Evangelian Optimus, plus movie toys on display.

I will update this first post with better links if people post them up in this topic.

Rodimus is a must! I wouldn't say Magnus is great. Shockwave looks silly. First time I have seen Ad-20 Grimlock which is a relief as it's looking better than the Hasbro version. Lockdown looks great.

Not loving the proportions on Magnus. I hope theres a mistransform somewhere but its unlikely given that it is the Tokyo Toy Show.

Need to see what they've done for car mode Rodimus before I can get all judgey

Magnus' leg (left of frame, his right leg) is bent at the knee, but doesn't look it as it's dead on. That's one thing that doesn't make it look great!

Rodimus looks great. Definitely need him. $57 AUD is really good for that, but I won't pay the $100 imported price. Might put him on the list for when I go to Japan next year.

MP Magnus looks alright, but not as good as I thought he'd look. The face is all wrong to me. It might just be camera angle and pose, etc, so I'll reserve judgement for some official pics.

Yeah he looks mistransformed. The official pics can't be to far off

Shockwave is delicious.

Some clearer photos, but still nothing close up (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-masterpiece-47/new-color-picture-of-masterpiece-ultra-magnus-and-tokyo-toy-show-180301/), including the Sega Megatron.
The Movie Gimmick Grimlocks have a lot more silver on them than the Hasbro ones.

Some clearer pics of (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/japanese-transformers-40/tokyo-toy-show-friday-round-up-more-mp-ultra-magnus-pics-180318/)Cloud Shockwave & Rodimus, plus a couple of "QT" (cutie) Transformers - Movie Bumblebee & Optimus, that look to be spring-loaded (one-step) into a deformed robot mode.
Also images of MP figures, but they are being discussed more in their own News topics.

I like Magnus' face a lot more now. It's perfect.

Really not feeling it for these Cloud things. Shockwave looks as crap as Whirl and Hot Rod looks way too buff. His vehicle mode would be all over the place as well.

I think he looks heroic. but I do agree his vehicle modes are...

Quite a few extra photos of the display (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/japanese-transformers-40/tokyo-toy-show-saturday-roundup-from-masabon-180334/), and that they were advance selling the next two Advanced toys - Autobot Dino & Darkside Soundwave.

Man that is forced. Is it Shockwave just because the mold has one eye?. Did Whirl and Shockwave share similar bodies in a comic I never read?

Possibly - do you remember reading this?

I actually like Rodimus, but would like him better if he didn't have helicopter parts coming out of the knees.

The latest body for IDW Shockwave is his FoC body. Note that FoC is part of the Prime universe not G1, Hasbro/Activision/IDW have just confused the issue by using that same style in different universes.

IDW Whirl on the other hand is a stylised design and only shares his one eye and claw hands with Shockwave. Also Whirl's Voyager toy looks nothing like IDW Whirl except for the claw hands, eye and chicken legs.

I really think Cloud Shockwave is forced.

Yeah, no. These cloud toys feel like expensive forced Hasbro repaints to me, the rest looks good though.

That Shockwave is terrible even within a 'freshly done empurata' context. What a lazy ass repaint, reminds me of Hasbro's dodgy old repaint tactics. Plus the mold is less than good due to silly unrefined designed choices.

I thought Rodimus would work well as a Springer repaint but he does not. looks off.

Nah, not worth it for me.

Only real interesting toy for me is Rattrap.

Rodimus looks great in robot mode but don't think I'd shell out that much for a Rodimus that turns into a helicopter. Shockwave is just stupid - I pick up most Shockwaves but I'll definetly skip this!

Could the Shockwave perhaps be in homage to the Transformers 2007 Movie game that featured an attack helicopter Shockwave (http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/6/65/Tf2007console_shockwave.jpg)?

Don't mind that Rodimus either.

I am digging Rodimus. He comes off looking like he is from MTMTE. He could also work as a Rodimus Prime when put next to Classics Rodimus.

May be tempted.....

Oh, is that 'laser gun mode'? Looks more like some other mode from a naughty site. Guess that's my dirty mind, lol :o:o:D;)
