Those Legions on the front page are the same as the old ROTF ones that BigW was selling in the day for $2.98. I'd be very surprised if Stinger would be part of these $5 ones.

They would have just used Optimus and Bbee on the cover because they are so recognisable to the general public, but Stinger and Grimlock are in the first wave... so they "should" have them. (considering the wait we have for a Stinger toy in the mainline, at least we should have one released BEFORE the movie for kids to play with)

I grabbed a Crazy Coupe truck for my nephew thanks to the rewards card deal.

Most lego sets (other than the big ones: Simpsons, Opera House, Seacow etc) were on display but there was sweet FA for Transformers and Ninja Turtles, but the van was available for $49 or something at my local.

Will be interesting to see when more stock makes it to the shelves as we close in on the sale start.

My local Big W was a mess as all the toys were spread throughout the whole store! And it was really hard to shop without a catalogue unless you know what you're looking for. Only after you grab the toys and go to the counter to pay, scan your everyday rewards card only did u know if the item was on sale. Plus the sales girl said only 50% of the stock was in stores.

The online lay by last night was heaps easier though. Good for other toys but not TFs when you want to pick and scrutinise the figures. :p

The Party Van showed up about 30mins into the sale :rolleyes:, but it's a Donnie & Raph I most want as I wish to pilfer a new Belt & Sai for my ORIGINAL Donnie & Raph respectively (They were originally Paulbot's childhood toys :cool:). :o

Look for a pre-stocked two-way of TMNT stuff - one side is big plush toys (also in the catalogue), the other is retro figures. :)

He probably won't be listed on the site. If two or more items share the same keycode they are normally not listed on the site. Thats why you can't find most Transformers listed.

Tried to buy some lego on Wed and after a bit of a wait to get in added some items to cart and tried to pay but the checkout took me to layby which said pickup/delivery from Nov? Got the $5 Legion Grimlock last night but it's soooooo not Grimlock. Might take it back. Stinger is passable but both a very poor effort on Hasbro's part.

No, they are just old molds. Grimlock is using the Beast Hunters Rippersnapper Legion and Stinger is using the Prime Knockout Legion. BB and Op are just the same ol tripe from the 2007 movie I think. BigW were selling these exact BB and Op ones for $2.98 a year or so ago.;)

It's 6" scale. While overpriced (everywhere, by Mattel), the Big W price represents a pretty good buy of this TRU-US exclusive.

Robin was only available in a two pack. I bought a second two pack (I have the whole 66 series that have been released so far) purely to display inside the Batmobile, as the two-pack have wires in the capes (which I've since removed) to display them "walking up the wall" on its side, as the show was shot.

However, Robin has never had a carded release (notice he's not on the back card!) individually.

AFAIK (from what I've seen) the Big W case assortment only includes wave 1 (Batman, Penguin, Riddler), and not wave 2 (Joker and Surf's Up Batman) or wave 3 (Catwoman), nor the two pack.

BBTS seems to have Catwoman (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=MAT15326&mode=retail) and Joker (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=MAT15240&mode=retail) in stock, as well as the complete wave 1 and 2 (no Catwoman!) My thoughts? Return the figures to Big W ($30? LAME!) and buy the complete set of wave 1 and 2, plus the Catwoman figure from BBTS, POL it to arrive whenever, and try to chase up the two pack from eBay or somewhere.

Definitely buy the Batmobile from Big W - shipping from an international seller is far too much to bother about when you can get it locally cheaper by the end of it all - totally the opposite of the figures!

Well... Yvonne Craig has signed a deal (a few months back IIRC) for her likeness as Batgirl. Haven't heard anything from Mattel, but I would figure they could get by with some re-use of the Catwoman mold to an extent.

And that would make me very happy indeed.

My first impression was WOW that's big. But then picked up the box & realised just his light the Batmobile is. My biggest gripe is the lack of consistency of the paint app for the greater detail components. Not for me.

Next, off to the game section to get my ROTDS PS3 game pricematched to Kmarts $44. After 10 minutes with the kiosk girl faffing about looking at the Kmart catalogue then writing stuff down in the 'markdown book', she scanned it and it was already $44in the system.....sheeeesh!:eek::confused:

I notice you got the DOTM Bumblebee. I had to stop myself from telling a couple of kids buying one yesterday that it was a 3 year old told. I wonder how many people will get home and realise it's the same as the one they bought their kid 3 years ago.

Big W had changed their AOE leader prices to match Kmart's $59.

So if you're looking for any particular one and can't find them at Kmart, go to Big W. Though there seems to be more on Kmart shelves than Big W.

Went down to my local Big W today to grab a Donnie & Raph 80s figure; The entire display/palette had been wiped bare! :eek::(

The only thing left was a Backing Card from a figure that had been stolen! :mad: - As if just to rub my face in it. :(

I DID however see the Party Van, as there were plenty, but I just couldn't justify the price nor the space it'd take up once I had it in-hand... :o

All in all a pretty crappy trip to the Mall for me today.

It seems that Sinnertwin was lucky in finding the Shockwave 2-pack as the stores I've been to only have the Optimus 2-pack. The one I was at today had 14 of them.

Man, I feel your pain. My hunt for the TMNT retro figs ended up the same way. Except, my Big W didn't even have a space allocated for them, or any indication they had/or were getting in any. :(
