Hey everyone
I recently discovered that I have absolutely no representations of our favorite flying 'cons, and was wondering which version/interpretation you think looks the best and does the part. Please keep in mind that I don't have much money- which is why I am having trouble deciding.

I'd recommend getting the Classicsverse Deluxe Seekers. Here are the Seekers and the non-exclusive (i.e. regular mass store release) versions of them:
+ Starscream: Classics (http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/b/b1/ClassicsStarscream_toy.jpg), Henkei (https://http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/f/f9/Henkei_Starscream_toy.jpg), Universe (http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/8/89/Universe2008_deluxe_G1Starscream.jpg)
+ Skywarp: Classics (http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/f/fe/Class06-toy_Skywarp.jpg)
+ Thundercracker: Generations (http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/d/db/Genthundercracker.JPG)
+ Dirge: Generations (http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/b/b6/Generations-toy_Dirge.jpg)
+ Ramjet: Classics (http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/0/0c/Classics_Ramjet_toy.jpg), Henkei (http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/9/9f/Henkei_Ramjet_toy.jpg)
+ Thrust: Generations (http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/9/90/Generations-toy_Thrust.jpg)

I hope you can find them for RRP ($25-30) or less. :o

Rather than buy them piece by piece, try & get the Henkei Ace & Elite seeker sets. Shop around & be sure to compare prices including shipping

I was considering buying those tetrajets, but after watching some reviews they looked... ech. I guess I'll just have to try and get the CHUG seekers, seems the most logical option...

I'd say get the Ace's sets.

I have the original Henkei which are similar to the Ace's and they are super nice. But do not buy the the original Henkei version today. Some of the more expensive ones (if not all of them) in that packaging have been KOed. It's not worth spending big money on them when there is a chance it's a cheep crappy KO.

The Ace's sets are the way to go.

This. Matching, superior painjobs. $40 each if you buy the set. Best way.

My opinion about getting the Aces set...

Pros:
+ Getting all the Seekers together saves time trying to hunt them down individually. <---much more convenient!
+ Postage cost may be cheaper (i.e. paying for both Aces set to be sent in one parcel vs. paying for potentially 6 different parcels if you get the Seekers individually from separate buyers).
+ More 'unified' visual aesthetics.
+ Don't have to worry about counterfeits (I'm assuming that the Aces sets haven't been KOed yet)

Con:
- At $40 a toy, it works out to be $10-15 more expensive than collecting the Seekers individually at RRP.
- Postage cost may be negated if you can find these toys at local collectable fairs, although finding them would pretty much be based on sheer luck. :o

It seems that the pros outweigh the cons, so getting the Aces set may be the way to go. :)

It depends on whether you want a complete set, just the season 1 seekers, or just the season 1 and coneheads. Honestly, you're going to struggle to get a complete set (including Sunstorm, Acid Storm, and... the blue one) out of any single line or mold set. If your goal is simply to have one of every character, you could do what I did at one point, and get each one in a unique mold. I still regret selling that set. :(

Can't say I'm aware of anywhere you can still get these at RRP.

^This. Skywarp has gone off the charts for even the Classics version. Starscream is just as bad. Thundercracker is pretty cheap though.

Yeah, I'd just grab the Aces set, assuming you can drop $250-$300 for a full set.

That said, my planned Seekers line-up is as follows:
Starscream - Classics, though if I ever find a cheap loose MP11 then he'll be replaced
Thundercracker & Skywarp - Robot Masters
Dirge, Thrust, Ramjet - G1 reissue

If you're low on spare cash, just build them up slowly over time.

Yeah Gok. I'm all for a good price but paying RRP for Classics, that boat has long since sailed. Cheapest Classics Starscream on ebay is $47 with $42 shipping.

Oh and a lot of Henkei Ghost Starscream's came up in that search, dam it's hard to tell if any of them are not KOs.

I would keep an eye on our sales thread as I have seen a few sold there lately or post up a wants thread.

And Gok, you always make me chuckle with your RRP obsession

Private sales, collectors fairs, conventions etc. As I mentioned before, luck does play a big part in it and it can be quite time consuming. I refused to pay above RRP for Alternators Mirage which never came out here - and you all know that I don't touch eBay - but I finally found one at RRP at the recent Sydney SupaNova! It only took me eight years to find one! :p :p

As I conceded in my previous post, getting the Aces set may be pricier, but it is more reliable, less time consuming and convenient than my typical method. However octopunchshotfisrt did mention in post #1...

Please keep in mind that I don't have much money- which is why I am having trouble deciding.
...hence my recommendation for trying to find the toys at cheaper prices, although it may be more difficult and time consuming. At $40 a pop, the whole set is going to cost $60-90 more than what these toys originally sold for. So it all depends if octopunchshotfisrt is willing to bide his time and take the risk of trying to find these toys at RRP or less, or if he'd rather just spend the extra money and get it over and done with quickly and easily. :o And as I did mention before, getting the Aces set should be cheaper on postage as opposed to getting the toys individually from online sources.

I sold my Classics Skywarp for under RRP. ;) Although admittedly it was loose complete. But that's another option for octopunchshotfisrt, if he doesn't care about whether the toys are mint sealed or loose complete, then perhaps trying to find them loose complete ought to be cheaper. Again, it may be time more time consuming as you'd have to track each Seeker down individually.
