Hey guys. I'm wondering if someone with a MP Soundwave can help me out. I'm interested in getting MP Soundwave, but was wondering how well he's made? The only MPs I have are Prowl and YOTH Optimus. I love the make of the MP-10 mold, but I'm kinda disappointed with Prowl (and I guess the rest of the MP cars because of it).
Would anyone who has an MP-10 and NP Soundwave say they're built relatively the same way? I ask, because I feel like the MP-10 in-hand is a figure that was made to last as a toy to be played with, but the MP Prowl (and cars) feel too fragile for excessive play.
as you can tell, I have the philosophy that toys were meant to be played with, lol.
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read and answer me.
Cheers.

Soundwave is one of the sturdier Masterpieces. Definitely more like Optimus than Prowl.

I have the Hasbro MP Soundwave. I love it and it is a very solid build. I play with mine posing them differently at least once a week :D
Strongly recommend him and far from fragile!
I don't have MP10 but have MP01 and has that real solid build about him. All of the latest are so bad, but SW is very well built, poseable and playable.
As a guage (in my opinion);
MP01 is solid rock to play with!
Soundwave is a must buy!
The cars aren't bad to pose and play with regularly.
MP05 Megatron is the worst MP made.. can't touch him after spending 30 mins trying to pose him effectively.
Hope that answers your question.

Only weakness of soundwave is the fingers.

He's not quite as solid as MP10, but he'll easily stand up to reasonable handling and then some.
Things to watch are his legs - calf side-flaps and hip joints - and his internal tape-storage mechanism, which is apparently quite delicate.
Also, apparently his index finger pops off quite easily, but it also pops on again just as easily. Much like MP10.:)

Thanks guys! Your reviews are sounding very promising. If he's a solid toy like you guys suggest, the $150 price point sounds pretty reasonable. Feels like I'm gonna have to start saving for Soundwave now. Oh my wallet's gonna hate you guys. lol.

I think it'd be worthwhile to throw in a few more dollars for the Hasbro version with extra cassette minions.

If you can still get him for $150 go for it!

Definitely. Although that may not be so easy these days

Yes the index finger in particular.
I have 3 version (Hasbro, Takara (both SW & SB)) and he is one of my favourite figures. A must have for any TF collector.

I got him and he's pretty bulky, not hugely posable but I'm a massive fan all the same. Laserbeak though - he's pretty flimsy.

Agreed; all other areas, facets, appendages are superior.:D

He can be posed to press his own cassette eject button. I think that alone sold me on MP Soundwave.

To be fair, so can the voyager FoC Soundwave. :p

erm.... you can add to that the plastic tab at the bottom of his clear chest piece. it's such a thin and small piece considering it holds the chest and that's where the spring load is which they should've made it thicker... watch out for cracks on that part...

My Laserbeak's fine, although I'm always careful with the fins. :o And I find Soundwave to be plenty posable! :D

Imo He is easily the best one made. Tight lims, good posability and looks great in both modes. Imo him and mp 10 O.P. are the best that I've seen
