Three sets this year, and SDCC starts in just one week (23rd in America), so Hasbro have released the official images (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.678705728866291.1073741890.146805978722938&type=1)... most of which we've seen released through news websites already.

Knights of Unicron Transformers set - US$184.99
Deluxe 4-pack of Fall of Cybertron moulds - Optimus Prime, Jazz (with Animated Ratbat), Megatron (with Animated Laserbeak), Soundwave. Plus display boxes and "tour memorabilia", including a history booklet of the band and song lyrics.

Dinobots Action Figure Collection – US$159.99
Four-pack of Movie Dinobots in Gen1 colours - Voyager Grimlock, Deluxe Strafe (as Swoop), Deluxe Snarl, Deluxe Slug (as Slag). Plus a giant fold-open diorama of the Ark and Teletran-1 in Mount St Hillary, created by the person who did the Transformers pop-up book last year. (a perfect display diorama for Gen1 and Beast Wars fans)

Transformers Kre-O Class of 1984 – US$59.99
Thirty non-converting Kreons to commemorate Thirty years of Transformers (not the first Thirty that came out in 1984), plus an assortment of Kre-O accessories that are 80s themed or the other three Decepticon Tapes from 1984 (Ravage, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw).
Autobots - Arcee, Bluestreak, Brawn, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Autobot Gears, Autobot Hound, Huffer, Ironhide, Autobot Jazz, Mirage, Optimus Prime, Perceptor, Prowl, Autobot Ratchet, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Trailcutter, Ultra Magnus, Wheeljack, Windcharger.
Decepticons - Decepticon Frenzy, Megatron, Decepticon Rumble, Shockwave, Skrapnel, Skywarp, Soundwave, Starscream, Thundercracker.

It is good to see that most of the names are currently in use, or at least being able to use their allegiance as a prefix. I had thought they had Trailbreaker back since there is a Microchanger Kreon coming out this year with the original name. It is just a shame that Shrapnel is also still "lost", because it's new name (Skrapnel) puts it after Sideswipe alphabetically... but if you look at the boxed picture, those two were not re-shuffled to match the names that are printed below their windows. So if the final version looks like that, there will be much complaining about those two having the wrong names under them.
It also looks to be based on the Cartoon universe, so they have Rumble blue and Frenzy red.

If you are planning on getting any of these, keep an eye on secondary sources from next weekend, like Ebay... or the Hasbro America Online store if you have a friend in America and they don't sell out during SDCC.

If Hasbro made equal quantities of each, I think the Dinobots set will sell out during SDCC, and maybe the Kreo set. I will be surprised if the Rock Band set sells out, since it's theme is more for the cultish fans and is so much more expensive than the Dinobots (which is also a 4-pack, but one toy is bigger in that set... and a much cooler diorama).

Dinobots Action Figure Collection – US$159.99
Four-pack of Movie Dinobots in Gen1 colours - Voyager Grimlock, Voyager Slog (as Sludge), Deluxe Snarl, Deluxe Slug (as Slag). Plus a giant fold-open diorama of the Ark and Teletran-1 in Mount St Hillary, created by the person who did the Transformers pop-up book last year. (a perfect display diorama for Gen1 and Beast Wars fans)

Isn't Swoop/Strafe in the dinobot collection? There's no Slog as Sludge repaint in the pictures.

I really want the Knights of Unicron set but not at that kinda of price for 4 deluxes. I hope they shelf warm like the ACG-CON Metroplex so I can get them for a good price.

Oops, got that one mixed up. Slog is indeed the one missing.

It's sad to say it... but US$185 is still cheaper than what four Deluxe BotCon at-show toys would cost you from FunPub, and you don't get all those extras.
(the Clone 2-pack was US$95, making it US$190 for four Deluxes)

Ouch. I saw a guy on ebay that only has a $95USD mark up on these and $30 shipping to Australia with a perfect ebay record. I might get them from him just to be sure I got them. Better than the $400ish prices some are charging on ebay for this set.

A couple of other pre-SDCC press releases...

From ToysRUs (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/conventions-15/masterpiece-prowl-and-sunstorm-first-release-sdcc-2014-180729/), who have held back the release of Masterpiece Prowl and Sunstorm to release them exclusively first at SDCC (which they did last year for Soundwave and Acid Storm).

And the Angry Birds people (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/video-games-17/sdcc-2014-angry-birds-transformers-official-press-release-180726/) will be showing off their upcoming projects (including Transformers) in an exhibit outside the Convention Centre, so that the general public can see it.

Title has been fixed... ;)

For anyone buying the Dinobot set, Hasbro have put up a video on their facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=683258961744301&fref=nf) to show the contents, and how easily it opens up as a diorama.

They also talk about the four toys, suggesting that the Movie trio were designed to be later used as Gen1 figures, by incorporating elements that homage the original 1985 toys. (things like, having certain body parts on the same mould tree, so that they could have transparent parts in odd places like the Gen1 toys had)

(For anyone who takes note of the different Hasbro people, Clint Chapman was the liaison at BotCon for 2012 and 2013, after Greg Lombardo left, but he too was supposed to have left this year... so maybe this was one of his last projects)

For those with a shipping forwarder or a friend in America, the Hasbro Shop has the two large SDCC sets on their site (http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/transformers?BR=496&PG=1&ST=NW), which they didn't sell out (if you see someone on ebay claiming that they did).
No Kreo set yet, so that one looks to have indeed sold out (as some on ebay were claiming).

Looks like they did have the Kreo set up and it didn't last long. (I should have put up this link for the SDCC search (http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/SearchResults.htm?SWD=sdcc&CDT=1407217568) instead of the Transformers search)

Just the Rockband left now of the Transformers items (which I had expected would be the last to sell out). Plus the MLP, Rom, and Jem items.

Some galleries are out there now of the Kreo set, and this one (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/kre-o-42/sdcc-2014-transformers-kre-o-class-of-1984-kreon-30-pack-photo-shoot-180939/) compares figures with any previous Kreon releases of those characters.

I find the quickest way to see the sdcc stuff is to click the link to exclusives on the left hand column.

Received the remaining two Transformers sets today, and there is so much in them, I could spend days taking photos of them, and comparisons... but since there are extensive galleries on Seibertron and TFW2005 already, these are all I took, so that I can get straight into playing with them. ;)

The three Transformers SDCC items (plus a MOTU Hordak).
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c027.jpg

The two bigger boxes I got today, which were packed inside one of the Hasbro bags that they've been giving out at SDCC in recent years (I see a fair few now being used by people at BotCon).
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c026.jpg

The Knights of Unicron set, with the lid open showing a card cover looking like an amp.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c028.jpg

Taking that lid off, you have all the non-toy "tour memorabilia".
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c029.jpg

All of those items are in a tray that can also be lifted out. The memorabilia items include a concert ticket, a VIP pass, two stickers, an LP record slip (inside is a piece of paper which has instructions, and song lyrics to 5 unique TF-related songs), two posters, and a history booklet of the band with lyrics to another song. So much time and resources were spent on this set, that could have been spent on designing another Generations toy or two.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c030.jpg

The toys in the foam slab.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c031.jpg

All the hair and "clothing" is pre-attached, and needs to ALL be removed before transforming. The hair pieces are attached with an elastic strap under their heads. Each has their original weapons, which feels a bit odd with the theme of this set.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c032.jpg

Onto the Dinobots set. Pulling out the inner box from the outer box. The instructions sheet is creative, but somewhat confusing with the steps laid out like a boardgame.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c033.jpg

Pulling out the back tray was a bit difficult with mine as the brown cardboard stuffer kept catching. So much bling...
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c034.jpg

Folding open the diorama was a bit scary at first, as it requires a bit of care, but doesn't stay open on its own so I kept thinking mine was faulty... but then found the velcro spots that attach and hold it open.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c035.jpg

And the other side. Very big. Aside from the Ark/Teletran set-up, the inclusion of Snarl before the regular version was released (or at least, available here), was the other highlight of this set.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c036.jpg

And then there is the smallest set... the cheapest set... but the highest markup set, selling now for almost double what it cost at SDCC.
The case opened up, showing both back and front.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c037.jpg

On the inside, and it was good to see that Sideswipe and Skrapnel/Shrapnel were fixed up since the pre-production sample images were released.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c038.jpg

Each character has a notation similar to yearbooks that sometimes have character comments of the graduating students (written by those doing the yearbook).
A close-up of the novelty accessories that have an 80s theme to them.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/c039.jpg

I was originally planning to pull out the Kreons for display, but when I opened up the right hand side, I decided against it after seeing how much they have been heat "sealed"... which you can see with the accessories, how much they are almost encased in the plastic. I didn't want to cut up the plastic tray, so will now just leave them in the box as a display piece.

That's an expensive haul. The kreons look nice, but not worth the doubled price tag they're going for now. The diorama looks really good.
