Hi all,

This is my 2nd attempt at customizing a transformer ever (my first was re-decoing Animated deluxe prime into a nemesis repaint many years ago).

I'm doing 3 of the Dinobot Construct-Bots. I went with the Construct-Bots because I feel they look more like bone representations, which I like.

Here's the first one that I've just completed (had some PTO time this week) - photos taken with my phone:

I notice that you shortened Slug's limbs.

Was it difficult to paint the gears on the inside of toys mechanism? Also are you going to dry brush the silver for a weathered effect? At the moment it looks like you've applied a base coat.

And perhaps an ink wash to shade all the crevasses.

Thanks for the feedback :D

I removed the shoulder and hip pieces in order to make him stockier and make his dino mode look decent.

Painting the gears wasn't as big an issue as I had thought it would be - just required a few coats and moving them (once dry) so other parts could be gotten to with the spray-paint.

Applying some silver for detailing is a great idea. I'll have to look up how to do it. I'm not a confident customiser or painter, but it sounds like it's worth a shot :)

Nice work for your second figure.
The feedback above sounds pretty constructive, I've seen work before where dry brushing adds massive amounts of detail that's otherwise hard to pick out.

I look forward to seeing all 3 of your dinobots as a group.

Awesome, drybrushing isn't as hard as it sounds
