Kids Logic Kids Nation Series Five Pack & Weapons

Hi, I am having a hard time exchanging the hands to the weapons on these small guys. As the hands are quite stiff. Should I just leave the weapons aside? And is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I have the original 6 inch Prime. Kids Logic does use tight ball joints at the wrist but the hands can come off with a reasonable amount of force, no worse than other figures that have interchangeable parts.
