New DBZ CCG- Panini

Not sure how many here used to play the old Score card game, as I know I never saw tournaments or any competitive play anywhere, but I know that others here on OTCA are/were at least collectors and may be interested in this news if they are not already aware of it.

I don't think the game had a huge following here in Australia, but the CCG is getting a revised release with new card images with mostly the same rules and conditions as the original. The company releasing them is called Panini, who are mostly known for doing Football (soccer) card or sticker collections.

Not sure on an exact date, or how to get the cards yet (hoping amazon or BBTS get them) but I'll post more here if there is any interest, I am getting most of my information from http://retrodbzccgcom.fatcow.com/. They have an extensive gallery of the new (and older score) cards as well as news and reviews.

Still have all my rares, foils, promos and personalities in a folder. Not sure where the rest have gone.

I've been bugging game traders and a few board game shops but it seems Panini do not have an Australian distributor so it works out easier to get them shipped from the USA. I got a box of starters and who boxes of boosters, hoping to get most of the rares that way then buy singles to complete.

Prices are a bit erratic, there is animeexchange based in QLD that are decently priced, but still marked up (as they should, got to make money if you run a shop!). Amazon can sometimes pop up some savings, but the place I use is Hill's Wholesale Gaming

Probably not the cheapest but they have excellent range, good prices, and ship to Australia directly. Most card shops that sell complete boxes do not ship here. Postage is the killer, I'll wait until I have time to open my second booster box and see if I need to make a second order with them, or I may risk it and order more when the next expansion arrives sometime early 2015.

Should have a second printing sometime soon, and I'd be happy to offload any doubles of starters I get from the box I ordered (10 starter decks per box, but 6 starting personalities....)

I have the super rare "super saiyan goku" foil from the frieza saga, I also have Broly from lvl 1 to lvl 6 in hard cases!

not sure what they are worth these days if anything.
I have the casule corp swords & rules somewhere, was actually thinking of getting rid of most of my cards from when i was younger. I never played the game.

Not a problem, once I have gained active member ship will PM you, tomorrow I'll write down what I have, not sure what most will be worth. I do know some of the character sets are worth alittle. Will let you know which char sets I have.
I know I have kid trunks lvl 1 - 4 with a spare lvl4 as a rare foil, majin buu (fat) lvl 1 - 4 same lvl 4 rare foil. Majin babidi 1 - 4, cell saga vegeta 1 - 3, vegitto lvl 1, gotenks lvl1 android saga goku 1 -3 broly uber rare set 1 - 6. Alot of odds lots of ally characters. Will post tomorrow guys.

Good morning Boys & Girls,

Like I promised I said that I would find all of my DBZ CCG cards, and post them up here for you to take a look!

All up I have found roughly 620 cards, from Ultra rare down to low life commons, surprisingly I got rid of almost all of my doubles, I seem to have only kept rare doubles or UR doubles (you shall see in photos as there will be 2 or more stacked upon one another) Cards have never been played with I was just an collector of all things DBZ when I was younger.

Without further delay and me waffling on please check linked images for all pictures, PM me if you have any questions can take closer shots of other cards Foils are a hassle to get a decent shot due to lighting.

Dragon ballz & Gt starter deck inserts, Goku - Cap corp set & Vegeta Cell saga
The clear inserts are the GT saga heroes which had a scouter of their own instead of the red or pink Z scouter from the "Z" sets. Lucky last is Gotenks lvl 1 these were quite rare for the "fusion saga" only released in the Buu saga sets I believe.

My Super Rare! Super saiyan Goku from the Frieza saga set - ( I remember getting this for Christmas in a single booster pack, immediately looking up its price in a "Becket" and seeing $250 as the going price at the time thinking I had won the lottery!"

Not sure what these things are... they look like DBZ bones from those jack games (the dragon ballz) are from figures would be cool counters for the game if you were using the Dragon Ball cards in play I guess.

Probably not, I also have a massive collection of World of Warcraft cards which will be in their thousands which I am currently trying to get rid of. Looking to get rid of a lot of my old card collections and things as they are just in boxes being unloved going to waste. I even found a small lot of Naruto cards today that I don't even remember buying it must have been just after the DBGT sets finished and I had nothing to collect so started with Naruto cards thinking they would be similar.

I'll be looking to get rid of all my DBZ/GT cards. It'll just be a matter of who is willing to buy them all off me as I don't think they are easy to find these days.

A bit annoyed, bought two boxes of boosters for the heroes and villains sets and not a single ultra rare.

Only bought one box of the he movie expansion, as I figure that except for ultra rares it is cheaper to fill in any gaps via anime exchange or eBay. After one box of boosters, I normally get 3-4 full sets of commons, 1-2 sets of uncommons and all but 6-10 rares.

Should get he movie set sometime in the next week. Looking forward to it.

Time to wait and hunt down the SDCC Golden Frieza.

I wonder if I should dig out all my old DBZ/GT cards, I have a ton of them including a few ubers (can't remember which exactly but a few attack cards and a Goku or 2).
I don't know if I'd bother getting back into it, it was fun playing in tourneys back in the day (we did have them in Sydney Trunks, you should have come to the game store in Burwood), but after a dodgey ruling by a corrupt judge got me kicked out of top 8 for one of the nationals my passion for the game slowly but surely died.

Just bought a couple of starter boxes for myself and my son at the recent Pax in Melbourne and think we will probably get into the game more. Need to get a lot more cards of course as neither of us can build a life deck of the same style yet. I'm liking Piccolo so far so would be going for Namekian style.

I've already pre-ordered mine, but even buying boxes in bulk does not save a lot of money compared to buying singles from store like game traders and the like.

Just like the old Dragonball Z game, I don't really have anyone to play against and I definitely don't have the time to go play tournaments anywhere when they do have them but I've been liking namekian too, it was my favourite in old Z as well. Ginyu just seems to strong, but I Think the androids will become the new favourites just from seeing some previews, android 17 looks like he will be a lot of fun.

Yeah I just bought the Heroes and Villains booster box - 24 packs x 12 cards in each. But yeah I get the feeling you need a lot of luck to get the cards you need even when buying in bulk. Obviously trading and buying individual cards to build a deck might be more sensible ;) Oh well haha.

I bought them from tak-games.com.au. They are a dedicated DBZ TCG company down here in Australia. I saw them at PAX Aus on the weekend.

I like the sound of the Androids you mentioned. I am heading to an event in Melbourne on Saturday nearby that will be promoting the new decks. So no doubt I might get some more cards then.

I am going to try and get to some of the local meet ups over the next few weeks. Something I haven't done previously but I'm kinda keen as I'm a huge DBZ fan. I've bought tons of the figures from Japan, got a few in Singapore and a few off BBTS as well.

Yeah Anime Exchange looks pretty good too. Think I might plan out what I want my Piccolo deck to look like and buy the required singles for that. No doubt will try and build up some other decks to see how I like them as well. I really like how the card game taps into the DBZ story.

Not sure they'll keep the sideways cards, and I very much miss the beautiful backing pattern they used in the original Androids through to Cell Games cards, wish panini would bring that kind of style back to the cards.

Hoping that I get mine in the next week or so, nothing better than slowly opening booster packs and filling out your folders bit by bit!

Same system as you, ultra pro card sleeves and normal 3 ring binders. I think I'm up to folder 8 or 9, evolution will be the second folder for the panini version. I think I'd have 12 or more if I had collected GT or the reboot tcg. Not to mention the boxes of doubles I have in storage for no reason what so ever.

Also I know you said you might not have the time but you can play DBz online through OCTGN. Basically lets you play lots of different card games online. You can go to dbztopier.com and it has details on how to set it up and get the image packs for the decks. Click on downloads section.
