Hasbro deluxe Lockdown came today. :)The Takara one came yesterday.

If anyone wants to know, there's not a great deal of difference between the 2. Takara has a mostly black head with green eye balls to Hasbros all grey head and black eyes. Takara has a few black pieces compared to Hasbro grey.:)

All the G2 Combaticons have purple camo splotches! But Onslaught's got to be the greatest eyesore out of the lot. :o Blast Off is just weird... in G1 he was coloured in dark 'army' colours, which makes no sense for a space shuttle. Then in G2 he was given a more realistic black and white colour scheme, but then covered in those stupid purple splotches! It wasn't finally until 2000's Car Robot that the mould was reused for Car Robot's Shuttler (RiD Movor) and was given a more realistic colour scheme (http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/2/27/RID-toy_Movor-Shuttler.jpg) and even re-entry burn marks. ;) Hasbro's version (http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/5/5f/RID-toy_Movor.jpg) kept the same basic colour scheme, but exaggerated the burn marks. But then Hasbro went and released the Universe version (http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/e/e1/TFU03-toy_Movor.jpg) which makes the toy photodegraded and covered in giant snakes. :p

Picked up the G1/DOTM Megatrons pack from a collectable toys store in Boronia today. The box was a little ratty on the sides, otherwise it was unopened and everything is complete. Surprised they were able to get it into the country.

Honestly can't remember if I mentioned this, but my MP-10B arrived from the eBay Sunday toys sale, and it's gorgeous.

Was almost tempted to get another YOTH to get a trailer to customise, but couldn't justify it.

Currently standing in robot mode next to Hasbro MP Prime (MP-10) and YOTH MP Prime. God knows where they'll go once MP-10E (Convoy Mode EVA) and MP-10A (A Bathing Ape exclusive, should I manage to acquire it) arrive.

You having problems balancing him? The feet have an ankle joint that pushes them back, giving him heels and reducing the appearance of clown feet.

The answer is yes! And he looks much better with his feet in the right place (thanks :)). But what intrigues me gap where Roadbuster's right toe ought to be. The edges of the gap are smooth and well formed - like it's supposed to be there, and given that the gap winds up on top of the car roof in alt mode, it looks like it's supposed to be a gap to mount a weapon, but none of the weapon pegs seem to fit there, and none of the stock photos have the gap :confused:

Every image and review I've seen of him doesn't have that gap. I'm guessing a production error that didn't inject enough plastic into the mold to fully form the foot.

I initially thought that too (and it's probably the correct explanation) but the finish on the edges is so smooth and regalated that it really appears deliberate. Maybe I can find an aerial to place there in car mode and on his back in robot mode.

Maybe I can claim it as a variant! :rolleyes:

I'm not sure if i've posted much in these threads since i started to get into transformers again but i thought i would join the fun. i'm catching up with the idw comics so now have just about all up to the dark cybertron and windblade now. i saw this 'dark skyfire' at a shop yesterday and thought i would grab it as i think it looks sweet and never had any jetfire figures. i paid $100 which i dunno if was too much probably but never seen it before and i hadn't gotten anything for a while so why not :p

Sets of sealed Rescue Force toys started pouring out of a Malaysian eBay seller circa 2006 - 2007. They were unpunched and the cards tended to be a bit wavy. The non-combining G1.5 Constructicon sets were also available.

As for the non combining Constructicons - check - I bought a set in Phils a year ago in a toy convention there - my friend pointed it out to me. He got one set from same seller and the seller sold to me for $20/set. (should've gotten 2 grrrr) Apparently they got it from an old Phils toystore (Nova Fontana) that closed out ages ago and have been selling their old stock in pop up stalls here and there... :D These were all still misc as well.

Takara Rusty Prime from RK.

Was only at my folks' briefly last night (where I keep a tonne of my collection at the moment), so unpacked it, popped it on the shelf in robot mode, and bailed.

It'll end up in alt mode in a row with all the others (Hasbro standard, Hasbro platinum, Takara standard).

Though I think I'm actually done with this mould now. Was planning on grabbing the two upcoming Hasbro platinum editions, but I think I'll just leave it be. Might end up with the two Hasbros in robot mode and the two Takaras in robot mode. Anyway, things to figure out later.

It has been years since I have purchased a brand new Transformer and cracked it open.

My MP10b has arrived!

For some reason I had an preconception that the toy would be heavy like the MP01. I guess there is not a bit of diecast in it.

Overall still satisfied with the black masterpiece convoy, but I dont think I can bare to pay $400 for an MP10 for so much plastic.

I had never heard of these Transformers 30th anniversary 3D puzzle figures before until I stumbled across them in a bargain bin at Toys'R'Us here at a local store in Adelaide.

And once I saw that there were G1 figures in addition to TF Prime and movie versions, I sat there and rummaged through the bin for about 20 minutes finding all the G1 characters that I could.

There appears to be very little information on these on the web, which surprised me, but it looks like the only one I'm missing so far is Ultra Magnus. So now the hunt begins!!

Picked up series 1 from BigW Eastgardens two weeks ago.

The individually packed ones do have all the mini catalog in each. out of the box Ive seen in TRU UM is 2pcs and Rodimus was indeed only 1 pc. seems there's a lot more Megs, Ops and Bees in it than any of the other characters.
Now on Gametraders today (Parramatta) they have the individual packed figures and also 3 packs/ 2 packs - in a pack the same character or their corresponding equivalent are packed together in either a 2 pack or 3 pack. not sure how much these are though.

I received my Wave of Generations Nightbeat, Windblade, Jhiaxus and Crosscut this week while I was away. Came home to a box from Robotkingdom.com and was overjoyed!

Pretty neat figures, Windblade seems a bit too delicate but it's a cool group of toys. Can't wait for more preorders to come in the next few months.

From the parramata collectors fair yesterday.

My first Galvatron, sound sort of works some of the sounds are a bit weird.
otherwise complete with reasonable stickers. Joints are all good as well.

My second Roadbuster, this one has fair paint (except the legs) and comes with the head, back pack and a gun, a big improvement. I've got to figure out what guns are missing off this one and acquire them to finally have a complete Roadbuster.

My second cup, tight joints fair stickers and gun, overall a great improvement on my first which was a garage sale find in the late 90's.

my first time ordering online so kind of excited haha. mp 12 and 13 from tfidownunder and the other lot from chimungmung. sideswipe and tigertrack both came with some slight damage to the boxes but otherwise all good. i originally was after the hasbro foc soundwave but tfidownunder had no stock and chimungmung had only the 2 pack, but then emailed after saying they had no stock either so ended up with the TT version, I'm pretty sure i can live with it! geez my tablet takes pretty average photos...now to open up the goodies haha :)

My AOE DLX Lockdown and Construct Bots Dinobot Riders Hound arrived today. I am happy with my lil' Hound but quite disappointed with Lockdown, his joints are loose and he feels ridiculously light, his alt mode is very nice though.

For some protection (but this is no guarentee) take the thighs apart and look at the knee joint in question. Notice that the thighs are actually painted grey (true colour is blue) and the rod the teal ratchet sits over has also been painted grey.. Either sand or rub that grey off the rod (back to blue) as that thickness of paint inside the joint "helps" the teal ratchet grip more than it should. NO GUARENTEE tho ok? :o

I have no experience with the rodimus joint so I've no idea how those joints will attach to the remainder of the leg.

I urge you to be extremely careful. given the known fragility of the legs on that mold, any metallic parts will be orders of magnitude stronger than the plastic. If the joint catches or locks there may be a real risk of tearing the joint out of whatever part of the leg it attaches to. I expect that the ratchet joint has a spring in it to assist ratcheting, this will help reduce the chance of locking but there seems to be some mold flash on those joints which implies they're not the greatest quality. Tolerancing on die cast metal is not as tight as injection molded plastic.

I hope it turns out OK, but I urge you to be extremely careful using these in a mod.

There's a Heatwave Hero Masher? That's such an insane character choice... I kind of want one now. He's got Rescue Bots Heatwave's gun, and is an Autobot - I have a feeling someone in the development process got confused and based it on the wrong toy. That's brilliant.

Today i finally found TT MP-2 Ultra Magnus

he looks so very good on the shelf next to MP-1b
only problem is that after being stored for 8 years wrapped in kimguard his feet like to pop off constantly which makes posing him hard.

that's the exact effect i was going for. i got the mp2 back in 04 i think from target Miranda in Sydney before i knew anything about them. it was also the cheapest masterpiece i have. then in 2012 i saw the mp1b and had to have it as a kind of yin yang bookend type deal. And then i noticed that there was many many more masterpiece transformers and here we are.

Just got my hands on a Generations Roadbuster and the build quality unfortunately feels a bit cheap. His shoulders in particular are held on by a single pin that serves as a rotation joint in transformation and both of them are surrounded in stress marks.

All the other joints within the arms are either ratchet joints or tight swivels so there's a lot of pressure on that pin whenever you move his arms.

Another thing that doesn't come across in the stock photos, those wheels on the back of his thighs poke inwards a good distance, so he has to either keep his legs spread or not have his wheels folded away fully. Otherwise they overlap between his legs.

Otherwise he looks pretty good. Nice sculpting around the torso & shoulders. It's very 'less is more', but it works to make him look like a muscle-bot. Face is good. Weapon selection is great. Just be super careful with those shoulders.
