Yea, I have to agree. Vast improvement was seen across their not predacon releases. UT not galvatron was a home run, and as a follow up this not abonimus is looking mighty fine IMO.

Hmmm not sure I can wait that long, given how good a start Ordin is off too. I like MMC but I admit the long wait on some toys does sap my enthusiasm over time. I like that they want to get everything just right, but it still feels like a long development process. Plus I want to see the DJD first.

Yeah I really like seeing that they're improving and aligning their designs closer to MMC rather than keep going with their own aesthetic (as opposed to how TFC does not seem to be relenting from their own distinct style).

Very keen on owning an Abominus with the same scale as Predaking - been waiting on that since watching "Call of the Primitives" as a kid!

Yes, while I'm not a huge fan of this video reviewer, he does paint a quite favourable picture of this toy. If I here more feedback like this about the final toy, I may not be able to wait to see what the other companies have planned.

lol My earlier comment was just a general idea I had. Watched the review last night and I was really impressed. That alt mode is sublime! MMC has got a much higher bar to jump over to get my money this time ;)

My blot arrived yesterday and man.. what an improvement in UT offerings! Straight up, the box is a heavy good quality box. The figure quality is great. Nothing like their first offering with the predaking. Plastic used is much heavier and all of the joints are tight. Only negative is the "gappiness" of the alt mode (which is a criticism of the look rather than the quality). That being at the top of the back-pack and on the top of his head you can see the connection port for the combined mode. Again, other than that a great figure. Looking forward to picking up the rest :D

Thanks. I must say this set is very tempting. I know a lot of people have said that they will wait for MMCs version, but that is years away and this set is really impressive. The only real concern I still have is the strength of the combiner ports and how posable they will allow the gestalt to be.

Hmm... That chest and crotch plate might need to parts-form. Not sure where it would go unless it's a shield or something... :(

The chest piece used to form a giant shield for Hun-grr so I guess they will probably do the same.

Looking good though, the colours are right, though I hope Sinnertwin is more like the orange prototype.

From what I've read these are a big turn-around for UT so far. :) I don't have any other UT toys but Fenrir and Albrech are good. Not amazing like Troll (Blot) apparently is, but roughly as good as MMC's Feralcons.

Fenrir's (Sinnertwin) head doesn't lock whilst his twin dragon heads are on ball-joint. Albrech's (Rippersnapper) is back-heavy and his transformation isn't as good. I haven't experienced any actual QC issues.

If you want to compare them directly to Masterpieces - the transformations are more like Classics deluxes and not as complex as the Feralcons. They are mostly coloured plastic with enough paint applications to look good. Shoulders are good, elbows are double-jointed, waist swivel, ankle-tilt, only 90 degree knees tho. They are more 'fun' than the typical MP tho as it only takes about 30 seconds to transform them.

Not sure I agree they are more fun, as the one I Not-Sinnertwin have is a bit to too simple. But their quality is decent, I'd say they are a bracket down from the Feralcons, with almost as good plastic, but lacking the heap of clicky ratchets,and extra 10% of MMC.

hahaha not my pic but i do have both of these.
going back to autobot gestalts, i dont have any autobot 3rd party gestalts in my collection and the only official autobot one i have is G1 computron. i was never really into autobot combiners when i was a kid, i always thought the decepticon combiners were way cooler (I still think this way). superion was lanky and skinny looking, and defensor i didnt really have a connection with. devastator has always been my favourite and the stunticons, combaticons, terracons, predacons and seacons were just rad!

A video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lr2G9BFlbp4&feature=youtu.be) to shorten the spring in the leg-sliding mechanism has been posted. This will ensure that the leg isn't broken during transformation.

It doesn't mention the spring(s) in the leg combiner ports that fold out of Siegfried's ankles, but it sounds like there are one or two there that need trimming as well. Only shorten all the spring (as many as six all up) by one loop.

I have him, hes good but you need to take out a screw and some other parts on the torso so that the legs would go in nicely and you wont have to force it all the way in. I heard that the people who are doing the 2nd KO of Feral Rex, have some thoughts on doing a Ko of this guy too. Also MMC is going to be doing this as well. So you got options too. MMC said they want to make their one more of an Abomination and not so hero looking like how UT have done theirs. But be sure to wait for TFcon for some more reveals.

They were interviewed after Feral Rex (http://www.mmc-hub.com/interview-mmcs-griffith76/) if they were doing an Abominus but at the time only hinted that if they were to do one it would be according to Studio Ox's anime style. Have you come across any further updates, icemanff23?
