Make Toys Green Giant & Quantron

Evening everyone,

I have been looking on the TFsource site and came across these two spectacular looking specimens the Custom Devistator and Quantron.

They look very impressive but come with quite a hefty price tag.
Just wondering if anyone has reviewed these items or seem them first hand to see if they are even remotely worth while getting.

Green Giant is fantastic. It is the second best combiner released (First is Feral Rex).

Quantron hasn't been released yet.

Giant is well worth it. IMO it strikes the perfect balance between G1 accuracy and articulation.

Im almost tempted to ditch the G1 official variants for these unofficial ones in my holy grail list.

Absolutely agree. I'm almost tempted to get some cash together,
get Quantron, looks spectacular. Agree 100%.

Also with Green Giant I'm tempted to get the yellow version.
Looks more constructiony if that makes sense.

I caved and recently ordered Feral Rex :D so am waiting for that to arrive. Was thinking to stop there ... but there appears to be some 3 party abonimus' coming soon >_>

You may want to read/watch some comparison reviews. Yellow Giant misses out on two major fixes: 1. shorter arms (no real biggie for me), and 2. removal crane (on yellow, it permanently hangs off its back, whilst on green it can be removed to become a melee weapon).

Cyberius, they are worth getting but yeah pretty expensive. Do make sure that if you do, get it from a reputable source that will help you if the parts that came with your set are faulty. My Quantron came with Sonic drill that has 2 right feet. I am still waiting for BBTS (where I bought it) to reply if they can help me in obtaining the left foot. My email to Maketoys got a reply pinting me to the retailer....:(

Anyways If you do find an affordable Green Giant go for it instead of the yellow coz of the fixes already mentioned before this reply, and also because green looks waaay better colorwise.

Hey Diesel, I wasnt able to get Quantron yet, but I did manage to get Feral Rex from BBTS.
I scoured the internet to see who had him still and BBTS was the cheapest with shipping. I will only buy from BBTS as a last resort as their prices aren't the best sometimes.

Did you try us out at www.tfidownunder.com? We are an official maketoys, Mastermind Creations, X-Transbots, Dr Wu, Unique toys and Fanstoys distributor and sell Quantron. Our prices with shipping are pretty hard to beat most of the time so if your every after anything, give me a yell man we are more than willing to help out :)

lol oh... yes, I shipped some items to a guy in the UK not long ago. The shipping from Australia is fairly disappointing at best :(

Yaaay, the part arrived last week (from BBTS) and I can now enjoy my Quantron without the fear of his left foot dropping when I pick him up. :D

Incidentally the guys at MAketoys emailed me to followup if I was able to get my part from BBTS. I guess they do care in a way . I wasn't sure though what would they do if BBTS wasn't able to give me the right part.... would they have sent me one... well I'll never know but it was kinda nice of them to follow up... makes my opinion of them less hostile than before when they just finger pointed when I sent them an email.....

Hust checked actionrobo, looking at 550 shipped from HK, so yeah, markup but people gotta make a living.

I'm 85% likely to pick up the rumoured yellow reissue set, CW Devestator (or maybe UW) will be my grewn one, but I'd love a 3rd party combiner and ordin is just a little too pricey for me, and I love giant. I had a few g2 constructicons my dad bought me, but i never completed the set (mainly because of lack of combining parts iirc).

The price is like buying it retail and then trying to re-sell them. Going to have to get much better pricing to be competitive.
