mp laserbeak's being sold loose: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TakaraTomy-Transformers-MasterPiece-MP-13-CONDOR-figure-for-Soundwave-/331324073931?pt=BI_Circuit_Breakers_Transformers&hash=item4d247427cb

mp megatrons being sold at 1$ starting bids / buy nows of like $100: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tome-transformer-masterpiece-MP-05-MP05-megatron-new-box-/281444339309?pt=AU_Action_Figures&hash=item418763ce6d

I can't imagine anyone KOing MP Megs. He's just too fragile. And the intricacy of his construction any payoffs would hardly be worth the labor.

Yeah thats what I assumed same with mp09b but it seems strange as I was under the impression both of these were quite pricey to pick up

I'm presuming u pick one up from those listings? Did the transaction go smoothly? There's a whole heap of toyworld orionvil and unique toys galvatron up too starting at low prices.

All the sellers have enough stars to be trusted it seems.

Odd that the seller has so many of the same MPs on at the same time competing against each other. Of well, if it means cheap prices for us... :D

Awfully convenient that 2 sellers (Black Roddy and Megs) that according to their viewable feedback appear to have never sold a TF before are now offloading masses of MPs at low starting prices. Include in that economy shipping which I assume you would be unable to track and this smells funny.

Santa hats anyone?:p

I agree. I'd love to pick up a cheap MP-09b but I'm not game enough to be a test bunny for this. If anyone buys one and it actually gets delivered let me know!

If the prices stay low May risk it and go through PayPal - that way if it turns out bogus have a month or so to cancel the payment

Well my eBay is will come up as t***s so hopefully we don't bid against each other. Feel free to FB message me mate if you go for it as I'd rather one or both of us getting one if the several on offer cheap rather than expensively or not at all.

That said, bet there is a ton of last minute bidding so each other are prob the last folk we have to worry about

my laserbeak and mp05 all turned up just fine well laserbeak's decepticon symbols are a little off but i have a feeling that its a factory reject rather than a ko.
mp megatron though was pretty much flawless (actually better than my first one that i bought second hand ) i'll be bidding on an mp09b from the same seller and will let you know how that works out :) no santa hats for me

megatron also just doesn't strike me as somethign worth knocking off he's far to complicated / fragile to make it worth while . the same to be said for mp09 /09b they're both known to be really fragile so you'd have to alter the molds to fix the problems or people just wouldn't buy them so it wouldn't be worth the money you'd have to spend in development
i personally feel there's a high chance that those unboxed mp09's are fixed authentic releases surely places like bbts would have had a lot of stock returned etc. and someone sore an opportunity to fill a gap in the market

The issue with these isn't whether they are KOs, it's whether you'll get them at all.

Did anyone here buy anything so far? All the BIN Megs are gone (there were 10) and a couple of auctions are over. Good prices if they're real ;)

There does appear to be some good prices there... For me though, it's a case of seeming too good to be true, but I hope it does work out for those who have purchased something -clicking on a link for one Masterpiece Black Rodimus that sold for $73 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HOT-Transformers-Takara-Tomy-Masterpiece-MP-09B-Black-Rodimus-MISB-NEW/161427919396?_trksid=p2046732.c100040.m2060&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1% 26asc%3D20140107095009%26meid%3D2ccfb7f27ac94a6c81 e3b334e3a8829d%26pid%3D100040%26prg%3D201401070950 09%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D161428856725), the seller appears to have relisted it or another one.

Noticing that they all charge shipping now. So far we have 1 confirmed case of goods being received but there are quite a number of sellers out there with plenty of TFs for bargain prices so not sure if there are any "Santa hats" waiting. Question is though, would Paypal refund shipping if an item has shipped but is not as described?

Hmmm, something may be a bit dodge as the 2nd Mp9b went for $81, but when I clicked on it it said 'View relisted item' so if he's relisting the same item then either he is not honouring the deal or trying to get peoples details or is bidding on his own items with a dummy account to send up the price. It also seems to be the exact same 4 users doing all the bidding on each item. Starting to seem quite suss

Just for hilarious archival purposes, this is a basic summary after half a dozen people here were lured in by a bizarre Chinese eBay scam…

So it looks like he just got the first lot of feedback from selling TFs and what a shock it is negative. The comment says 'fraudulent seller, ordered a transformer toy and got a Santa hat instead'

now he received another negative feedback, another santa hat was sent, no wonder he kept saying merry christmas in every messages

tried to open case but stupid ebay said i have to wait until feb 6, i can open item not as described case but afraid that i have to go into hassle of sending the santa hat back first before ebay refund my money

Looks like i am gonna have 6 santa hats turn up... negative feed back for the one i got today.. i dont think i will wait for the others to show... not happy but i hope to get the $$ back:(:(

let me know how it turns up UltraMac, i don't have any idea about how ebay will side to us. I am gonna have 8 santa hats in february if not sooner.

relax, he's laughing at himself for 1 santa hat.

updates: I message him about his scam, surprisingly he acted like he was shocked about the item he was sent and his english is getting better than previous messages.

Dear neeno,

hi friend
what happend ?
please send the photos about the package to me
i will check
thanks

Dear ********,

Hello!
Really sorry! Christmas hat as a gift for you. Our shipping department may have forgotten to send the Transformers with you. I now give you a refund via paypal. Please check! And, we will re-send the Transformers to you. In the five days. After you receive the Transformers. You then pay to me. Is that OK? I really knew was wrong. So I want to implore you could help me modify the negative feedback? Waiting for your reply! Merry Christmas!

- ni_jay1988

I'll admit the refund has come back to my account but I'll bet it is because I contacted Paypal and e-mailed them photos of the "Christmas hat". No f***ing way am I sending him any more money...

sent the same to me got refunded on 2 of the items... he says he is resending them heaps of negative feedback on his account now.. yep he seems shocked.. and i flat out told him i was very angry.... if he sends the item yep sure i will pay for them.. but who does this to people....could just be a pro scammer.. who knows its not over yet... i wonder if i should bid on some more items lol

Oh, i did bid and win just to leave another negative feedback for him.
I still haven't got my refund,tho
Yeah, i doubt that he would send the real thing, but if he keeps sending me the santa hats, i might have enough fund next christmas

Just receive the same message, funny eh?

I typed the phrase "chinese ebay scam" in to Google and found some interesting results. Here is just one of many:

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1725234

Note the recurring theme - buyers are sent something cheap & nasty instead of what they actually paid for. That way the buyer cannot claim "Item not received" and would need to ship the item back. The scammer is hoping that most people would not be bothered paying to ship back a Christmas hat or hair clip etc.

It is very similar to what has happened here with ni_jay88.

This is a scam pure and simple.

Remember what I said about things being too good to be true? Stop trying to tell yourself that this isn't a scam. We got scammed. Accept it.

well as expected the auctions on ebay a few weeks back selling tfc combiners etc for peanuts was a scam.. i now have 8 santa hats and no transformers i am around $400 plus out of pocket and have spoken to paypal and lodged claimshttp://i43.tinypic.com/33ati6r.jpg

Hi all I've been visiting this site for a while but thought it was time I register.

Well I wish I had seen this thread before I bid and won one of those MP-09B's from this scam artist. I thought I was being careful after having convinced myself there no known KO'S on this model. I did think his selling history was strange. I think I was one of the early winning bidders before they keep getting relisted. Obviously I should have waited but animal instincts got the best of me...

So I called PayPal about it today and they said they need to give it 7 days from the transaction to open up a claim. Interestingly it's not yet been marked as sent and I made my payment on Saturday. Ebay should shut this guy down pretty quick.

Very strange... Anyways I got them both for a cheap enough price I'll stick it out and see how they go... I'll keep everyone updated.

Yeah that was me guys. I knew it was too good to be true but $70 for an MP-09b was worth the risk. Made payment last Saturday and no tracking number provided. Contact has been minimal and I gave them warnings. Escalated to eBay and Paypal.

Hope I'm wrong and have jumped the gun but doubt it so I wanted to warn others.

Sorry to hear that mate. It wasn't clear to me whether there would be a tracking number, is that standard on international parcels? Is it actually marked as sent yet?

Since I got mine refunded I've been debating whether to fork out the $260 AUD shipped for the Black Rodimus from e-hobbybaseshop. Man that's a lot of coin, particularly given the issues with the knees. If I paid a bit more I could pre order the EVA Prime. Decisions, decisions...

Kapryiath
27th September 2014, 08:25 PM
the issues with the knees is any easy fix ! you just have to crack them open before you try to transform him and either dremel the hole , or sand the peg down .
what happened was that the thigh section went from being molded plastic to painted plastic which included the peg, unfortunately the peg/hole wasn't designed to have enough tolerance to support the extra thickness created by the paint

yeah i'll be messaging the mp09b seller and requesting him to cancel my auction

Well I was finally given a tracking number for my MP-09b. I still don't hold out any real hope of this being legit. If they gave out a Santa Hat last time I wonder what it will be this time? Perhaps a Halloween Mask? :D

The suspense is killing me. I cannot believe these would be getting sold at about a quarter of the going rate. Good luck man, I hope it's legit.

I have noticed that the guy sellng the MP Megatrons now has 2 positive feedback marks specifically relating to MP Megatrons. Awfully quick after winning though considering he is posting economy mail.

They also regarded the toy as a project which put me off that this is fake.

DaptoDog

Yes they pulled the "Friend" thing with me too.

Sorry I know this is a little off topic but has anyone bought on ebay from toy_story_world? I got MP-15 and it was well packaged and so the box arrived mint. But I also ordered the MP-11 and MP-10B combo and it had no bubblewrap. Sure enough the MP-11 box has some dents. I'm not happy with it and also not happy with their communication, blaming the postal service and not their subpar packaging. They reckon I can claim on the insurance but I doubt they will honour the claim. Oh well ai won't be buying from them again.

I ordered mp-11 off them on the sunday during 15% off, got shipping notification on the monday and it arrived on the friday. No there was no bubble wrap, just a cardboard box that it fit perfectly into, thankfully no damage.

I bought one of each datsun when smokescreen first came out, but they were bubblewrapped. All my other mp cars (i mean seconds of datsuns, and a red alert and sideswipe) from talltallcat since, and well packaged.

that's a bit hush, I have bought from them numerous times. and though not bubble wrapped it was well packed. If you are that sick about your MISB go and insure them and specify your requirements.

I am going recommend this seller as from Ebay deals I got mp-11 at $149 and it came to me fast on both occasions.

Sorry but throwing it in a box with no protection and hoping for the best is not good enough.

You were paying minimum postage, I am sorry as well but seeing the seller tried to rectify the problem and you give a negative just puts me off by your misb knowing full well there can always be a risk in shipment.

Sad for him to encounter a customer needing misb requirements. But I don't think he needs to worry scoring a 90% feedback.

For anyone else, he is the cheapest to get a mp-11,and mp-10b I definitely still recommend dealing with him, if you needed extra protection ask, it is stated in his auction that he uses stuff to minimum postage that may damage to box. Though he also said all larger items will fit in larger boxes.

But yeah is true, avoid him for those who require misb, you are better off paying $50 to $100 more for your satisfaction of a neat box.

i have just found out that it appears that the guy selling the MP Megs is legitimate. Box was a bit banged up but supposedly otherwise fine.

So there you go, not a scam. Too bad I have no interest in MP-05 because they have been going for some bargain prices. If only I could get a deal like that on MP-10B :(

It's $179 for the safest bet at the moment for mp-10b or mandrake for a loose used one when it comes along.

Great price for a megaton mp but not really keen just for me to show one in gun mode.

not really, as the announced mp05 is supposed to have a new shiny deco, the mp05 i recieved was just a standard mp05 so i doubt they're production rejects/lunchtime specials

i'm still not convinced that the mp09b was a ko seems unlikely that we have 2 people who never recieved them and then 1 that recieved a ko and i can't find anyone else on other forums that are aware of the mold being ko'd usually by the time its hitting ebay theres announcements floating around the internet

It's so the tracking says it's delivered, so you can't honestly say it never arrived, just that the item was not as described. Then you might have to send it back at your own cost to be refunded, blah blah blah. It's preying on that, the 45-day dispute window, and the fact that lots of people can't be arsed to deal with the effort of disputing it all.

I stumbled across this thread whilst searching for more information about masterpiece transformer auctions appearing on ebay.

I too had put in a bid for a MP10b from ebay user jan7710 as well as a MP09b from user xqun8811.

It appears jan7710 are now no longer be a registered user and has received 14 negative feedback scores.
