thanks man.... playing with the VF0d gave me more appreciation for the mold as it has grown on me alot so decide to touch up the plain looking VF0a , and adding them little detail bring out the fighter alot .... had to look up the masterfile of the VF0 (http://g.e-hentai.org/g/543169/e38788c6f7/) to put all the no step around 50 !! and other details ....
also my OCD side found out that the danger intake red V is slightly off on the left side on the VF0D :(

'Evolution Toys' is the name of toy company doing this VF-2SS. Details are a bit sketchy, but apparently Mr.K from Arcadia has stated that the scale is 1/60 scale.

i remember watching macross2 when if first came out ... and though the new fighter was so cool...but now it just look odd too me... looks like they just stuck bits and piece together onto a body....
the battroid mode looks good but .... agree with you lord zed...need fast pack..

It's pretty spot on for the line art though.

I had a kit of this when i was a kid, it had a screw withit and i lost the screw before i built it. Tried to compensate with glue but it dodnt work out well. It had the fast packs and the long gun, awesome in battroid, from memory it looked a but better than these pics in fighteer, but i wanted a toy back then, not a fragile model so i didnt really play with it. This has piqued my interest, especially if fast packs were in the future.

I'd like an Icarus too, nice colour, and VF-1J head is my fav so I like this too. However the gerwalk is a bit off for me, the shoulders really; then again I display everything but my VF-1D in fighter or battroid so doesn't matter too much.

The VF-2SS was always a little odd, but so are all the Macross 2 Valkyries. I had that model kit to, you had to swap out the leg joints in all 3 modes and the fighter wings did not swing out so you could only ever display it in it's armoured form. Still I do like how the design strongly delineates between the space combat armoured mode and the standard jet mode.

I would also like to see the Icarus, though I never much liked the Metal Siren, it looks to Gundam like.

It would be awesome to see the Marduk Zentran power armours, or Spacy Destroids as they had some awesome designs in Macross 2, but we know that will never happen, as we can't even get a standard DYRL male power armour. :(

it was pretty easy actually ... there some places when you had to glue ... and some that were very tightly fitted but all snap together .... there were a few things i put on backwards but lucky i had a vf1 on hand to compare too ....just to see how the completed one look like... they very tight fit so alot of rubbing for transformation.... had to do alot of filling /sanding down on the painted parts...like the blast shield and the shoulder piece are the main problem areas

After putting one together i appreciate how yamato people assemble the v2 of their figure.... they have no gaps between the two part pieces .... there some places where i can't close the gap no matter how much force i used! the only ways would of been glue and putty....

15 finalists have been announced for the Macross Delta auditions. Second set of Auditions in a few days.

Kinda been waiting since about 1986 for one of these. Very happy with it. Only makes me want more...
Pretty keen on the Bandai VF-19, but might be hard to get hold of seeing pre-orders sold out in about 10seconds.
(This is as far as I've got with the transformation so far. Was still lovin' fighter mode, but decided to muck with it a bit).

Once you have the vf25 figure and watching frontier you get to appreciate how accurate the figure is to the anime and you take much more notice....

Thanks man! Its incredible how close the renewal 25 is to the line art/anime. Like I said: work of art. Probably the highest degree of on-screen accuracy I've ever come across for any toy/figure I've ever owed. And the VF1A is not too far off either.

Yeah I saw the pics on tfi and almost pre-ordered on the spot. But instead i watched collectiondx's review of the regular vf-1j and changed my mind completely.

Now do i try and find money in my toy budget to get the 1/60 GBP ... or try and hunt down one that fits the first release 1/60...

(If i havent mentioned before, i had (have?) every first release yamato 1/60 from original series/movie except the ostrich, with the spare parts (including full gbp armor) stored in a money box. Someone stole my money box... so all my figures are stuck in the mode they were in on my shelf at the time :-(

(If i havent mentioned before, i had (have?) every first release yamato 1/60 from original series/movie except the ostrich, with the spare parts (including full gbp armor) stored in a money box. Someone stole my money box... so all my figures are stuck in the mode they were in on my shelf at the time :-(

It does have a green visor. Only thing that's purple is the canopy. And while green would have been better, purple is still pretty good.

Of course, it all pales in comparison to my YF-19 ;)

It was a tin I got in high school that came full of chupa-chups, with a coin slot in the top. Sadly almost everything was in fighter, except for fokker strike 1s, cannon fodder, and vf-1d (that had super armor on for fun) and hikaru 1j. So yeah I dont mind with most of them, but the main thing is that i have no white heat shield that doesnt have a hole in it for gbp, as the CF is brown, strike is black etc. also having the 1d stuck in battroid cos no 2 seat canopy :-(

Edit: the story was I pooped foen to the corner shop, someone broke in through my kitchen window, when i came back soon i had no idea and they went out the balcony, i didnt even notice anything missing for a couple of weeks (though ofc i did notice and report due to the broken window and open balcony). I guess they panicked and just grabbed the big heavy tin hoping it was coins and took off...

really like all the tempo marking ..... the fighter mode just loses to the arcadia but very slightly... but this one a one seater as the yf19 is a two with set them apart so im happy with both ....
gerwalk mode is just bad....the legs don't really hold out well... and the body angle is just a bit too much inclined ....
the battroid mode is very nice but the leg is really hollow at the back thigh..
it a nice solid figure...and it come with stand and super parts so i totally recommend this !! a must have!!

i was always looking at this figure..... how good is it?..and what the size...

Klan's Queadluun Rare is probably my favourite non-Valk mech in the whole Macross franchise.
Couldn't justify the 1/60th version for a non-transforming figure (regardless of cool it looks) and this caught my eye while I was looking at the Robot Spirits VF25.
Sometimes toys grow on me, but this I liked straight out the box. Its small size is probably the only bad point, but given that it only cost me $22, I can over look that.
Arm articulation is very good, though the legs are somewhat limited. It stands and poses fairly well, but is a bit back heavy.
The impact beam cannon is cool, as are the opening missile pod doors - although some colour on the missiles themselves would be awesome. (Hmmm, something I might do in the future). The icing on the cake is the opening pilot doors and the KK (non-removeable) "figure" inside.
The whole thing displays very nicely, but I'd imagine that scale-wise it might be hard to include in most collections.
There's a good review on the eyeforthings wordpress blog and I've included a picture for scale purposes. (Top of the back missile pods is roughly 13cm).
I'd have to highly recommend this based on ease of availability and such a low price.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the hips ball joints on mine were very loose making it very difficult to pose, but it was very quick and easy to disassemble and paint them with a layer of superglue. Good as gold now!

Just finished 1/72 kit of vf1a .... it a transformation kit...but this thing just so flimsy ... the hinge for the moving panels so small it keep falling off ..... it was a head ache to do.... i don't think i ever do one again....

About $15 each, but i got them half off at the recent HLJ sale. Shipping is another $10 though as they are quite substantial in size and not light.

These are made by Hobby Master for their diecast fighter jets. The real decks are not so vibrant because they are weathered but these are based on modern carriers.

I don't know how you guys afford them all at the prices they retail for. I have been a fan of the series since I was a kid and everytime I look at getting my first Valkyrie the prices always put me off.

I think the only way I will ever squeeze something like it into the family budget is to get one of the model kits and make my own.

Glad to meet another macross fan. In all honesty I am able to afford the birds because I am very selective and I don't collect TFs that much. I only have 2 Masterpieces and have less than 30 TFs in total! I used to buy 3-4 valks per year back when the AUD was strong but now limit myself to just one per year.

The other problem is display space but that problem is common amongst this community. The model kits are a bit hit and miss, plus a lot of effort are required. They really shouldn't be played with once you're done with them as the joints do deteriorate quickly.

I was a bit that way too, but due to not much happening on the TF front (CW = meh) I diverted funds and got my first Valk (Yamato 30th Anniversary VF-1A). Probably one of the best things I've done toy/collecting-wise. These things are great and I love them! Well worth the money. Whole 'nother level over any TFs.
If you take the plunge, you won't regret it.

Of course, then I made the financial mistake of watching Macross Frontier....

I cut back a lot as well from the transformers ...I only collect the masterpiece now...but that kind of die as well...not really excited about ironhide ...he was a horrible g1 toy so I never really like him...lol ...give me jazz and hound damit!!

Macross release is spread out through the year which is good...
I just did a macros transforming kit... and it wasn't fun at all...flimsy as ....
And like Klystron said...it totally worth it ...:D

Bandai is, ps look at the shape and design is not much different from where Frontier left off.

Dont get me wrong I love the music in all the macross series with the exception of mac7 but I just think its been overdone. Maybe go down the road of macross plus where sharon apple sung the catchy tunes yet turned out to be the villain.

Damn!!!! Really?!?!? I love the look of vf-4 in fighter mode, its the battroid that I am not crazy about.

If the price is right for the new Arcadia release I may bite but as of late u almost need to take out a 2nd mortgage to buy any of their valks. MP collecting so much easier on the wallet and I have to admit just as satisfying which is hard to say as die-hard macross fan

Still not in Flashback colours... Price is bound to be even higher than it was before (still about half of what it goes for now though!). I have no regrets buying one; you can tell every piece of it was made with care and attention to detail, and seeing the underside condense to barely no thickness is like magic!

Not overly hard and condition means everything.

I am assuming you have a possible Bandai Vf-1j Max Super valkrie.

The real 80s version have non super for Max, so if you had a "like jetfire" which means you have the super parts with it, that would be a year 2000ish toy.

Heh, this was my first ever macross figure. Pretty solid & fun toy, my only real issue with fighter mode was that the shoulders were still exposed.
