But will this be the same book at Transformers The IDW Collection Phase Book 4 or Book 5? (like All Hail Megatron HC vs Collection Vol 5). I'm going to hold off.

Out this week is the single issue Punishment (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/comics-16/transformers-punishment-preview-181886/) story, and Transformers #37 (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/comics-16/transformers-37-full-preview-181887/) (was RID).

Check the links for mirrored previews of both.

Punishment was the one released on an App for free, so this is the first time in print... and being a one-off issue, I wonder where they will include it in their TPBs (perhaps with the upcoming Windblade TPB).

Next week's comics (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/comics-16/diamond-comics-shipping-list-for-january-28th-181889/) are the third issue of the Angry Birds comic and the third issue of the Drift comic.

(I've also pinned this topic, like the Japanese Monthly topic, to see how it goes for a few months.)

Weird, I got the third issue of the Drift comic in London last week, maybe it is only out here next week?

IDW had weird shipping delays happen that affected some international spots I think. Wasn't clear when Drift was hitting.

A preview of Angry Birds #3 (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/comics-16/angry-birds-transformers-issue-3-preview-181940/)... for anyone buying this comic, or to encourage people to buy it.
Apparently out this week.

Looks like the combined Allspark Almanac has been delayed until February 18th, plus it has been confirmed to include (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/animated-8/transformers-animated-the-complete-allspark-almanac-cover-new-details-181942/) some extras that were done up for FunPub in recent years, as well as about 10 pages of new content... making it an annoying temptation to buy if you already have the two separate volumes.

472 page (book) that combines The AllSpark Almanac, The AllSpark Almanac II, The AllSpark Almanac Addenda we put together for the Transformers Collectors' Club, and ten-ish pages of new content teasing more of what Season 3.5 might look like. We worked closely with Derrick Wyatt to ensure that the book was as close to 100% canon as possible, with all new material carefully vetted (and a bit of old material tweaked or recontextualized.)

For those who didn't get Drift #3 (as it was released early in some countries), it should be out this week, and a preview can be seen here (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/comics-16/drift-empire-of-stone-issue-3-preview-181947/).

Probably not a surprise to see more JP Gen1 characters in this Drift miniseries, after they were featured in the last miniseries.

Did MTMTE #37 not get released yet?

According to this release schedule (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/comics-16/diamond-comics-shipping-list-for-february-4th-181953/), it is to come out next week, which puts it in February.
After the TFs/GIJoe comic was getting later and later with the delays each issue resulting in a rescheduling of upcoming issues, I hope they aren't falling into the same cycle as Dreamwave, which had this knock-on effect of never catching up, forcing later issues to get later and later... to the point of not getting released at all.

It hasn't. It's just a January/news years distribution thing. They'll get back on track soon

Yeah delayed ain't fun - BUT I saw on bleedingcool's next week two weeks article that MTMTE 38 MAY come out the week after. So it could be two weeks of awesome.

Before I unstick this topic and stick up the February one, it should also be noted that the GIJoe/TF #6 was NOT released during January either.

In fact, the GIJoe/TF comic is soooo behind schedule, that #5 is not expected out until the first week of February (next week).

The delays aren't particularly unusual for the comic book industry. It happens because the traditional monthly schedule is faster than most modern artists can draw, because of the level of detail now required, the necessity or allure of other work, and to some extent in a minority of cases poor work ethic on the artists' part. Delays in writing aren't unheard of either; neither writing nor drawing a comic is an exact science, and if something happens forcing one or the other to go back to the drawing board (such as a substantial rewrite due to a better idea) then the comic gets delayed. It doesn't mean IDW are about to go the way of Dreamwave.
