Really? I'm preferring this one over Devilstar except for the shuttle mode, which doesn't really worry me that much.

Devilstar is about 22.5cm up for preorder on chimungmung. So tw Devilstar is only about 1.5 cm shorter. Hrmmmmmm.

hmm I think I prefer this one more than the devilstar one. It's big enough though for CHUG line :) as he should be, but then it's kinda too big this time.

At least this one is the right colour :p Train mode looks pretty nice. Not sure if it'll suit MP though. It's more in line with CHUG.

Yet another case of two Third parties announcing a toy based on the same character at the same time, they must be psychic.

Both not Astrotrains have merits, and the Takara version of the original Henkei toy was rather fine at the time, though I would like a bigger one with the classic locomotive mode. Going to wait this one out till we see some more finished prototypes.

I believe that devilstar is an unfinished prototype, and the colour is not final but both have good promise since the inclusion of blitzwing my classics astro is looking a little small

It's more in line with CHUG.

Yep, bot mode is not G1 toon accurate enough to me. To me, it's a leader class chug figure. Wings are too sharp, not round enough for starters. Alt modes are nice - I just don't think it will fit into my MP shelf. I will always look at it and think it just doesn't belong there.

As a bit of a Steam Loco fan, I'm really quite curious to see how both figures turn out but I think I'll go with the one who has the better combination of Loco & Bot modes - The shuttle mode isn't really important to me. ;):)

It looks good and yet I am also a little hesitant . I'm not sure If I believe TakTom will release one, but there's also the chance MMC will too.

I think the vehicle mode needs a few more details, like mirrors and something though.

One thing Id like to have them add or do something though with the locomotive mode is the steam stack... there's none.... not even a small prolly 1 cm tube jutting out would give you that ïllusion" of the smokestack effect....
:(. oh well, but that's just me nitpicking, Im still gonna get this heheheCoz Astrotrain needs to be massive IMO

Release date still says January, but I think around March is more likely.

Couldn't they come up with a better third party name for the figure than "Big Train"? Or perhaps it's just a placeholder name. :)

I don't know why, but the Astrotrain looks just plain awful. Something about the head, or the proportions? Needless to say, I'm not buying (if it was good I wouldn't at that price).

wow its a lot better than what i was expecting!

its not perfect but comes pretty close to being a masterpiece - the rubber tires and the sexy chrome helps a lot.

yea and the more i look at it the more it doesnt look cartoon (which is what it suppose to look like obviously) thus i just purchased the toyworld evila star =] although its a bit shorter than masterpiece i think it fits as the G1 toy was tiny.

I'm a little torn on this or evilstar. I'm really wanting an astrotrain however both look actually really good and well made.

I guess it comes down to scale in bot mode fur me; an astrotrain slightly taller than MP 10 or slightly shorter...... :p
