Hasbro have released on their youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AW_k_JQ5nQU), another designer video from Joshua Lamb and John Warden, about the upcoming Combiners of Superion and Menasor.... both of which look to be post-production versions now. (so could be in production now or soon)
Video is only 90 seconds, so you don't see much other than the concept of a Voyager and four Deluxes, and that they are interchangeable for "customisation".
Silverbolt is the only one shown as an individual toy to highlight the core toy concept, as we don't get to see the other individual toys in either of their modes. This short video was only to highlight the combiner and interchangeable elements.
Still, it was interesting to watch... especially since it has been such a slow news week lately...

Really haven't been collecting much so when I see a video like this and start to feel excited about having these toys it's always a good thing:D

Superion looks brilliant!
Is it just me or does Menasors torso look out of proportion? He seems to be all legs

i only had a really brief look, but i did notice some mistransformations on Menasor, that may be it

compared to some of the other designer videos this one was a bit weak I think.
I like the look of silverbolts alt mode, menasaur looks like his hips are spread a little wide, probably necessary to get the legs far apart enough. Looks like some sort of sliding/clicking mechanism on the limb connectors, something we haven't seen before.

Lookin sick! They really need to fire the people who do their stock photography because those cutaway shots really hurt these toy's image compared to the in-hand video.

Can't wait. I like that they're going for sturdiness and posability, something which Bruticus sorely lacks. They look pretty big and sound heavy.
It's tempting to put them all in robot mode as well, they look so good as a team.

Looking much better than that hot glue mess we've seen previously.
I'm still not liking the tiny feet.

In a previous video there was some conjecture about a Devastator seen obscured in the background. It's back but clearly a G1 toy next to a G1 Defensor.
Now for something else to speculate on... about the 17 second mark of the video you can see the designer's desktop has some artwork on it. It's also on the wall behind them in the two shot but the close up gives you a better view.
Possible spoiler alert if it's something from the upcoming comics
It's not art I recognise, not that Livio poster/cover that's been used elsewhere, and as well as having this new Menasor toy on it, and also has Technobots! It also looks like Shockwave is in front of Menasor shooting at Superion. Does anyone recognise this from somewhere else? It could possible be a spread from upcoming IDW comics?

On the wall blown up. Doesn't help much.

Superion is definitely the best of the two. Like others have said, Menasor looks all leggy. Can't wait until they come out.

Tfw2005 front page have an article on rumoured Devastator combiner. Please be reeeeeal. Apparently all six parts are sold as a boxset and all parts are Voyager class making a Titan class figure ( same class as generations metroplex). Again... pleeeeeease be reeeeeal. :(

I would love a Devastator combiner, but what I would also like would be a new Prowl that can become Devastator's head

I wish they'd have addressed why one member of the aerialbots is now a helicopter. I guess its a design choice.... but why?
IDW cleverly glossed over it too, saying that his spark was exposed.

I think it's so they can reuse the mold for a possible Blades or even Vortex (redoing Bruticus would be nice)

I think the mold resembles Vortex more than Blades, but I'm not too fussed about the character substitution.

A retailer probably decided that all jets or all sports cars would be too boring so they needed some diversity. Being able to reuse moulds for Bruticus and maybe Computron wouldn't be a negative in Hasbro's eyes...
Sorry paulbot, I've not seen the art before, perhaps Shockwave will be returning soon? Surely he had a copy of his memory on a floppy disk somewhere in his lab.

It would be pretty grand. Very imposing if he's made of six voyager. He'd be pretty expensive here though, if we paid voyager RPP altogether.

Tactically it doesn't make sense. Say the Aerialbots fly out of America to somewhere in Europe. 4 of the 5 make it their via jetpower, but Superion can't be formed as the helicopter won't be showing up for hours. Stooopid.

Well I hope its not going to be exactly like that, titan class is way to big. I would prefer it to be a similar scale to the other combiner teams. I would assume if they sell Devastator as a boxset it's because all the figures might not be in the traditional scale classes. The four limbs could be large deluxes. Two voyagers could make up the torso and shoulders. When compared to other combiners, Devastator could be 3-4 inches taller because of longer limbs, and be bulkier due to a larger torso and shoulders.

Yep. No Prowl, no purchase.

I guess this opens the door for two new 3rd party figures and upgrade kits. See Hasbro just wants to help 3rd partys cash in :p Why? cause they care about the little guys LOL

I'd totally buy into such a cash-in. Nobody turns my favourite aerialbot into a chopper and expects me to be ok with it!

There's already a teaser out, though I actually kind of like the helicopter.
If a group puts out a leader/torso-bot upgrade like the (hopefully-still) upcoming FoC Bruticus replacement Onslaught though, that I could go for. Especially for Menasor - Motormaster had a pretty cool design that the Optimus remold doesn't capture IMO.

Just like in the old days. A Harrier (Slingshot) has a max. speed of mach 1 (approx), whereas the other 4 have a max. speed of mach 2 (approx).

Or he could just climb in one of the other aerialbots & fly along with them

I'd imagine that while the alien robotic lifeforms might disguise themselves as Earth-jets of various types, they probably don't adopt features such as their maximum speed and the like, since that would be ridiculous. Even if disguised exceptionally well as a plane, a Cybetronian's internal biology and fuel conversion features would surely still be defined by the inherent characteristics of their species rather than the relative abilities of their disguise.
Or whatever. At least it explains the skateboarding monkeys.
