Hi fellow Trans-fans,
My name's Wade and I'm an Aussie Transformer since the early 80's.
I have a fairly decent collection of original G1 figures. I have lived in Tokyo, Japan for the last 15 years, the hallowed birthplace of the original toys.
I've been particularly fascinated with the MasterPiece figures these last so many years as they are the way I always wanted my old G1 toys to look. Japan puts out some very spectacular versions over here which I've noticed can be hard to get outside Japan and at reasonable prices. There's a lot of treasures to be picked up cheap over here with some Japanese language skills and a lot of web surfing and haggling with sellers and suppliers. .
I'm decided to finally do what I've wanted to all my life, and start a small home side business called Transformers Treasure Chest, where I source hard to find Japan exclusives and/or find lower prices on regular figures lower than the big toy stores. I've dug up a heap of small and large suppliers here in Japan and I want to help Trans-fans get the bots and cons they are looking for.
I will be using YouTube and a blog or site eventually to let people know what figures I have found, but for now I am will work by word of mouth in the community as I work on the nuts and bolts of my system in my spare time, and gauge interest in such a service, when I'm not at work or looking after my little daughter.
There are two common ways I will be sourcing TF figures over here for people.
First way : I will will dig up good deals on set price figures from big and small suppliers over here. These I will probably post image links to here or make a YouTube video on or put on a blog until I've made a proper site. With a young daughter and a son due in Jan, it will take me a while to set things up properly.
These set price items will be ordered when the Oz side buyer pays me through PayPal. If stock runs out before I get my Japan side order processed then I immediately refund you.
Second way : I find good deals on Japanese toy fan auction sites and announce here. Or a member here asks me to try to dig up a particular figure and I do find the item in question. . As auctions don't give set prices except for occasional Buy Now type deals, then if the member agrees to transfer their max amount by PayPal, I start bidding on in your behalf to win the item within that price. If the bidding on the auction site I'm bidding through goes past that max amount, then I just refund the payment immediately. This 'second way' is probably for really keen collectors who really want to nab the figure they are after.
Any thoughts on the above two methods ? And feedback ? I'm trying to think of fair ways for this to work out for you guys and me and the same time. I am planning on doing things like this as I can't just buy up heaps of figures and hope someone buys them at some stage. (And that's of like scalping too.) At least, I can't do that at the beginning.
Feel free to give me a shout out and talk Trans-stuff,
Cheers,
Wade

Crankcase, just to narrow down the search parameters do you want :
-Original G1
-Encore G1
and
-Only New
-Second hand
This will make it a lot easier.
Cheers,

Hey guys,
When you make a inquiry or request for figures could you add a link to an site like a fan wiki etc) that gives info about the franchise/figures and also add some more information like if you're looking for new and/or second hand figures, Japanese editions or English language country editions etc.
This helps out heaps so I don't have to start from scratch trying to figure out what an unfamiliar figure or franchise is and what it is exactly that you're looking for which reduces a lot of initial back and forward posting just to understand what it is that you are looking for. Basically the more info you can provide, the more likely I'll be able to dig up a cool deal for you.
I am more or less a Transformers fan and so unfamiliar with most other franchises and don't know everything about the various likes of Transformers either.
Much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Wade,
If you ever come across a Henkei Dinobot (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/File:Henkei_Dinobot.jpg) during your travels, I'd really appreciate it if you could snag it for me (unless they're asking an absolute fortune for it).
Thanks Mate! :)

Hey guys,
I need a little bit more help with your figure hunt requests.
As I mentioned in a post :

Basically the more info you can provide, the more likely I'll be able to dig up a cool deal for you.
I am more or less a Transformers fan and so unfamiliar with most other franchises and don't know everything about the various likes of Transformers either.
AND ADDING to this : Please add your maximum price you are willing to pay for the figure (new/second hand, Hasbro/TakaraTomy, original/encore etc).
The thing is that I won't be able to spend hours, days or weeks looking for figures without exact conditions to look with.
Much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

A reminder to members about what the userguide rules (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=2) states - all transactions are at your own risk. (no matter how new a person is here who tries to sell items, as you need to judge them on their history here, or look over their online store if they have one)
New members that don't have an online store as some proof of their past transactions, are recommended to interact here as a fan for a while first to earn trust, otherwise it will impact on your sales.

Just a quick video to show you Transformer fans this extra special item that came to my attention recently.
'Sega Genisis' Megatron !
'Sega Genisis' Megatron is an equisitely detailed limited edition Megatron figure that transforms into a Sega Genisis game console, which is the the North American version of the Japanese Megadrive.
(In the same series, Megatron also comes in a non-limited edition Megadrive version, while Optimus Prime comes in an original PlayStation version, which are also available here through Transformer Treasure Chest, at $120 US including free shipping and handling anywhere world-wide, the lowest shipping inclusive price you'll find on the web.)
TakaraTomy are only making a mere 1000 of these babies, so they are highly collectible figures and will be very rare items.
'Sega Genesis' Megatron comes with a maniature Sonic the Hedgehog game cartridge accurate down to the it's label.
It has been announced that only 1,000 of these will be produced making them a very rare and cool collectible item. We can procure these figures for $150 US (including free shipping world-wide) while stocks last, but you'll have to get in quick.
Orders officially close at 11.59pm, Thursday the 8th of January, 2015 but odds are that the limited 1,000 units will be reserved well before then. So, get in fast and snap up one of these highly collectible items.
TakaraTomy will send out ordered items in February with exact date to yet be advised.
Advance payments by PayPal to us here at Transformers Treasure Chest is required to reserve the figure.
In the event that the figures have sold out after receiving your payment, the full amnount will be immediately refunded to you through PayPal.
Please send inquiries and order requests to transformertreasurechest@gmail.com

Moved another advertisement into this topic.
This is the last warning - if you don't keep you business updates in the one topic, you won't be permitted to post any more sale posts on this site.
We don't currently charge toy dealers and businesses to advertise here, so we'd like to see them respect that, and us, by keeping it within reason (no flooding or spamming), and keep it all in the one "items update" topic.
If you were interacting here as a fan there might be some extra leniency, as there is more at stake for a fan to not lose their access to the local fan-community, but even that can only go so far as well.
People will be more willing to trust their money with someone who doesn't take on the appearance of a spammer, and at least interacts in some way as a "fellow fan".
Just some advice if you want to improve your prospects here, or on any Transformers fansite really.

Ummm, I'm really not sure where it's ok to post about these discount figures. This part of the forum is called eBay listings, Dealer Ads & Feedback, so it seemed appropriate. And I only posted once in one thread this time.
Could you tell me the exact area on this forum where these 'discount figure' posts can be put and not be breaking the rules, please ?

Ok, The Damned, thanks for the breakdown. So I should just add any new posts to the same one thread and this would be considered acceptable/not spamming. And not start any new threads when I post. I wonder if this would be acceptable....?
I am not out to break the rules and bother the members here, but rather offer them win-win deals where they can save some decent bread on TF figures.
On the matter of 'trust', I think buyers can rest assured as I have set this business up to receive payments through PayPay who are notorious for siding with the buyer in disputes no matter what and sometimes freezing the accounts of sellers indefinitely for any funny business claimed against them. PayPal is pretty scary for sellers actually with the horror stories I have heard.
Well, guys, the next time I post a discounted Transformer figure deal on here may be my last, so if I disappear from Ozformers you can find me on YouTube and FaceBook as 'Transformer Treasure Chest'.
Cheers,
Wade

If you are the one selling the items (full price or on discount), you keep it to the one sale topic that you have already started for your business (this topic) as an update to your inventory or business, NOT start a new topic for each new or discounted item.
Plus, half your post was promoting your business (not just advertising the "discount" toy), which could be seen as spamming with multiple topics to advertise the same business.
These rules are rather strict because we don't want businesses to abuse the concept of free advertising here.
If there are any queries or uncertainties, just contact one of the staff.
TransformerTreasureChest

Ok, I believe I understand the part about about not starting up multiple threads with the same post for business reasons.
My (just started) business IS providing discount Transformer figures so I'm not quite sure how to separate the discount figures ...from the discount figure business.
All the links were just different social media platforms to the same YouTube videos showing the figures I have found stock for. And to allow people to follow the social media account for convenience.
If you would like to set a limit on (social media?) links in a business post, I'd be happy to follow that. Again I'm not trying to bother the members, scam people or abuse the system.....just trying to make it easy for everyone to win here.
Sorry, if I'm being clumsy and intrusive about it.
