Fourth combiner team - Autobot Cars?

One of the sources of advance info is from Store computers, but it can also give false names of future product that gets cancelled or changed before release... so treat this as rumour until it gets confirmed from an official source.

Found on a Walmart computer (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generations-classics-44/rumor-transformers-generations-combiner-wars-sunstreaker-ironhide-prowl-and-mirage-incoming-181677/) are some Autobot car names under the Generations Deluxe category... Prowl, Mirage, Sunstreaker, Ironhide... so could the fourth combiner team actually be for the Voyager Optimus, and form a combiner that's inspired by the 1980s cartoon episode - Masquerade (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Masquerade)?

1st team - Aerialbots with Voyager Silverbolt & Legends Powerglide
2nd team - Stunticons with Voyager Motormaster & Legends Blackjack
3rd team - Protectobots with Voyager Hotspot & Legends Groove (unconfirmed)
4th team - Autobots with Voyager Optimus & Legends ?? (Windcharger?)


What makes this a good possibility is that these four Autobot Deluxes could be done as redecos of existing moulds.
Mirage done from Dragstrip.
Sunstreaker done from Breakdown.
Ironhide done from Offroad (taking on the similar alt-mode to the Movie Ironhide, done in red)
Prowl done from Streetwise (if that one proves to be legit)


If this proves true, do you think that this a good or bad idea?

Combining Dinobots was a very polarising concept, drawing support and hatred by fans... so will this have the same effect?
Will it give some fans the ability to create something they always dreamed about (these first-year characters combining), or will it be too unusual to accept due to it not having any story precedent to support it (as an actual combiner, not as the Masquerade one).

For anyone wondering... no, the Masquerade Autobots are not the same five as these ones, so we wouldn't be able to play out the episode unfortunately. :(

In that episode...
Optimus - Motormaster
Jazz - Dead End
Sideswipe - Breakdown
Mirage - Drag Strip
Windcharger - Wildrider

And if Hasbro doesn't ever recolour Dead End into Jazz or Breakdown into Sideswipe (as well as a really unlikely second Windcharger from either Dead End or Breakdown), you know FunPub will, just to complete the "Masquerade" set.

If this were to go ahead, i wouldnt be surprised at all if they just went ahead and used existing figures -it is Hasbro ;)

If they make a good enough looking Prowl I'll consider, since the Universe toy isn't the best-looking figure. Sunstreaker is the same, but he'll have to be pretty good to be better than the Universe toy. I'm planning to get the Autobot specialist set, so Mirage and Ironhide are a no-go.

What would be VERY cool is if they did them like the G2 Colour Changer figures so that they started off looking like the Stunticons but you could spray them with water so they could drop their disguises.

Do that, and the Geewuners will hold a parade in Hasbros honour! :D

Good thing so few games I want come out Q1 and 2 cause looks like I'll be spending all my cash on Transformers. I would have preordered them all already but I really want to see Takara's versions and of course they will be more expensive.

Hey, you might even have a favourable exchange rate if you go for Takara versions over Hasbro. ;)

I actually thought they would go with the Masquerade Autobot lineup.
But if this listing turns out to be a SPOILER for the IDW comics I'm glad that's not happening.
Although I'd really like one of those pretty trading cards with Jazz on it haha.

Slightly off-topic, but am really liking Off-Road's bot-mode (http://www.robotkingdom.com/b1177as01.html). Looks like an upscaled Micromaster. Would be great if they re-did a set of cars later to reflect Micromaster 4-pack sets lol :)
