Wow just one stormtrooper...then again accounting for army builders doesn't always work out, but no matter the case assortment it won't please everyone, from too many figs shelf warming or not enough of a fan fav.

I remember long time ago the first time I saw the dude, had a trolley inspecting the rouge one stuff at tru during that special release day, constantly examining figures, putting them in the trolley, from time to time shifting around and throwing stuff back into random places around the shop just to roll back up, very minor blemishes on the boxes he tossed away, if he was a collector I would of understood but he was constantly checking his phone, clearly setting something up once he took that trolley out.

So as I mentioned long time ago here I just shoved my way into the pegs (kids would just be glancing while parents kept saying "let him finish dear" even though he was there for a good 10 mins in between his rummaging, no idea why he would shuffle to another section of the store just to toss out "bad" figures out) and started fist punching...literally punching boxes to reach into the back of the pegs and giving boxes a bit of a squeeze, after that he up and left, tossed out a nice k2so on the way that just had a window blemish but the nicest paint apps out of them all, and left, trolley half full of what he did find "ok".

I swear tru need quantity limits, always thought the trolleys of transformers mp's by the trolley load were a myth, after encountering him its more than believable since I still see him from the few times I visit highpoint (wish it was down near my way, kids would naturally ruin boxes lol)

I keep coming across the 40th anniversary wave 2 figures (1 Toyworld, 1 Big W and now 1 TRU) but it's always Jawas and Death Squad Commanders (of course, I got them at Toyworld a week ago and have consecutively seen them at cheaper and cheaper prices... how do I have this power??). TRU Cannington had THREE Jawas... how many were in a case??

Nothing else of note. Just piles of crap that doesn't seem to sell. Those Vader packs had been sitting there for quite some time. Then went quite quickly. There was one left last week but it had a dented box. I've heard they are restocking it again soon.

While it’s a safe bet that we will still see action figures with five points of articulation, we have learned that Hasbro will be making a concerted effort for when it makes sense to the character to add somewhere within 6-8 points of articulation. While this action isn’t necessarily an unprecedented event in the simply-articulated action figure format (think of Admiral Ackbar and Unkar Plutt* from The Force Awakes line and Darth Vader from the Rogue One line), Jedi Temple Archives has learned that the standard 5POA format HAS NOT gone over as well as Hasbro had hoped. It’s a significant part of the reason that we’re seeing The Vintage Collection front and center again in the mainstream market. Stay tuned for more details as they emerge.

Went to my BigW tonight with the hope of finding a Jawa. And I did! I got 3 Jawa's now. 2 to open as you need 2 and one to keep sealed.

I think there's still another batch of Wave 1s (already produced) coming later in the year. They are just not making more from no on. At least that's what I think it means.

Living SOR sucks. Just one TRU and if you don't hit them in the 48 hour period they actually get new stuff in it's gutted. They never have any new stuff when I'm there frequently and then I miss the restocking. And Big Ws just never have anything at all unless I travel to Belmont, but I'm counting that as north. :P

The last time I joined a closed group they spent most of the time shitting on open groups and their behavior (the one they targeted was an international one with alot of kids in it), even doing little "raids" (joining, saying shit, leaving, having a chuckle afterwards), yet were high in regards in the specific community they belonged to and even had local celebs involved, I argued the point that their conduct wasn't the best until they spammed me with memes in my inbox...was disheartening when it was a person who I aspired to be like.

In short I can't see how they conducted themselves before joining thus I can't make an informed decision, people can vouch all they like but everyone forms opinions differently, and I'm paranoid about groups being private as a result

But do check toyworlds, they had MORE come in, found a scarif trooper squad leader and darth revan, what else is in this wave, and I thought the squadleader was supposed to be an exclusive :confused:

there is a regular scarif stormtrooper which was an exclusive at walmart in america. the squad leader is the one that came with everyone else.

I'm not kidding I spent hours digging through all the boxes of Ahsoka I could find to get one that looked decent. I think I just had to compromise and get the 'least bad' version :(

Well that was silly, 7am store opening for all tru stores and the plaza only had 4 people waiting, i had work matters to attend to so it was incidental lol.

Anyone willing to crack those black series centerpieces apart, I want to know if its purely plastic or something more solid, not gonna pay for a static plastic figure with an led in it.

Also (for once) tru is the CHEAPEST place for something, the black series speeders for both luke and rey are $120 at tru, at zing its $180, ouch, anyway still plenty of vaders in black series and 2 Thrawns but they looked kinda dirty, they had some of the others in the set but I believe the storm troopers are all gone, sorta looked like there was one on the pegs left when we walked in :S

I went past my local TRU this morning, I think they had all the new black series stuff. 3 Hera figures but they all had various paint issues or defects on the face. It might sound pedantic and silly but if I want to take photos and closeups or anything I want them to look right. I will see if the one near my work has more later today.

Scuttlebutt on FB groups seems to be that TRU and Zing are the only ones with black series figures for a while, other retailers either didn't want them or actually cancelled orders. Other figures possibly coming in October.

Found the Hera/Thrawn wave at Myer Garden City Booragoon today. $39.95 per fig but currently there's 40% off second toy so works out to around $32 a fig when you buy two.

It's so ridiculously overpriced, I know they did upgrade the Vader mould but the rest of the set is just some plastic and cardboard, I got mine at 60% off at TRU, I think low $30's, I also got two of the other figures for 50% off and then got Luke the other day at the reject shop for $10, slowly but surely I'll get it complete the cheapest way possible :D
The only other figure that was re-tooled is Leia. The rest are standard reissues of their Black Series versions.

The reissue Luke in X-wing gear figure has new face printing, apparently. Prefer boxed to carded as you can display them loose or in package. :) The upcoming Scout Trooper release will probably sell out fast.

Yeah haven't seen it in person yet but there are reviews comparing the two up already. Nicer eyes, but hoping that with it being an old sculpt there are better Lukes to come in terms of likeness.

Will be good to get some of the later waves updated though, as someone who wasn't actually collecting then the first few figures like Pilot Luke did seem to be a better quality than the majority of the line.

I cannot find a thread to perfectly fit my Star Wars toy comment so this will just have to do. I came across an ice-cream tub of my original Kenner 3 3/4" Star Wars figures recently and one thing it reminded me of was their smell.

These toys, both back in the day and even now, have a distinct plastic scent which, due to association, I love. But I've noticed the few recent Hasbro equivalents I've purchased are practically odorless. Is it just me?

A dozen or more figures sealed for years in the one container could contribute to it. However, I remember even just one figures smelling long after removal from its blister pack, having been standing on display shelves.

I think there is a small to whatever plastic they used back then. The rest of my experience comes from the importance of smell to memory, especially of formative experiences, as this dates back to me being 6-8 in the late 70s. :)

Now I'm stuck trying to source from a number of channels to get up to date.

So the Mrs put her foot down on my MISB collecting of Black Series to give to my son when he is 18. I had gotten all the numbered releases from when the current format started in 2015 up to 77 plus a few of the exclusives.

I said I just need the five remaining important characters to complete his collection. I counted Mace Windu, General Grievous, Boba Fett, Anakin and Darth Maul. And I forgot Yoda so that makes it six. That’s a nice end to this collection journey and it's kind of a relief. I hope he appreciates it when he gets it in about 8 years time!

At Myer Southland I saw the Star Wars Barbie Dolls on Saturday. I'm no fan of Barbie but gee these girls are mind blowing now that they're SW nerds.
