The next known figure in the Japanese Legends line (after Windblade in February) is Leader class G1 Megatron from Generations (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/japanese-transformers-40/masterpiece-g2-bumblebee-takara-legends-megatron-181812/)... in May.
Just a place-holder image floating around for now, but it is likely that the Japanese version should be more "Gen1 coloured".
And it is being promoted in the preliminary product image as a pairing to the MP-10 Optimus toy, which is more evidence that TakaraTomy is not likely to have a new MP Megatron toy on the horizon.

The pairing of the Megatron with the MP-10 Optimus toy, I believe is there for scale purposes. What is it also telling us, that a future masterpiece megatron is still way off. In the meantime please buy this toy :p
Its also a test for fans reactions, and maximizing potential sales for the leader mold.
With the MP line having a G2 sub-theme, with already g2 sideswipe released and now bumblebee has been announced, I say we will still see a new MP Megatron.

There will be an Armada version as well

It's not that different to the Hasbro. I'd say the Hasbro version has a better metallic silver. If the legs were black, I'd have switched to Takara.

I think MP-10 is on there as a cross sell for it's upcoming Takara re-release.

(And I'll keep believing a new Takara MP-Gun will be made :o ..someday)

Note that the direction of the fusion cannon is swapped between the Hasbro photography and the Takara photography. One way appears to provide a (red) projectile, while the other end appears to be a more G1 accurate styled cannon.

Good to know that the Legends line is continuing
Bad that there is a 3 month gap between LG-12 and LG-13 and double bad that there is no news on Japanese releases of Combiner Wars items.

Going to have to get Hasbro ones "NOW" as I haven't been this excited for new toys in a while and then get the Takara versions when (or if) released down the line.

Good spotting. The Takara head seems taller and boxier than the Hasbro one.

I've been waiting for this. Now I am waiting for HLJ to list it for preorder.

I think the photo of the Takara LG-13 is stretched. Just my opinion, but it doesn't look as stocky as the Leader Megatron from Hasbro.

I agree and feel the same way about combiner wars, I would prefer the takara releases but I can't wait for them. Hasbro has done a fine job with the range so far, so I have already ordered the first wave, and eagerly waiting on the second.

Available for preorder on HLJ (http://www.hlj.com/product/tkt83169?) and Amiami (http://www.amiami.jp/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-009760). Both pre-order prices are quite similar (Amiami is only about $5 cheaper). Amazon JP (http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%82%BF%E3%82%AB%E3%83%A9%E3%83%88%E3%83%9F%E3%8 3%BC-%E3%83%88%E3%83%A9%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B9%E3%83%95%E3%8 2%A9%E3%83%BC%E3%83%9E%E3%83%BC-%E3%83%AC%E3%82%B8%E3%82%A7%E3%83%B3%E3%82%BA%E3%8 2%B7%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC%E3%82%BA-LG13-%E3%83%A1%E3%82%AC%E3%83%88%E3%83%AD%E3%83%B3/dp/B00S4DZDVQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1421330382&sr=8-2&keywords=%E3%83%A1%E3%82%AC%E3%83%88%E3%83%AD%E3%8 3%B3) also has it listed at full RRP, which is not unusual; they may advertise their pre-order discount price later, but even if you preorder it now, price guarantee policy means that they will charge you the cheaper discount price.

This might as well be a MP class since they are all made out of plastic anyways.
There wouldnt be any difference or very little between this Leader Class Megs and the MP Optimus.

Nothing wrong with plastic. Unlike diecast the paint doesn't easily chip/scratch and it's cheaper to produce and ship. I'm disappointed that the MP line is going back to using diecast.

Anyway I just preordered Megs from HLJ. I hope we see more of the non-Combiner Wars figures from TT in the Legends line. So many characters didn't show up in the TG line in 2014.

Sure there is nothing wrong with plastic, but the price should reflect that.
How is it fair charging $150 for a plastic figure that is a "MP" when they charge $50 for the same things under the "LG" line? Heck they dont even have rubber tires. How is that really a "MP"? At least having SOME diecast (like inner frame) can justify the expensive price tag. And diecast can chip just as easily as anything else.

What do you mean they are going back using diecast? Did I miss something?

Could be the classic line 'photographer wasn't given transformation instructions'.

Dude, Leader Classes in Australia cost $100, so $150 for MP Optimus Prime isn't too bad by comparison. And it's not just materials, there's volume -- MP Optimus Prime also comes with a big trailer/combat deck and Roller car as well as the robot. MPs are also a much higher class of engineering, far more component parts of manufacture and assemble compared to a Leader. And $150 for MP10 is still cheaper than TakaraTOMY's original price, which was 23100JPY (approx. $250). Sure, the TakTOM version has nicer colours overall, but I'm happy to have my Hasbro version for $100 less. :o And look, I do agree that MPs are overpriced for what they are, which is why I prefer to pre-order them and get them at substantially cheaper prices.

Oh almost definitely. Particularly to differentiate the Armada vs G1 figure.

I just find myself liking either version o the G1 (Hasbro vs Takara) more based on that realisation. :)

Except that $100 is not very good for a Leader class figure. It may be our retail, but it kind of sucks.

Those prices where just examples.
I did not know about the diecast in MP22 or 24. Thats cool!

What turned me off is "MP"'s like Bumblebee. You pay a premium price for something not that great. Plastic everything. Could they at least put rubber tires on them?
Sure the engineering may be a little bit more complex but the over quality isnt there for me. Maybe I am expecting to much.

GoktimusPrime

The engineering in MP Bumblebee is spectacular; it puts some Leader Classes to shame! Yes, I agree that it is very small, but that was to make the robot mode scale as a Mini-Bot compared to the other MP Cars. Unfortunately it makes the vehicle mode off-scale to the other Cars, but it's because physical toys can't mass-shift like the cartoon. :p They did compensate by adding the Spike in Exo-Suit accessory. I know that some people would've preferred that they ditched Spike and focused on making a bigger and slightly more complex Bumblebee, but that would've made the robot mode off-scale; and yeah, I think that would've been better too... but I can totally understand why they went for the smaller size decision. :o

But Bumblebee is seriously one of my favourite MPs to date. Totally blew my expectations for that toy out of the water. :)

Just saw official images of the Takara version on HLJ and the Hasbro version on BBTS and I'm hard pressed to see any difference between the two. Can anyone else detect any differences besides the tank gun being longer on the Takara version? Since they are both the same price roughly trying to decide which to preorder - almost looks like the definitive Generations Megs!

Note for those looking, you can only preorder the Hasbro Megs along with Armada Megs from BBTS as the individual ones are all gone.

The HLJ images could still just be the Hasbro toy as a place-holder until the Japanese version is revealed, which often happens closer to their release (this one is still four months away).

There is an asterisk on the HLJ page, indicating they are showing the USA version, I am sure someone who knows Japanese can translate

Finally an image has surfaced (https://twitter.com/T_soiya/status/579203857416228864/photo/1) of what the Japanese version of Generations Leader class Megatron will look like... and it looks to be a deeper silver, but removes most of the red on the Hasbro version.

Not sure what that image is actually printed on, but there is speculation that it comes with the Japanese version of the All Hail Megatron TPB comic.

I will wait till I have both in hand to decide. Might keep one and pose with MP10.

Nice wish I could find some for 30% off last week at Target. Not the Armada one.

TF YUKI on Twitter has just posted the in-package pics and surprisingly he is in Robot Mode!

Looks like Ultramagnus will also gonna join Megs in robot mode based in their box size.
