I'm surprised a thread for Pre-Transformers toys doesn't already exist (or maybe it does but I couldn't find it on the board's search function -- if so, feel free to merge threads :o). Anyway, this thread is for anything relevant to pre-Transformers toys: Diaclone, Microman, Dorvack, Macross VF-1S, Beetras, Astro Magnum, Mecha-Bot 1 etc. :)
Anyway...
Translation of 1982 Diaclone Car Robot catalogue (http://www.transformerland.com/blog/diaclone-toy-catalog-scans-translation-1982-pre-transformers-car-robot/) :)

It's nice to have translations of these catalogues for those of us who don't understand Japanese.
I think your new thread is a bit more general, but there is a similar thread (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=14414) dedicated to purchases of pre-TFs.

I have the entire dorvack 1/55 scale series. When I saw road buster and whirl, they were considered ko to me. :)

Other than the pre-Insecticons, I don't ever recall seeing a single Waruder toy as a kid.

I had a similar experience, because unlike their predecessors, TFs lacked the little pilots and the missiles weren't springloaded. :)

Glad I wasn't the only one. Lol
In fact I laughed when they made sky link a transformer.
I also has reflector but he was smashed. Same with jazz and sideswipe diaclone.

The only dorvack that didn't became a transformer.
