This isn't a surprise to me, everytime I'm on eBay, thinking about buying Masterpieces I usually avoid the cheaper ones as they are most of the time KO's (thankfully they say they are KO's)

this is the most disappointing product, I hope they get shut down.

TAKASA TONY??? At least packaging shows it is obviously KO and not much of spot the tiny difference...

If we can't prevent accurate KOs, the least they can do is have something obvious to identify them, on the toy and packaging... so at least the packaging of this one has something on it to identify it from online listings.
And if there is something obvious on the toy out of packaging, even better.

Nice pick up. I miss the days when there are obvious mistakes in KOs.

There's also a "C" on the bottom left of the box where the autobot symbol goes.

Yeah, but these obscure errors aren't always quickly picked up at first glance and may only be noticed after purchase. Not all buyers are actively wary of counterfeits. :( And the "TAKASA" thing is most likely a typo rather than a deliberate choice by the counterfeiters to 'help' collectors distinguish their filthy fakes from the legit figures.

Hopefully Hasbro's release of MP Wheeljack here will work to diminish the potential number of Aussies who might get stung by this thing. But I fear that there may be some collectors who missed out on getting both the TakTOM and Hasbro version who might be deceived by this fake. There are a lot of more casual collectors of Transformers who collect MPs; many of them don't have the savvy or knowledge to look out for counterfeits. Heck, let's face it, many of us more enthusiastic collectors have been unwittingly stung before. Gah... this is why I despise counterfeits so much!

This is a KO Version, not the Official one !

Buyers who have a high request and standard on the item , please don't buy. I suggest you buy the Official one!

i can't be angry at this guy. hey, at least he's honest.

At least most of the cheap Masterpieces on eBay say "KO Version", but it's in the description so you better be careful.
Though even then you still need to be careful with ones that don't say KO version, I've seen plenty of KO's from people who don't say if it's legit or not.

But no matter how "honest" the initial dealers might sometimes be with these, it is what happens to them when they get into circulation. Some people will sell them on as the real thing knowing they are fake, while other people will try to resell them because they thought they were the real thing and they got a great deal (like Gen1 KOs that people resell, believing they are originals that they came across for a steal).

As usual one is already even including a KO anti hypnosis device

As look as they are good quality KOs, I would buy them over the massive after retail prices

I'd rather pay inflated after-market price for a legit toy than pay a cheap price for a filthy counterfeit. And I've done that once -- for MP Red Alert. I skipped on pre-ordering the toy and ended up paying $100 for one off the aftermarket, double what the pre-order would've cost me. But I'd rather pay that knowing that it's a real product than pay a cheaper price for a fake. Besides, the cost of that counterfeit on eBay isn't much cheaper than the original pre-order price for the original. Every time someone purchases a counterfeit, they are financially supporting that vile, disgusting illicit industry that preys on ripping off collectors.

The good thing is that I haven't actually bought a KO, and I see where your standing. I generally don't like KOs, I was only talking about G1 KOs that were plentiful and the same as the actual figure in the 80s. I wouldn't buy a MP KO

I happily buy the real deal figures rather than KO's. However a mate of mine just had his 40th and I may pick one of these KO's up for him as Wheeljacks alt-mode is his favourite TF figure. I can't afford to be spending $100 on gifts for mates

Just my own personal standards -- but I personally wouldn't even buy a counterfeit of a vintage toy. I'd rather not own a toy at all than get a fake. I'm not judging or criticising anyone else, this is just purely my own personal position on the matter. :) Admittedly I was really tempted to get a fake G1 Spike for my then Spikeless Fortress Maximus. But I bit the bullet and got a legit one, which actually worked out cheaper than getting the fake! And of course, TakaraTOMY's since reissued Fortress Maximus, making me extra glad that I didn't fork out for a fake Spike!

Remember ko ratbat. That thing vanished so quickly due to inane demand.

If exhaust goes on the market, I wanna see the eBay listing repeat what happened when Ratbat hit the scene.

~50 sold in the last hour

It will be way more if they stick to the original roof top design.
I will buy one, in this case. I like to see how Marlboro takes them down.

I saw one about a week ago. Sorry, I only saw this post just now so I didn't think to take a screenshot. It was only about $50 too...
