I was on the TF wiki today and found this

1984 — Marvel Comics' Transformers #1 hits newsstands (with a cover date of September). This was the very first Transformers product made available... so Happy Anniversary, Transformers!

Does anyone own this item? If so, happy 31st Anniversary!

Yes, May the 8th is the earliest confirmable 1984 "anniversary" date for Transformers, so fansites in America will sometimes commemorate this day as the official birthday for Transformers. But since they are a day behind, we don't usually see it mentioned on their sites until tomorrow our time.
