Hi guys,

Been working on a repaint for Powerglide now that we have a good base to work from. The aim is to detail some of the G1 homage ie: the Exclaimation mark in the stomach area and the colour scheme to match. This is a WIP and still waiting for the paint to dry.

I will post Alt mode once the paint is dried.

Hope you guys like it.

I have tried to follow the colour scheme of G1 toon.

Gobsmacking. Inspires me to do my own repaints but I'm not very good with the brush especially with the finer details. I like the white to red ratio and honours the G1 version accurately.

Thanks for the comments guys. Really appreciate it.

Really think this should be have been close to what Hasbro should've released, instead of waiting for Henkei, I thought I would do my own.

Blackie, thank you.

Pulse, yes, I was informed by other customisers to use spray paint. I am traditionally a hand painter myself.. I think you can achieve the smoothness with care in paint without having to rely on spray painting and this gives me control although it takes longer.

Stompy, you never know until you try. The universe is a great place to start as Hasbro gave us really good base to work from. As you can also see with what RumbleFrenzy did with their menasor too.

Thanks, the alt mode when I painted looked ever more G1. Will post pics of the alt mode as soon as it is dried properly.

Thanks for the comments so far.

That's cool. Still has orange boobies but I guess there's not much you can do about it. :p

Wow, and you told me this is hand painted, woooow! I wouldve ended up with a freakin messy figure had I attempted that. This is how the figure shouldve been released. A plane CAN be red I don't care what Hasbro's reason was!

Nice paint, did you paint around the lettering?

You know what KC, I think I hate you a little bit! :D

That is some fantastic work, you paint so quickly and beautifully, count me as extremely envious.

Delicious. Now I am craving toffee-apples. I was dubious with having a red coloured plane but that red hue you used is just right to not make it look ridiculous. Great work!

That looks great!

I too would have prefered Gray arms instead of red like Takara has done. One of the things that I may do is if I find some irrepairable Junker Universe Powerglide in the future, I may swap the arms with the USA Edition one.

Hi guys,

Thanks a plenty for the warm reception to this figure.

Yes, he does look a little candy like huh.. and definitely, a red plane is so much more eye candy too. :)

Liegeprime thanks for the comment. Give it a try, I am sure it will turn out well.

Gamblor, this took a bit of care but the paint I used, lightly brushing meant that the read did not cover the black text as its got a level of transparency when lightly brushed on. But care needed to be taken otherwise, it will overpower the black.

i_am_trunks - :( We can share some notes on customs... I am sure together, we maybe able to make some great figures.

Stompy - got a mental picture in my mind if this alt figure was used as a lollipop and viewed in public. Not a good sight due to the implications you may have offending young kids.

Kup and Gutsman - yeah, G1 or not, the red should've been great but it does break up the colour abit. We would probably complain the hands are too bland if not the red.

Anyway, I have updated yesterday the silverbolt and not sure if I will get time this weekend to do some more work but if any updates, you guys can see the progress of that figure.

Have a great weekend everyone.

I'd have painted over the orange breasts. Still, great effort!
