If you are a current comixology user , you may have heard that IDW are no longer going be powered by them and have now released their own series of comic apps. If you register with IDW before 12 Jul you'll get some free TF comics like volume 1 of MTMTE and RID. Also vol 1 of Classics and Dark Cybertron. Some of the new motion comics also available. Great for those who have heard about these series but have yet to try. Also other comics like TMNT are also given free.

By the way FCBD RID is available to download for...free :)

Been trying to find a link but no luck so far. I created an account from the TF comics app. After creating and logging in you can look into those series and it will say restore on the button next to the comics which are part of this promo which means it's inked to your account to download for free.

New IDW is terrible. User interface has gone backwards. Page transitions and auto zoom settings gone, store is a bit harder to navigate....

Why did they change it? It wasn't broken. Not happy at all

How do I get my free comics? I have made the account and I am on the 'Tap Here to Start' screen? Help please.

Edit: Nevermind found out how to do it :o

You should be able to go to the top right hand corner, press and go into my books. There are none on your device, but click on in the cloud.

Now I see all my prior purchases, but no new comics, but your mileage may vary

Why did they change it? It wasn't broken. Not happy at all

I think I'm just going to get the base Comixology app and use that instead. Sure this one allows motion comics, but those are kinda stupid...

100% agree and to add to the issues I have with it I cant use the new app on my ipad as it is not supported (its an old ipad but come on)

also I don't see a point to all this unless either unless they start offering digital downloads with hard copy purchase

the IDW books are pricey to begin at least with marvel the same price point gives you the digital download you even get digital download with trades and hardcovers

they are so far behind in the industry.

with comixology dropping in app purchases and now this, I will find it hard to be motivated to buy or read any digital comics

what a terrible decision

I am a believer that in this day and age - Any hardcopy purchase should come with an ebook code. I prefer to read on a device while travelling or commuting as it can be cumbersome to take books but when I am at home, prefer to read from actual hard copies.

My biggest issue with this app is I can't find it, I'm running a Galaxy S4 and searching for IDW comics, IDW transformers comics and transformers comics yields no results apart from comixology which I already have installed.

Am I missing something.

I think its Apple only app... which sucks cause I am running the same setup and cant find it either :p

Yeah it's pretty great way to piss off older users. And I'm not sure how it's helping get more business anyway....strange decision by IDW

Was so much fun the other day when I went to open the app to catch up on some of my back issues....new app opened instead with nothing there. Not one single issue on my over 100 downloaded previously.

Just creates work for me as a user. If that's the objective that's a success I guess. Comics are a distraction for me, a form of entertainment that should made available for me instantly. I have paid decent money for the privilege. Thanks IDW

Don't worry GoFigure. You can still access all of your previous purchases with your Comixology account - you just need to install the Comixology reader and enter with your username/password

Yeah just bandwidth man....I got a crapload of issues in mybooks :p

Soo, does this mean comixology is still supporting IDW for non apple users? I don't get it.

I don't get many comics electronically but what I do have is all on my phone on comixology at the moment.

Yes you can still buy IDW from comixology.com, thankfully. I like all my purchases in the one central app

Thank goodness, I'm on Android too with Comixology and was worried they weren't supporting further IDW comics. Luckily it seems they do.

I had the same issues as you guys, couldn't find this new TF IDW app. I thought maybe it was the Madefire one so downloaded that, but after following the instructions I couldn't access all my old Comixology comics through it. Guess it wasn't that app after all.

Think I'll stick with Comixology as well, I do enjoy the panel zoom feature. Dunno, might try getting one of the comics through Madefire to see what all this animation and sound fuss is all about. Don't know if it will be an enhancement or a distraction from the comic...
