The Tie Fighter is way to expensive for the amount of Lego in it.

Can confirm. Tie fighter rrp $299 tumbler $329. Im going to take a guess and say the toy sale will have a blanket 20% off all lego. Tie id imagine will be about 199

Apparently there's panic buying at full price 3 weeks before the sale even starts. :(

After the big w items sold out weeks before the sale (albeit the price was not going to be discounted) I cannot say I'm surprised. If the tumbler or tie do get discounted, take them back and get the discount then.

Or just sell them on eBay for crazy markups. Whichever.

The Tie fighter & Tumbler can be bought at those prices from the LEGO site with free shipping. What is wrong with people?

Average person, ie mum or dad shopper... Probably doesn't know about S@h.... Also non credit card shoppers

For myself, a guy put 650 in my hand for my spare haunted house on Friday... So I went to the CBD and bought both home now to save the hassle of sale day night/next say trying to shop before work

I noticed Target in Brisbane CBD had around 15-20 Ewok villages out last Wednesday at full price, my guess is (in their mind) if the stores sell items at full price before the sale they get more profit.

That's not how retail staff think. Staff put products out early as they cannot physically put it all out the night before the sale. Store staff don't care about profit

Haha you're right, although I'd argue that "there's too much stock out the back and in the way so it was put on the floor" mentality of staff.
