That's weird because the combined mode is pretty stable. I was thinking that the upgrade may have been to make the set more g1 or something

Though flawed, I think Sonicdrill may be my favourite. Those little touches like the eye piece and the drill fist just put him over the edge on independent play value.

I think it would be worth it. IMO you get your moneys worth when compared with what you get with newer official chug toys. Yeah they are cheaper but you don't get much for the money they cost.

The maketoys combiners are very very good. I think they are worth every dollar. When combined they look much more cohesive than the official combiners.

Nice Photo shoot Kup, worked well with the darker background and glass under the figures.

I'm not a fan of all of the design cues taken with Quantron but it is a very nice set. tempting me, especially given the reveal of the mediocre retool of silverbolt for scattershot.

Thanks guys! At first I had some minor issues here and there but on subsequent plays, I realized they were really minor and I was being picky or I had mistransformed some bit.

Overall, it is a great toy but unfortunately, it makes the official stuff which isn't that bad look really bad...

I have transformed all of them back and forth several times. They have good design in whhich when you are about to accidentally add too much pressure, the ball joint disconects - Similar to some official toys.

In regards to tabs on Sonic Drill, I have not had any issues. They just need to be aligned and are stubby enough not to feel they are going to break.

Yeah the light cycle was a really cool choice for alt mode. That's what I like about Maketoys/FansProjects and also MMC - They don't just try to mimic G1 but provide their own takes on the characters. That is also why I liked Classics and subsequent lines too.
