Do the Madman releases of the Japanese G1 shows have English voice actors or English subtitles?
Thanks

Option for either but the voice overs are terrible

Unless you prefer hearing bad voice actors butcher the script and names- Blaster is Billy, Spike is Sparkle, Blurr is Wally & Soundblaster is New Soundwave, then go for it. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcFfnVVJ9wU)

I recommend Japanese Audion and the sub option
Headmasters was easily the worst out of the 3

Thanks for confirming that, I have heard elsewhere that was the way to go. I only have the Headmasters from the Japanese G1 Trilogy but I only got about 10 episodes in with the English dub. Rewatching on subtitles only is on my list of things to do.

The voice acting is only there as a novetly. It's alright if you don't take it seriously.

There is a pretty good fandub on Youtube by Prime Productions. So far only episode 7 is on there but it's neato.

Those dubs do not represent what I would consider either acting nor English. (-_-)

Yeah... :)

The Star TV dubs are fairly (in)famous within the fandom for being so absurd and illogical and poorly synced with the visual (as well as grating on the ears). TFWiki has a whole article dedicated to them - http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Omni_Productions#The_dubs

Madman included them in the Australian release (and Metrodome in the UK) as a fun add-in, but I don't think they ever intended anyone to actually use them seriously.
