I don't see the point of making Skylynx a combiner. Sounds more like a corporate push as in 'Everything needs to combine because that's the gimmick now'.

However he looks decent enough but the Lynx mode looks awful, I hope that it is a case of mistransforming.

I think the Lynx mode is a kludge. I don't recall seeing it when they had this guy on display at the hasbro booth earlier in the year.

I couldn't care less about the gestalt mode, but this toy looks awesome enough on its own merit! :D The Lynx mode would probably be better if it weren't a gestalt, but c'est la vie. ;)

If the (third) combiner mode looks a bit weird or odd, just treat it like a bonus you don't use, and just play or display it in one of the two "regular" modes.
I did that with most of the Energon toys, as the combiner gimmick to retailers meant that many of the individual toys' appearance or playability was sacrificed.

That's one of the great things about many of these combiner toys - I want two sets of the main teams because the toys are great as a non-combiner (individual), and great in combined form.... but if I don't like one mode, the toy will spend most of its time in the other 2 modes (Voyager core) or other 3 modes (Deluxe limbs).

Let's hope they haven't overly compromised the main modes in favor of the combining gimmick as they did the Energon toys. Recent toys already have shortcomings due to cost cutting so the combiner mode would have taken budget from some other part, I just hope it's minor.

Overall, happy we are getting a new Skylynx. Nobody else has done it not even the 3rd parties. So far it is looking good and I am looking forward to proper photos so we can really see what is and what isn't.

Looks sick, Sky Lynx is one of the few aircraft alt modes that can genuinely get away with having a fat stack of robotic limbs on the underside :D

Very interested in getting an updated Sky Linx. Do not like the Sky Reign limb team, and can't visualise any combinations of available limb figures that makes sense. At a stretch, perhaps Kup, Blurr, Blaster and Goldbug from Return of Optimus Prime? Being a real geewunner about this as I'm 20 issues behind on the comics.

In Combiner mode Skylynx is about the same size as others, but the beast mode is almost Leader size because of all the parts sticking out like legs, wings and the long neck.

An aftermarket tail-fix would probably be in high demand. Hope PE comes up with a high quality upgrade set for that.

wish OZ has that quick TF distribution. The only problem there are scalpers that picks up the rarest in the box case. But that has already been resolved by having an announced distribution day where you line up in the mall so that you get the items first before they went to market

yeah i came here 2013 and felt may be it is just because im in ACT that there is not enough TFs here but after a couple of years looks like we are more lucky here that other cities at some point. But the good thing is we have competitive online sellers now :D

* Encore Sky Lynx (2008); not released here other than in some independents. I think that this was a special import (this toy shelf warmed in Japan, so it might've been leftover stock) rather than a proper mass-market release
* TFPBH Skylynx (2013); not released here

I might be wrong about Cybertron Sky Lynx (did anyone get theirs locally?), but this would certainly be the first time that a toy based on the G1 Sky Lynx character would be released here. That is of course, if Hasbro releases it here※... <knock.on.wood> :o
