From TFW (http://news.tfw2005.com/2015/12/12/victorion-g2-combiners-platinum-planet-junk-set-tru-computers-306696) -

2005 Board member Novabeam10 has shared some SKU item numbers from a Canadian Toys R Us with us. Three of the sets are appear to be Combiner War gift sets. While they listings don’t specify, our presumptions are listed below. Among these new TRU listings are:

Fan built combiner 778971 149.99 (Victorion)
Menasor 778969 149.99 (G2)
Superion 778966 149.99 (G2)
Planet of Junk Platinum set 736239 109.99

Unsure on what the new Platinum set could be. Possible G1 Reissue of Wreck-Gar? Perhaps a set of various Wreck-Gar/Junkion figures? Time will tell! Keep watching TFW as we gather more information. I think it will be a large box of various Scrapheap/Wreck-Gar etc moulds.

Hoping it's some different versions of the Wreck Gar and Junkheap deluxes. We need more junkions. G1 wouldn't be too bad either, if it had say G1 Springer and Wreck Gar.

Wonder if we would see Nancy since she was one of the few named Junkions in the G1 cartoon and the toy companies are finally makign a few more femmebots

I would like a pack of 10 junkions and some junkers sold for $100

If they use the Takara Tomy United colour scheme for them I would think about it. That G1 accurate Takara Tomy Wreck-gar goes for a pretty penny on ebay and I'd love to get him.

I would say Planet of Junk, is referencing the scene in the Movie. Its the scene where one of the Autobot ships makes a forced landing on Junkion the planet of Junk. Soon after the Autobots are attacked by the Junkions. Just speculating I believe this set will include at least 4 characters. Wreck Gar, and maybe at least 1 Junkion Warrior, Arcee, and Springer. I know Ultra Magnus was present but I am doubtful he will be in it. If they include another character it could be Blurr.

Planet of Junk seems to aptly describe many recent Hasbro releases. :p

I want to believe it will be a bunch of remolded or repainted RTS Wreckgar molds, but I think repaint/remolds of CW legends Groove are more likely.

I'd be fine with Generations Wreck Gar, Generations Junkheap and United Scrapheap being repainted all chrome and nice.

Unless this is something like a collection of repainted deluxe junkions, with different heads, it's highly likely this will be a set of nice stuff I don't need.

Via DaimChoc (https://www.facebook.com/DaimChocReports/posts/203109683372800).

So we're getting Wreckgar, Autobot Hot Rod and Junkion Scrapheap.

A little unexciting - that classics Rodimus mold is almost as well used as the seeker mold - but interesting to see them use the name Hot Rod for a toy again. Feels like that's been quite a while.

And by the time Hot Rod showed up it was time to stop fighting - this should be "Planet of Junk Dance Party" ;)

Yeah, you're gonna need a lot of "energon goodies" to really get excited about this set! ;)

Hell, I don't have any of these molds, but if this is on closeout, i'll maybe think about it...

Too bad they felt the need to paint up Scrapheap's face (http://tformers.com/platinum-edition-planet-of-junk-set-revealed-in-new-pictures/28382/news.html). I am still after the original United Scrapheap (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers-toys/view/transformers-united/scrapheap-e-hobby/2358/1/67/) but prices for this one guy who only got microseconds of airtime are hard to justify.

Well we didn't get Nancy but it's cool to get Scrapheap rather than Junkheap. However I already have that Wreck Gar and 2 of that Hot Rod/imus so can't justify buying the set just for Scrapheap

It's surprising to see them using the Hotrod name after all these years of Mattel's ownership of it preventing it.

I didn't think that Hasbro would create a logo or sticker for the Movie anniversary. It's not as significant as the beginning of a series. It feels like they are going to have that logo used more than the BW logo this year.

^lol, well said! :D I'd get that mould if it were sold separately, but I'm not going to pick up a whole three pack just to get it.

Really glad to see that Hasbro has managed to get the rights to Hot Rod back (even if it's "Autobot Hot Rod"; better than Rodimus... which was better than Rodimus Major (https://s3.amazonaws.com/tf.images/reduced-rehrodma.jpg)). So if Hasbro should ever decide to release MP Hot Rodimus, then they should be able to use that name (or if Hasbro AP decides to release it, I can use it in the translation ;)).

Being a G1 fan I am totally disappointed by this. Not as disappointed as the rumoured dinobot reissue that turned out to be AOE... but still disapointed. I guess I was hoping for G1 Wreckgar, Blurr and Springer. I knew Perceptor wouldn't be involved because of his other Platinum reissue and Ultra Magnus was always going to be too big to fit easily in a box set.

Oh well, now to decide whether to buy or pass.... probably pass...

Looks really nice for collecting Junkions. I still have none yet so I might get it for the two if it's reasonably priced. Though it's nice they got Hot Rod back, it's a shame it's a not-so-great deco on him. If it was really nice like United Rodimus I'd be nothing but in, but this doesn't work that nice with the yellow thighs and too red chest which should have orange. Doesn't beat the Battle in Space Rodimus except for the blue windshield, which does attract me a bit.

Maybe.

is 'scrapheap' like a 'genericon' sort of thing? or a separate character? is it a re-mould of the wreck gar one or just paint?

Except that I'm pretty sure your full of crap, I'd split the hot rod out of a set no worries, but I want both the Junkions, just like everyone else in the world except for Hot Rod Completists. and Goki got in first:D

Tfwiki has a page on Junkions that I think identifies each main one from the movie and names them. Most have different bodies but for the toys we just get different heads... which is still pretty good to get three Junkion toys.

It's like they're trying to cut out the middleman by selling products for prices they'd reach way later in the aftermarket, which are completely unreasonable.
