Warning: Review may contain Force Awakens spoilers!!!

Standard Black Series packaging, but in a much larger box (50% more air! :p), with a nice piece of art of Kylo Ren's head, but rather then having a plain red inside, the box has nice art of the trees from the final confrontation in Force Awakens, where Rey whoop's Ren's ass on Starkiller base.

Accessories:

Kylo Ren comes with an ignited lightsaber, a lightsaber hilt and a base for him to stand on, too replicate Starkiller Base. Unusually, Vader comes with one lightsaber with a removable blade, but this guy comes with one on and one off? TBH I prefer this however, as Vader's blade has a tendency to fall out after a little bit of play. The base is nice, but only for display. It has an area that could potentially link up to another 'Starkiller Base' exclusive if they ever release one.

Figure:

This guy is awesome. Like Vader, only one hand is designed to hold the lightsaber, the other is in a Force Push/Force Grip position. My one complaint with this figure, is that the lightsaber hand holds the lightsaber a bit loose, but not loose enough it will fall out of his hand constantly (like the Elite Series one).

The head sculpt is amazing, the helmet looks exactly how it looked in the movie, it even has a wash over the metal part. Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of his head, but I wish I had. With the exception of the robes around his neck (which is rubber), all of his robes are made from cloth.

Articulation: The same as Vader, but with one more point in his right hand.

Overall: Like Vader, this is an awesome figure, even too pay full retail for. At $35, this guy has the equivalent of Transformers Masterpiece articulation and accuracy, but at a price slightly over that of a deluxe. My only complaint is the slightly loose grip on his lightsaber, but I think that may only be on mine. If you have too choose between him and Emperor's Wrath Vader, I would personally recommend Kylo Ren.
9.5/10 for mine, but for others without loose grip 10/10.
Warning!: Look in the packaging before buying Kylo Ren! Because of the way he is packaged the lightsaber might be bent! Mine wasn't, but I am just warning you in case you decide to buy one.

Also, just wondering, why would he have his helmet on if he was on Starkiller Base for the final fight? In the final scene he doesn't have his helmet on...

I prefer this version of his lightsabers as the regular release version has a weird triangle representation of the red beams [to accommodate the removable blades]

Recycling of previous moulds. you should be used to that now with TF :p
Having a look at Rebel Scum.com, there doesn't appear to be a listing for an unmasked version of Kylo, either... yet. :)

Yeah, I prefer this version of the lightsaber too. That triangle thing looks weird.

Haha, yeah, I know it was a redeco, but it just makes in that tad bit inaccurate. (Unleashes Nerdy Nitpicks)

Where can I buy this at retail? I'm new to Star Wars. Or is it cheaper online?

What Soundwave said. Premium Collectables did have him in stock, but at $40. If you can't find one locally, I can buy one for you and send it to you.

Pretty disappointing that a toy at this size and price point doesn't have a removable mask, especially considering that (spoiler)Kylo Ren removes his mask and fights maskless on Starkiller Base. :( Heck, I find it disappointing that a lot of the 10cm/$15 figures don't have removable helmets or masks considering that many Star Wars figures from a few years ago did. Actually, there are some that do, but they exclusively come with vehicles. e.g. Poe Dameron w/ flight suit and removable helmet only comes w/ his X-Wing. The stand alone figures are either with the flight suit and non-removable helmet, or his regular clothes with a "Centurions" power armour style removable helmet/pack. I went with the latter, as I like to have the removable helmet, but I'm not going to purchase an X-Wing fighter just to get it flight suit.

I'm just finding the whole standard of the Force Awakens toys to be a big leap backwards in design/engineering compared to previous figures. Glad that I'm not a serious collector of SW figures anymore.

Yes this is true, but the normal Black Series 6 inch Vader (not the Emperor's Wrath one) has a removable helmet, and he kinda suffers from it. The articulation is limited and there is paint rubbing on the head and the under helmet.

TBH I would rather a seperate Kylo Ren without his helmet be released then take away from an already nice figure. I was just expressing that I would rather this exclusive be the version that didn't have a helmet, as it is based on the final fight on Starkiller Base.
