Optus are lucky it’s not Singapore, they fine broadcasters when they do not air what they are charging people for.

Optus drew enough ire and criticism when they snatched the EPL and put it behind a double paywall. Lost even more credibility by not having the ability to handle the load.

It’s beyond me how Australian companies and government departments are unable to create any site or online service that can actually do what it is meant to do and handle the traffic it is meant to handle.

TBH that's the most galling part of the Optus response to this, which was basically 'yeah we've done an investigation and it turns out that our paid subscription service shat itself because of the amount of people logging on to use it'.

It's the f***ing World Cup. What did they expect?

Yeah it was an awesome Grand Final! Tied at 3qtr time then West Coast take the lead for only the second time in the game with 5 minutes left on the clock.

Really great to watch such a close game - made it very entertaining
