Selected additional comments

Combiner Wars toys

"2015 was Year Of The Combiner. Or was that "Year Of Relentlessly Milking The Combiner Toys And Swiftly Get Rid Of Them For The Next Big Fad"? The line started great, but spiraled into a descent of ridiculousness by the last few waves."

"A nice return to form, simple transformations that are fun, not fiddly and easy for all."

"Combiner gimmicks, effective and elegant engineering (the designer who came up with the combiner port system deserves a reward), heavy homages to G1 in lots of different ways are but a couple of good things I can gush about this line."

"Haven't been so happy since Animated."

"I'm impressed with Hasbro (and Takara) for producing combiners of classic characters that actually look kinda decent! It happened! Be nice if we got a predaking somewhere down the line."

"The reuse was executed fantastically. Bring on the beasts!"

"To many repaints. Loss of originality with so many repaints."

Robots In Disguise toys

"Didn't bother with any RID figures this year."

"Didn't collect them."

"Everything about robots in disguise is a disappointment as a followup to the greatness that was Transformers Prime"

"Hate it. Passed on everything. Worst line in history."

"Not interested in this show or toyline."

"Other then the Warriors, it was hard to pick a favourite because they mostly sucked."

"Too many different "lines" that focus on gimmicks. Didn't work for the movies, why keep doing it?"

Transformers cartoons

"Although the toy line was bad the cartoon was very enjoyable to watch. Not as great as prime but rid15 was entertaining."

"Haven't watched a single episode of either so can't comment."

"I did not expect to like RID, but after watching a later episode I found that I really enjoyed the characterisations and team dynamics, so I went back and watched the whole series!"

"I like both as kids programs, they are very watchable and easy on the eye. The older fans have the comics to keep us entertained!"

"Rid was terrible. Just... terrible."

"Shame RiD is ending with season 2 I'm really enjoying it. And it's great we got it here so fast."

"Steeljaw is easily the best Decepticon leader in years. Sure he's no Megatron, but that's what makes him so unique."

Transformers comics

"At this point thundercracker is the only thing keeping me going with the transformers ongoing- meanwhile MTMTE has become my favourite transformers media ever. what a perfect blend of misfits, feels, humour, social issues, doom, love, and art <3"

"Didn't read any."

"I know it's part of the fun and all but if maybe one day MTME could actually get somewhere closer to completing the quest it might be good..."

"If you do not have enough money to get a lot of Transformers comics... just get More Than Meets The Eyes ongoing. It has great characters, great stories and great dialogue. You will never be let down."

"RiD (formally known as) has improved out of sight and the CW series did not damage the momentum as much as I anticipated. Windblade improved as it went, mostly due to the interaction between the titular character and Starscream and Last Sins of the Wreckers looks like it'll be a good series, but only 1 issue came out in 2015."

definitely a pretty cool way to see how people thought about what happened with the whole franchise last year.

Some of my picks were up there at the top, some weren't, but can understand that.

Good effort.

Thanks, Paulbot! Would've thought that Trev got the member of the year in the bag just like M-bot for customizer. :D

Congrats to M Bot, Griffin, Trev and Snaketales on your awards!

Cheers, guys - much appreciated :)

Well now I'm kinda glad I spent Aus Day cleaning out my shed and a soild several hours sorting my TF's into their appropriate boxes - makes me feel like maybe I'm fan enough to maybe be deserving of a vote or two :o:p

But geez - I came second to Griffin?!? I mean yeah, he runs the site, pays for the site, is the main admin for the site - pretty much makes sure that Ozformers continues to exist etc. But me - I make off-colour jokes, indulge in off-beat rants about nonsensical issues and generally go around the site being a bit of a whimsical smart-arse - surely that is a far more valuable contribution!

A couple of my comments got selected haha. Do you get a lot of people writing extra thoughts down or is it mostly just ticking the boxes?

Thanks to everyone for voting, couldn't do this without you. Yearly TF Fan awards were one of my favourite things when I first interacted with online TransFandom and I'm happy to keep the tradition going.

You're getting up there. And you've for 11 months to campaign for votes for next year.

A couple of my comments got selected haha. Do you get a lot of people writing extra thoughts down or is it mostly just ticking the boxes?

I'd say around 50% of people at least add a comment or two. I try to pick a selection that give a good representation of the overall responses. Was a little surprised how negative the response to RID was compared to the nearly overall positive to Combiner Wars.

Even though I forgot to vote, this was a very entertaining read and generally not very surprising.

I have enjoyed the RID series, I got Steeljaw as my first toy from the line and it's a steaming pile, but I also picked up the Takara release Jazz and Drift 2 pack, they are much better toys. I wonder which ones are more representative of the rest of the line.

I think people might be surprised just how well all the simple/quick step transformers toys actually do. I think they turn over very quickly, and I personally enjoy the engineering in many of the more complex 1 step changers.

Again, great poll Paulbot and thank you for all your effort compiling questions and results. Congrats to those who were voted #1. all well earned if you ask me.

*We are very humbled and and honored to have been voted best online retailer by the OZformers website and community, To see the companies we beat for this award in the Transformer Marketplace is astonishing, but further confirmation we are doing what we think is best in the marketplace when it comes to collectors.

But also the understanding and patience you guys show when it comes to pre orders has been reported back to me by my staff as amazingly accepting of things outside of our control.

Any ozformer members may want to check our posting in the group regarding a ozformers promotion we decided to run.

Yeah agreed with Megatran. Whilst Griffin might be the head honcho on the forum, you are still a member and contribute just like any other Member. Could do a member of the year still but also add a Miss Congeniality type award for the most colourful member :p I think Trev would get his win on that one haha

I reckon thats nice of you Griffin and can understand your reasoning, but as others said, you should be included in those eligible to be voted for or at the very least have the award named after you - you put in a lot of effort man - you deserve the kudos :)

Yeah, let me go after something like that ;) I'll never be the member of the year (though bless all of you that voted for me to the point I came in 2nd - that was really nice and put a smile on my dial all day :)). Griffin can be the 'Member of the Year' or at least have the award named after him - let me persue a 'Most Entertaining Member of the Year' or 'Most Colourful' or something - whatever is the nicest way of saying "Biggest friggin crackpot" and I'll be happy :D

And well done Paulbot for all your effort in putting together the awards each year man - think you deserve a Member of the Year award yourself :)

I didn't realise it was that bad... I just don't think it is fair to be hogging it so much (it it makes it look like it is being rigged by the owner).

Of course it would be up to Paulbot as he puts all the hard yards in but perhaps we could add an extra category to the ongoing awards for the Griffies !
They could contain a few fun awards for members like..
Silliest moment of the year
Funniest member
Biggest waffler of the year
The biggest whinger
Etc etc

Or Griffin gets inducted into the Griffies Hall of Fame and is thereby excluded from voting for every year as he is a Hall of Famer. Winning 5 of the last 7 must qualify him as the inaugural inductee :p

Based on the award results I've started listening to the TFW podcasts and I think I'm enjoying them a little more than the Seibertron one's. Vangelus and Seth are more lighthearted and entertaining. I also like all the off topic chat. Anyway both podcasts are quite different in approach and are both great in their own right.

Voting for the 2016 awards will start this weekend.

I've been out of town all week and have a couple of things on but it's coming, so expect the campaigning to heat up. ;)

Woot! Always a lot of fun.

I had hoped to post a group of 8 customs I completed in 2016 as well as an add-on scratch custom for the Metrotitan I did last year before the year ended "for your consideration", but ran out of time this evening. I'll post them tomorrow.
