I'm surprised this hasn't hit the main TF sites yet, but apparently there will be a new album of songs about Transformers (check out http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/rock/6867442/transformers-album-bush-mount-holly-crash-kings-songs-stream

Not a huge deal, as I've never heard of most of the artists, but some may like it. i wish they hat Meatbee on it. They did an awesome song about them

I'm pretty sure I saw this on the big sites in the week leading up to the New York Toy fair.

I'm a little underwhelmed. I have never heard of any of the bands, which isn't a problem, I'll still buy it. I like trying new stuff.

I've seen it called the first transformers inspired release album, maybe retail, but all 4 films have had a 'soundtrack' cd with 'inspired by' material and there was the CD released at SDCC in 2014 to go with the Knights of Unicron box set. it was a giveaway at the convention I think. I bought one off eBay, called 'Till All Are One'. (this was pretty much just a Metal compilation disk but it does have some good stuff on there.

If it turns out that all this music was written with Transformers in mind, I'll be stoked, especially for this album would be even more awesome! But I can't help feeling it's just a compilation of songs where the titles or some of the lyrics might be construed as being transformers related if you squint hard enough. I don't understand why there isn't a single Stan Bush song on there.

I hope it gets a wider cd release release than they are saying. I'd prefer to have a hard copy than just digital download

It did about 6 days ago (http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/02/09/transformers-roll-album-coming-april-15-2016-309301).

I wish they had Stan Bush on there with Dare and The Touch.

A Transformers album sounds interesting until you find out that track 8 is just track 3 with a new chorus.

They do have them on the cd soundtrack to the 86 movie

Yeah, was just hoping for a digital upgrade :D

My son loves those songs, he asks to listen to them before bed every night!

It was on the main sites, but was laughed down for having nothing to do with Transformers, and promptly forgotten.

It's worse than the Movie Soundtrack CDs having half of the songs being "inspired" by the movie, but weren't even in the movie... at least those CDs had some songs that were directly related to something Transformers (on-screen songs).

I was surprised and disappointed that Hasbro even mentioned this album at one of their Toyfair presentations... as if it was something that would be very popular.
It's just another occasion of, what were they thinking?

That's the problem with 'inspired by' albums. It can mean almost anything. I once watched an episode 30 years ago or maybe I just jumped on the bandwagon last year...
