Robot Mode
A nice looking Sky Lynx indeed. While the poseability isn’t great nearly every part of him can be repositioned to some extent (wings, tail, legs, feet, neck, mouth) so you can give him different looks. Blasters can be attached to the wings or to elongate the tail.

Vehicle Mode
Besides the undercarriage sticking out from under the back of the Space Shuttle good and it’s very faithful to the original Sky Lynx concept in terms of proportions, colour scheme and shape. Very nice. Blasters can once again be attached to the wings.

Transformation
Very straight forward for a Voyager and one of the easiest of that size from the CW line to do.

Overall
I haven’t tried to make the quasi-lynx mode yet as I’ve seen pics and frankly it looks crap. I also haven’t turned him into Sky Reign as I’m awaiting Wreck-Gar before I bother. This is a pretty good Sky Lynx. I think it could have benefited from being a Leader Class toy with the Lynx mode built in rather than it being a combiner but certainly the fact he combines with others toys having the Lynx as the head gives it extra playability for younger fans and is an extra nod to fans of the original toy. So not as cool as the G1 toy (that was even motorized!) but way cooler than the Predacons Rising version. Overall recommended :)

Now this is a Sky Lynx that I like. After seeing CW Scattershot up close recently I felt underwhelmed by it's alt. mode. So despite Sky Lynx having a shellformer like alt. mode it's way better looking and better constructed than Scattershot.

Mine is currently being shipped... so I haven't voted but all I can do is express my opinion that Sky Lynx should have been a leader class.

From all the pictures that I have looked at he looks great, but I everytime I looked at one I keep thinking that I wish it was bigger.

This might change once I get my hands on it but I doubt it :(

As someone who has never own a Sky Lynx in any form, I have to admit that I am quite tempted by this. I actually don't mind the size. As someone who is 'space challenged', this is a plus.

First example of Sky Lynx I've owned and while I would have preferred leader class, still quite happy. Haven't bothered to set him up with some combiner limbs yet, but I probably won't do that for a while.

When this toy was revealed I kinda only wanted it for the Sky Reign mode, as Lynx himself looked super odd to me (as a not G1 fan).

But having him in the flesh I'm loving all the of the figure! Robot/Monster thing mode is really nice (though so way of making distinct eyes would have been nice) and despite the weird undercarriage I couldn't stop playing with the shuttle!

Can't wait to try out the torso mode once the limbs for him arrive.

However lots of floppy joints; I tightened the back feet and the blue wing-tips with a screwdriver out of the box to get them to be useable, and the key leg joints (which become arms and leg joints in torso mode) don't even feel like they have ratchets, so we'll see...

+1. Would love this guy to have been upscaled, even with the current level of engineering. Very nice little mould.

Having no electronic gimmick really frees up the designers to be able to utilise the "Lynx" faux-component (which is just a block in the G1 toy). Overall it's a really impressive homage to the G1 figure, although I'm still not entirely sold on the horns. Looks neat enough in robot mode, but weird in shuttle mode. My main criticism of this toy are the blue wings in robot mode which are really floppy and don't seem to be able to lock into position.

Still, I'm gonna buy this toy on sight if I can find one!

The blue wings on mine were a bit floppy as well, I tightened the 2 screws on the underside of the shuttle wings (top of the wings in robot um... beast thingy mode) and that mostly resolved it. They're not absolutely firmly in place but are not swinging in and out when I don't want them to.

I took out the shuttle tail fins and flipped them so they're the right way around in shuttle mode. They're now upside side down in Sky Reign mode but I think it's acceptable. The original position in shuttle mode bugged me more.

I gave it a shot with my Groove, but I can't see how to do it. There's no obvious points to secure him on Sky Reign's body. I'd be happy to be proved wrong, but I can't work it out.:confused:

There's some on Seibertron.com (and unsecured crotch plate - "crotch-gar"?), but it's not convincing or really even duplicate-able at all.

Almost (not quite, but almost) has me wanting to make him into a combiner, rather than displaying him as a stand alone character.

Me too, I'm tempted to use Skylinx combined mode as my CW Rejectron (eg Alpha Bravo, Rook etc)

The screw won't do much as the blue wing part is not actually pressed held together by the White plastic the screw tightens, you kinda have to open it up and can see what I mean

But once open up the best way would be to take out the blue wing part then polish / thicken the blue wing inner circle slot so that when it's plugged back into the peg on the White part, it's fits more tightly thus not flop around like crazy

He's very sturdy in torso mode, and the sculpt + colour of the feline head is perfect (unfortunately, much better than his normal shuttle/bird head). Would be really cool to get some other Season 3 Autobots to combine with - the Autobot Clones + Jumpstarters would be perfect colour-wise.

Got him from Kmart last night after price matching with Myer. Asked the clerk nicely, showed him Myer's online catalogue and even mentioned the sale price for "$34.95" twice. Guy still chose to ignore me, and apathetically enter the price match price for $24.95... :/ Who am I to tell a guy how to do his job?

Found this guy yesterday at Shellharbour TRU. He's nice. As a Sky Lynx fan it's good to finally see him get some proper love.

My version is pretty loose. Definitely gonna crack out the floor polish.

While I too would have liked a leader class Sky Lynx, the combiner gimmick meant it was never possible. That said, I do like the torso mode.

The only real issue I have with this guy is the price. I paid full TRU price which was $50. There is no way this guy is worth $50. But that is not a complaint I have with Sky Lynx, it is a complaint I have with retail TFs in general. If not fo rthe fact I really want this guy, I would have left him there.

So recommended? Yes, but not for $50.

Edit: I just voted on the poll for this thread and am surprised to see that I'm the only person that voted "Only if cheap".

finally got around to actually setting Sky Lynx up as a combiner with my orphan-limb bots as I never got the last two Dlx Autobot waves because I liked my existing representations of those characters.

Legs were quite loose, especially his left, and the arm ports tab in only from Sky Lynx' rear feet, and it's not a very deep/firm tab, so it's a little looser than Hot Spot's chest piece joint...

Don't get me wrong, I mostly like the way he looks (apart from almost no neck) - that Lynx face is perfect, and it's a pretty interesting way to turn a long necked quadrupedal mechanical nightmare creature into a relatively workable combiner torso... could have done a few things better though.

I floor polished a few of the looser joints on mine the other day. Places like the wing extensions and ankles and he is much better now. It could probably do with another coat on the wing extensions but I couldn't be bothered pulling it apart again.

I have no intention of ever using my Sky Lynx as a gestalt (although I might try it at least once when I'm bored enough just for the heck of it :p). But I do intend on getting Lio Kaiser and displaying that in gestalt form, so I do hope that they address this issue by time they get around to retooling it. Although knowing Hasbro, I wouldn't hold my breath. :rolleyes:
