Ultimetal UM03 Ultra Magnus

From TFW member C310 God Ginrai comes news of a prototype of Ultimetal Ultra Magnus seen at C3 HK.

If Ultimetal Optimus was about USD1K give or take depending on the store and if this is a repainted OP with Ultra Magnus armour, have to wonder how much this would be. Might stand up to 20inches tall to the top of those lovely shoulder stacks.

Would look incredible side by side with OP! Then again it would be near a couple of mortgage repayments to buy both. I will definitely end up in the dog house if I did that but does that work out to be free room and board?

I have UM Prime and he is worth every cent.
If Magnus is your poison then this guy will also be worth every cent.

They're large, heavy (REALLY HEAVY), and highly articulate.
I love mucking around with Prime putting him in poses and using him with props.

Curious to see if they'll add a voice to UM Magnus like the have Prime. It's the icing on the cake (and a great way to shock people when not only do they see a giant full metal toy but it interacts as well). On the other hand without a voice he might be slightly cheaper so more people can afford these wonderful figures.

The only nick pick I found with UM prime was that the eyes were slightly big.

As interesting as these toys are, at $1,000 USD that's more than a 3 day music festival, including camping!

If you are ever travelling to HK I can recommend a couple of places where you can get Optimus (at least) for about US$350 cheaper than that... but they are REALLY heavy so you would need a higher than normal economy weight allowance to take him home if travelling alone. :)

I get the impression it has both the inner and outer magnus armour. Which is pretty freakin awesome!

At that price I'm genuinely surprised it sold out. I expected shelfwarming and discounts for ages.

I'd kill for one of these but there's no way I can justify it either to myself or to my family.

I've seen the Ultimetal Prime in person now, it's stunning. but like you the price is something that's very hard to justify. I have the Mega Action Series Prime, it's a quarter of the price and while it's a different design aesthetic it's just as awesome to look at, with the exception of all the removable metallic panels that Ultimetal has.

The piece does not hold together well. So I think is not worth it.
